Every year John Hood blesses various Faith Families around the world with a gift of his depiction of Christ. In turn many faith leaders and art critics have responded with expressions of gratitude.  They have also declared his art worthy of bringing to the attention of Pope Francis and the Vatican. Thus John is beginning an artistic pilgrimage nurturing the hope that a divine intervention will one day see his depiction of Christ gracing the revered corridors of the Vatican.

During my networking I made friends with the Canadian Commander of the White Knights of Malta and this year they presented me with their Light Award. This is for ordinary people who have stepped up in a big way to help humanity.

The Commander introduced me to the Duchess de Rochefort, who has since endorsed my artwork and appointed me to her Royal Court as an Agricultural Advisor.

Then last month, I became the Recipient of the Order of the Royal House de Rochefort Original Holy Trinity, Order if Merit. This is given to people who stand up the the Environment, educating the children, and helping humanity. Other recipients are: His Holiness Pope Francis, SAS Prince Albert ll, Robert Weaver, Oprah Winfrey and Kofi Annon.

John says.” My Gardening business is now tied to my art because through Linked-in I have made a connection with a businessman in Vancouver who dehydrates food for soil adamants, but he is also able to take veggies/produce past it’s best and dehydrate those”.

We have contacted the Pattison Group of Overwaite chain President Mr. Glen Clark, and hope to hear back a good response to this project.

The Gardening Guru is in the running for the Best Green Business Award.

Aeron Jensan

Distributer for CITYPOD, Impact Bioenergy, GAIA Dehydrater, Justbiofiber, Surrey Red Wigglers, Captain Recycling owner.

2415626Having invested the last 20 years into the business of picking up junk and garbage and a service called recycling, you could say that I’ve confirmed almost everything we call ‘junk and garbage’ can be recycled.

In the past seven years my focus has been on this transition, teaching others how and what to recycle.  Our service of picking up garbage that is source separated saves our customers money and is an incentive to continue to keep their hauling costs low.

I call it Captain Recycling with a catchy tag, turning your garbage into recycling.

Well before the recent by-laws that prohibit food waste going into the garbage stream, I got busy with about 150 customers; task:  source separate, recycle. We did field studies of source containment for their organics and how to best give us, their hauler, their food waste.  In a 20 litre pail that we re-line each time.  This has worked most effectively, so far.

I calculated that in order to compost up to 1/3 of a growing client base that source separates, I would have to process between 3,000 and 5,000 lbs per month within 3 years.

Composting ‘rapidly’ became a project.  How to process ‘time efficiently’   Very quickly, between 2007 and 2014 the volume increased.  I knew there were mechanical options and they required research. There were no conclusions to this research other than having to buy the machines of choice and use them to compliment one another.

Next step: Develop a greenhouse operation that produces nutritious soil.

I set out to develop Vermiculture and Vermicompost with the end product of these machines.  I’ve learned it’s quite a challenge and that It is quite possible that I could produce more end product than I could store.  How to utilize this product most effectively is one of the biggest challenges.

So far, I have only 2 of 3 machines operational, one being a rotational drum that composts 120 lbs of macerated feedstock per day, called a CITYPOD, the other being a dehydrator that processes 100 lbs in a 9 hour cycle, called a GAIA GC 100.

What has brought me together with John is our mutual interest in finding the best use of dehydrated organics.  How to replenish food gardens with a 10 – 1 soil amendment How to process 500 lbs of banana or peppers – into 50 lbs of sterilized dehydrated feedstock and send it to places around the globe that are food starved.

In closure, to best answer ‘why’ am I doing this.  As a business person, hauler, I want to take this weight off my loads.  I pay for weight – so there is a daily economic incentive.

Job creation.  Removing food waste is an average of 40% off my dump fees.  I take this savings and put it into the job creation account of composting with machines.

Reduce carbon emissions by targeting methane, 10 times the effect of carbon on global warming.

Create nutritious soil and fertilizers and dehydrated edible food  – local and global markets

TSM16/10 Synchronistory a Global Movement- Alison Goldwyn

Their Story Matters with Sara Troy and her guest Alison Goldwyn aired March 8th-14th

system_eventpage_event_title

The Global Identity Crisis….coming together to save the Earth

Synchronistory is an epic future television event currently in development. Its genesis spans nearly thirty years and began in 1987. On the floor of a NYC living room with a map of the world, a perennial question was posed in earnest: who in heaven are we and why on earth are we here? Eleven years later on the floor of the United Nations that question would resound in the form of HANDS AROUND THE WORLD: HUMANITY CELEBRATES THE MILLENNIUM during a world television forum addressing the future of this upcoming defining moment in history.

mission2

All the rhetoric and wisdom of the ages would no longer suffice for such a turning point in time. It merited a revolutionary-evolutionary next step. From conceptuality to actuality. Nothing short of a hands-on event with an unheard of theme (a multicultural celebration of humanity, broadcast live worldwide) could captivate a global audience’s attention and perhaps instils wonder.

Synchronistory is the brainchild of Alison Goldwyn, a native New Yorker with a background in music, psychology, and the performing arts.

Alison Goldwyn has never authored a best-selling book … she has never given a TED talk nor written anything for the Huffington Post … she has never met the Pope, shaken hands with the Queen nor received a letter of praise from the Dalai Lama … she is neither a Harvard graduate nor the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship … and she has never been appointed to the Board of anything.

She is, however, a Human Being who has spent the last decades exploring this undervalued experience that we so take for granted. She was awarded a chocolate Nobel Prize in Norway for doing so.

Alison has worked as an entrepreneur in marketing, fashion, and has written and produced for small Inde films as well as Turkish television. Her passion is exploring the byways of human nature with an inquisitive cultural eye – be it the inner realms of the psyche or the outer reaches of the universe. Her soulful connection to music enriches her journey and it is this ensemble that became the seeds for an unprecedented venture initiated nearly 30 years ago in her native New York City.

Hands Around the World was to be a televised millennium event. It was first conceived in 1987 based on a simple but profound question: “who on earth are we and what would it be like if we all literally connected for a global moment in time?” Thus a music-driven celebration of Humanity was born and nurtured over a generation of global changes that has now challenged not just our world but the very notion of doing such an event.

Nearly 20 years ago, Alison relocated to Europe on Inner Prompting which turned out to be a soul-validating experience of inestimable value.

Today, minus a millennium and its exuberant pre-911 buzz, Hands has evolved into a more mature and sober incarnation that speaks to the global zeitgeist with originality and care. Synchronistory is a global “televisionary” event of the future. Alison is its founder and creative director.

The goal of Sync is to take a conscious and collective pause-that-awes, by creating a dynamic television context that virtually wows us from our rut and sparks the imagination through enlightened “edutainment”.

The hope is to stir Humanity into re-imagining their individual and collective Self, inspiring individuals worldwide to live more creatively, consciously, conscientiously, and authentically.

TMS16/03 The Need of a LOO (toilet)

Their Story Matters with Sara Troy and her guest Jasmine Burton aired January 19th-24th

Not everyone has a LOO

IMG_2323We take for granted in the Western world that everyone has a flushing toilet, but that is not true, a number of people in the world without a loo is huge and this can cause sickness. One team took this on and came up with a LOO (toilet) that can be used anywhere in the world giving sanitation and some dignity to those that need it.

Now with the refugees being scattered in camps, this product is in even more need.

Wish for WASH, LLC is a social impact organization that strives to bring innovation to sanitation through culturally specific design, research, and education. The SafiChoo toilet system, Wish for WASH’s first sanitation model tailored initially intended for a Kenyan refugee community, premiered in Fall 2013 as a Georgia Tech senior design project. Since then, our team has evolved into a talented group of young and diverse engineers, designers, business analysts, and development researchers – dedicating their skills to disrupt how the world is tackling sanitation relief products and services. The most current SafiChoo design is composed of separate, modular units, which enables the user to chose the elements of the system to best meet their specific needs. Our collective teamwork and my exposure through the Spring 2015 TedxAtlanta talk in addition to a number of other speaking events have brought Wish for WASH to the attention of numerous international aid and relief agencies interested in our mission and products. Our efforts are now turned toward completing a beta test in Spring 2016 in communities outside of Lusaka, Zambia, which will focus on user experience and overall feasibility of the product in partnership with our target users.

12391955_10205426035306728_3542550507709458489_nJasmine Burton was born and raised in Dunwoody, Georgia. In 2014, her senior design team won the Georgia Tech InVenture Prize Competition, the largest undergraduate invention competition in the United States, for their design of an inexpensive mobile toilet, SafiChoo. Before graduating, from Georgia Tech’s Industrial Design Program, she participated in the Georgia Tech Women’s Leadership conference, the CDC’s Summer Public Health Scholars Program, Humanity in Action Fellowship and Industrial Design studio classes that emphasized ethnography and social impact work. She hopes to improve women’s health via redesigning water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure which is why she founded Wish for WASH, a social impact startup that seeks to bring innovation to sanitation. Over the next year, Jasmine is serving as Global Health Corps Fellow in Lusaka, Zambia working as a design specialist at the Society for Family Health. Jasmine identifies as a humanitarian design activist and, ultimately, seeks to use her creativity to make the world smile.

Here are some of Daniel on YouTube:

“Here they are, the ones that will make the changes we so desperately need.”

GMOs are Genetically Modified Organisms whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. Our bodies are not designed to digest these foods, and the chemicals they use in pesticides are causing our bodies to break down.

Studies in humans reveal that GMOs leave behind harmful material in our bodies linked to cancer in humans, and in animal studies, GMOs have been associated with organ damage, immune disorders, and accelerated aging early death.

Without GMO labeling laws, what can you do to protect yourself from hidden GMOs that continue to threaten your health and wellbeing?

We have a voice, and it starts here and now with young people like Daniel and his parents. We have the power to change things by buying local and organic, make your voice heard in the grocery store, buy organic and be aware of the foods you eat.
