IG26-09. Janet M. Schwartz, Ph.D. Authentic Intelligence.

Ignite your heart and soul with Sara Troy and her guest Janet M. Schwartz, Ph.D. On air from March 3rd

I am a forever believer in the potential for humanity.  I want to help you, your family, your community, your state, our country, and all nations.  As Authentic Human Beings, we yearn for Authentic connections, and we may discover them in random moments throughout our day.  My hope is to awaken our need to attach to one another, to awaken our want to help every Authentic other, and to cultivate an interest in expressing Authentic caring in a conversational art form.

The dawn of each new day presents abundant opportunities for us to bring new energy to the forefront.  One way to begin anew is by understanding our Treasure of Intelligences.  By feeding our mental, emotional, and spiritual intelligences and making them work together, we will begin to view ourselves, those we love, and those we help through lenses of possibility rather than through lenses of limitations.  Tapping into your Authentic Intelligence  (AI+) is the only way to have the clarity and knowing you need to live your full potential and enjoy emotional well-being.

Improvements in how we treat each other, the quality of our solutions to our problems and more are on the horizon. Rise up, stand tall and raise your voices as we work one-on-one, family-by-family, community-by-community, state-by-state, and nation-by-nation to build a world unafraid to answer the call.

I currently serve as President & Forensic Behavioral Scientist of Forensic Fraud Research, Inc., a non-profit, not-for-fee investigative firm that became affiliated with the National White Collar Crime Center in 2003.  To protect the confidentiality of sources and colleagues, I am the only face associated with the firm, though the organization is comprised of many skilled professionals along with federal, state, and local authorities.

Author & speaker Dr. Jan Mielke Schwartz, “is considered to be one of the most theoretically minded, hopeful, and erudite professionals in the fields of Criminology, Forensic Behavioral Science, Intelligence, and Homeland Security.” (LAWeekly.com: September 28, 2022)  She brings warmth, authenticity, conviction, and a ‘knowing’ of how to navigate the fine line between optimism and pessimism into her projects.  Noted by the University of Pittsburgh as “one of those who show high promise of significant contribution to society and progress,” her first book, Last Summer with Oscar:  An Adventurous True Story of Love and Courage, launched as an international bestseller on Amazon.com which was followed by a how-to-do-it Last Summer with Oscar Workbook.  Jan is presently completing a new non-fiction book, “Authentic Intelligence:  How to Use Your Mental, Emotional & Spiritual Gifts to Create the Life – and World – You Want.

Jan was devoted to working with children and families for seventeen years.  She taught grades K, 1, 7 and 8, coordinated a gifted program for middle school youngsters, and worked as a child counselor at a domestic violence shelter prior to receiving graduate training to become a family psychologist.  However, the discovery of any evidence catapulted her from dreaming of one day having a free family therapy clinic to a career in forensic fraud research.  With great effort and unusual collaboration, the evidence unfolded into numerous state and multi-state investigations.  Over the subsequent years, Schwartz became an internationally known expert on the white-collar organized crime and the white-collar organized community as she continued her intelligence gathering efforts that contribute to strengthening our country and helping to build a better, safer world.

A forever believer in the potential of humanity, Jan cares deeply about helping individuals, families, communities, states, and all nations as they strive to thrive, heal, and further their growth and effectiveness.  She welcomes hearing from one and all.

Dr. David Weill, “TELL ME I BELONG” #26-03

Ignite Your Heart and Soul with Sara Troy and her guest Dr David Weill, on air from Janaury 20th

Dr. David Weill, author of TELL ME I BELONG: A Journey Across Faiths and Generations

A heartfelt memoir about the search for religion and identity

“I’m not Jewish.” For years, that’s what David Weill told anyone who asked about his religious background. Yes, his father was a Jew who had left Nazi Germany as a boy. But his mother was a Southern Baptist. Growing up in New Orleans, religion wasn’t something his family discussed, let alone practiced. As an adult, he developed a fervent zeal, and profound devotion to his work as a specialist in organ transplants. Transplantation was all he needed to define and fulfill him—until a crisis shook him to the core.

In 2015, after the simultaneous unraveling of his carefully crafted career and the death of his father, Weill began to doubt everything, including his purpose in life. While grappling with emotional pain and sinking deeper into despair, he began to suffer perplexing physical symptoms. In his moment of crisis, he was seized by a strong desire to practice a formal religion. But for Weill, the real question was, Which religion? Eventually, he chose Catholicism and was baptized at age fifty. He found solace in heart-to-heart talks with a priest and his daughters’ happiness at having the whole family at church together. Everything was fine—until 2020, when he learned that his mother had converted to Judaism right before marrying his father. He was born a Jew. And in the eyes of the Jewish faith, he would always be Jewish. That realization sparked his second quest.

He reflects on what drew his mother, a native of Selma, Alabama, to Judaism—partly because, as she once said, Jews “always seemed like such practical people,” but more deeply as a rejection of the hypocrisy she saw in Baptist churches that preached love for all of God’s children while practicing racism. He also explores his father’s complicated relationship with being Jewish, a source of pride linked to intelligence and success, yet shadowed by a lifelong fear of ostracism and stigma. This personal history comes into sharp focus during a heart-wrenching journey to Berlin with his daughter Hannah, where he seeks out his father’s first home and confronts the inner work of defining who he is. His search deepens through a determined effort, aided by investigators, to uncover the truth about his grandfather’s imprisonment in the Buchenwald concentration camp, and the pivotal role played by his renowned relative, composer Kurt Weill, in orchestrating his family’s escape to the United States.

DAVID WEILL, MD, is the former Director of the Center for Advanced Lung Diseases and the Lung and Heart-Lung Transplant Program at Stanford University Medical Center. A sought-after advisor to various transplant programs across the country, he also serves on the Board of TransMedics, a company focused on improving availability of donor organs. Dr. Weill has also served on several non-profit boards including the Tulane Medical School, Xavier University of Louisiana, SFJAZZ, the Isidore Newman School, the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) Foundation, NextGen Personal Finance, and the Bellevue Literary Review. Dr. Weill’s writing has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Salon, Newsweek, the Chicago Tribune, STAT, the Washington Post, The Hill, LitHub, Tablet, The Times of Israel, TODAY.com, and the Los Angeles Times. His previous books include the memoir Exhale: Hope, Healing, and Life in Transplant (2021) and a novel, All That Really Matters (2024). He lives in New Orleans.

Sharmiley D. was born in Guyana to Caribbean Indian parents in an arranged marriage. She grew up in a culture where beating children was considered normal, where discipline passed as love, and silence spoke loudest. She believed all families were like this. No one said otherwise.

For much of her life, Sharmiley tried to see the good in others, even at the cost of her own well being. Emotional neglect, punishment, and abandonment felt normal. But they weren’t.

Her healing journey led her to yoga, coaching, EFT, breath-work, trauma therapy, and spiritual practices from around the world. She draws inspiration from the work of Dr. Gabor Maté, Dr. Peter Levine, and Franz Ruppert.

“Wishful Thinking” with TSIKKI THAU. C26-03

Ignite Your Heart and Soul with Sara Troy and her guest Tsikki Thau. On air from January 20th

Stress management expert Tsikki (pronounced ‘Seekie’) Thau, author of Attract It All: The Real Secret to Manifestation,  dispels the popular myths surrounding “wishful thinking” and talk about the real secret to manifestation.

This conversation explores why most manifestation tools fall short—and how to approach them in a way that truly works. Rather than asking the universe for things, it reframes manifestation as a grounded practice rooted in energy awareness and mindset, not magic. Drawing on the science behind how our thoughts, emotions, and nervous system shape our experience, the discussion offers simple breathwork and gratitude practices listeners can begin using right away. It also addresses how to set intentions and resolutions for 2026 that are realistic, embodied, and aligned—so they don’t fade by February, but genuinely take root and last.

Sensitivity Wisdom & Ross Tayler. #IG26-01

Ignite Your Heart and Soul with Sara Troy and her guest Ross Tayler, on air from January 6th

As an adult trying to make sense of my past, my Dad was asked what I was like as a child.  He told me I was sensitive.  That one simple truth clarified both why I struggled to fit into a world that felt so intense and why the path of being in service to others was chosen.  Discovering life coaching sparked a passion to help people learn about themselves.  My lived experiences transformed into wisdom which can support others to learn to trust their own nature and create meaningful change.  Witnessing the amazing shifts that people make in their lives is deeply satisfying.

A career as a manager in the food service industry for 27 years became my first conscious classroom for understanding the human experience.  Since discovering life coaching in 2006, work that is truly aligned with my purpose, I pivoted and have been supporting others both individually and in groups.

I help empaths and sensitive souls stop people pleasing, find their voice and feel confidence in their relationships.  I value connection, sharing lived wisdom and facilitating spaces where people can show up as their true selves, heal and learn to thrive.
