25-38. Sunny Side of the Street

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from September 22ND

We have all known the darkness, a place of fear, uncertainty, cold, and isolation. What truly matters is not that we entered it, but how we choose to emerge. Something always calls us toward the light, urging us to step forward. I believe in the “Sunny Side of the Street,” where those still lost in the shadows can see the light ahead, beckoning them out. And when they cross into that light, they find others waiting with love, support, wisdom, and tools to guide them on their journey forward.

I believe in Free Will. Whatever has caused us to step into the darkness, whether fear, pain, or the weight of circumstance, it is only through Free Will that we can choose to rise and leave it behind. No one can walk that path for us; the choice must come from within. Yet when we decide to step forward, to cross into the Sunny Side of the Street, we discover the light has always been waiting. There, we are not alone. We find the loving support, the wisdom, and the tools we need to continue our journey with strength, courage, and hope.

Part of our darkness is learning to see the light not as a judgment, but as an invitation—to leave the pain behind and step into healing. Yet the darkness itself has a purpose. It gives us space to reflect on how we arrived there, to recognize that it is not always our fault, and to understand that even this is a life lesson. In walking through it, we become more resilient, more insightful, more attuned to our inner voice, and stronger and more courageous than we ever believed possible.

It becomes our story to share, what we have learned, how it inspires others, and a celebration of how truly flawsome we are when we piece our shattered selves back together with self-love.

The danger lies in staying too long in the darkness of despair, blind to the light that beckons and unwilling to take the steps toward it. We cannot wait for someone to rescue us, for those on the Sunny Side of the Street are already waiting with open arms. They cannot walk the path for us, but the moment we choose to step forward, their care, wisdom, and love are there to receive us.

I was in the darkness for over eight years. Apathy was setting in, and I knew that if I didn’t step into the light, my soul would wither. At first, the light felt blinding, and the shadows seemed to chase me. But over time, I grew accustomed to its warmth and began to see the shadows not as threats, but as contours that gave the light its shape.

Now, when I enter the darkness, it is no longer with fear but with peace and reflection. Since I have discovered that I am the light I seek, and in that darkness, I can now see with clarity what I am truly meant to understand.

Step beyond the shadows, for the Sunny Side of the Street shines with love, wisdom, and strength, ready to walk beside you, but alas, it is you that must walk it.

BB25-37. Dianne Crampton’s TIGERS Integration

Building Your Business with Sara Troy and her guest Dianne Crapmton, on air from September 16th

I started TIGERS because I wanted to understand what makes a group of people truly work well together. As a manager, I was discouraged by how much emphasis was placed on individual achievement while the potential of people collaborating with purpose was ignored. I’ve always believed that employees aren’t costs to be controlled—they’re the real stakeholders in an organization’s success. After all, we spend more of our waking hours at work than with our families, and that time should be meaningful. Through decades of research and 34 years of practice, I’ve proven there is a much better way. When trust, interdependence, genuineness, empathy, risk resolution and shared success guide how we work, teams achieve extraordinary results—and people end their days feeling engaged, valued, and proud of what they’ve built together.

25-37. Healing Beyond Hate

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from September 16th

With the shooting of Charlie Kirk this week, along with other assassinations that have already scarred this year, we must ask ourselves: what path are we truly traveling? Our society has become steeped in hate, where violence is used as an excuse to silence or punish those we disagree with. The film Civil War (on Netflix) starkly illustrates how quickly America could unravel under such escalation, and how hate, even in rhetoric—burns everything in its path.

How does turning on one another ever help us heal the pain or address the weight of injustice?
How does fueling hate, rhetoric, and division create bridges or invite real solutions?

When those in power spread discord and hate, they stir people into a frenzy. And in that frenzy, reason is lost, logic is twisted, and empathy and compassion vanish, replaced by fear and rage. Division has never healed a wound; it only makes the scar deeper.

We must pause and create space to reassess our accountability, our choices, our words, and our interactions. We need to own them, hold ourselves responsible, and from that place, ignite self-love that naturally radiates outward, touching everyone in our world. That self-love, and the love of life itself, becomes a force that works for all, healing wounds, softening divisions, and opening the door to true solutions.

True strength comes not from silencing others, but from listening even when it is hard. We can choose to rise above the noise, to be the voice of calm in a storm of chaos. Every act of love, no matter how small, is a ripple that pushes back against hate.

Take stock of your inner dialogue, where is it truly coming from? Is it rooted in trauma, fear, loss, a sense of unworthiness, or anger? We must heal those wounds, find ways to release that inner pain, and move forward into the light of illumination, wisdom, and self-love.

Because when we tend to our own hearts, we weaken the grip of hate. When we choose compassion over retaliation, we build bridges instead of walls. And when we honor our shared humanity, we become the antidote to the chaos.

The path forward isn’t found in louder arguments or deeper divides. It is found in each of us choosing to rise, to love, and to lead with the quiet strength of understanding. That is how we heal, not just ourselves, but the world around us.

Lack-itude versus Gratitude
When we dwell on what we lack, we feed the pain, the fear, and the sense of being less than. But when we choose gratitude, no matter how small the blessing, we shift the energy. Gratitude nourishes hope, strengthens resilience, and reminds us of the abundance already present in our lives. What we feed will grow; let it be gratitude, not lack.
