21-37 A Different Kind of Courage

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from September 14th

The courage I had when I was young was in some way mindless, we believed as a young person does, that we can do anything and nothing will hurt us, we learn through life’s lessons that is not always so. I was such a timed person until I went to South Africa at the age of 14 y. Old. I was desperately shy, but loved one on one conversation (still do). When we arrived in S.A, I was frown into the deep end and had to get social very fast, that is when I discovered my courage.

I had in many ways had to fake it before I convinced myself, but in doing so, I discovered a person I never knew was there. I became and still am an extrovert introvert, an Alfa Beta personality. To others I was this exuberant young woman who tried everything, I did not know if I could do it until I tried to do it, which means I could not do it a lot of the time, but I would not know what I could do unless I tried.

I went into jobs like that, always unqualified, but in belief, I could do it, how would I know unless I tried. I realized my strengths and weakness and learned to focus on my strengths. We sell ourselves short, thinking we can’t when we from the inside out, know we can. It is different from when we were young, we were daring, challenging, excited, and sometimes unthinking. Now as we age we understand that our courage has a different purpose and that we can still be daring but in a more soul heartful way.

I have leaped at many things in life, now I am slower to leap, but that does not mean I am not still adventurous, it just means more discerning. Realistically, my body can not do what it used to, and my spirit may be a bit dulled. I have still within me, much to explore and do, but now it is within my energy and infusiasim.

21-36 Discovering Montreal.

Sara’s View Of Life with Sara Troy, on air from September 7th

I have lived in Canada for 41 years now and have never gone to Montreal, so now is the time. I am going with my wonderful 88 year old friend who is saying good bye to her city of birth. To see it through her eyes will be wonderful, and to get away and just be in the moment and no sows is much needed.

Do we allow ourselves to discover? do we venture out and see even what is in our own neighborhoods? Even though international travel is not ok, see your own country, and learn just how wonderful it really is.

21-34 Letting Optimism Drive

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from August 31st

Letting Optimism Drive, keeping the possibilities alive, and choosing to see things from higher vibrations will always show us the way forward. It is so easy to see everything wrong, but if we change our lenses we can see what is right also. Choosing to be optimistic allows for those positive vibrations to rise up.

From there we see the possibilities and know from our heart and soul what we need to do to make it happen. We can not see clearly in judgment, righteousness, in pain, in fear, or anger, they consume our reasoning. To really have the clarity you have to raise up those vibes and allow that clarity to come from a higher place. Only then can we really see that being optimistic is positive and invites that clear vision of knowingness to come through.

Being optimistic is not being a daydreamer, or having your head in the clouds, it is about choosing to see from a different angle and being open to all possibilities without persecution of judgments. If we seed those optimistic possibilities each and every day, we will bear the fruits of that labor.

So let us embrace this wonderful word, let us see each other from different lenses, let us be open to other points of view, and let us not condemn our friends because they see things differently. Be open be present, be engaged, be heartful, and allow optimism to show you the way to clarity and exuberant possibilities.

21-34 Dealing with New Challenges

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on-air from August 24th

Yes, once again I am facing a challenge I thought was over. When it first happened I was shocked, then sad, then depressed, then filled with despair. Then I got mad, angry, and wanting to fight back, but we can not fight in anger, we need to strategize and focus on the battle ahead with a clear mind.

We get more done when fighting an unjust battle, with logic, accountability, and clarity of the problem. To present it, we must articulate the issues in a concise way that requires them to defend their actions and accept accountability.

It does not matter what you are facing right now, you must allow yourself to go through the emotions to get to that place where you can address the wrong in that articulate way. Doing it while in pain, sorrow or anger will only backfire on you, so feel it go through it, write down what the problem is, be logical on your approach to the issues, and present it in a way that invites the party to address it in a way of healing.

May whatever battle you are going through, may you find your strength, your courage, your rational side, and your power to bring accountability to the situation, and put things right.

21-33 Open Masculinity Talk

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from August 17th

Women have never had a hard time speaking to one another, we find those ones we trust and open up. We call each other out, we support each other, we cry together, we laugh and even make fun of each other, so why can’t men do the same? Because it is not masculine enough.

I have just watched an episode Man Enough, where a few guys that we know speak about how hard it is to bear their feelings and the confusion of living up to a macho masculinity. We wonder why men can’t speak to us, well, it is because they can’t even speak to each other, because of this illusion of what a man should be and the image he is meant to portray.

Men, it is ok to be vunreable, it is ok to feel hurt, to be scared, to have fears, this makes you human, it does not take your power away, it instead empowers you and all around you. We are in a world of equality, where we as women and men can share all of life’s dealings. Being a co-parent, being a partner in love, in work in play. Being open with the people you work with, showing your vulnerability and that you are not superman, you are human. We have the Ying and Yang for a reason, balance, a bit of both sides, and being open with yourself, your friends, your loved ones, liberates you and them creating a wonderful place of open conversations with our fear, expectations, or dictation.

We want you to feel enough, so open up, let us see you within, let yourself out, and share all of you, the fears, the dreams, the blockages, and the joys. Let us, on both sie men and women, be there openly for each other and have those inner conversations in celebration of being enough in our own lives.
