Premiering 10-24-2013. DEROSNEC is the multimedia audiovisual project of Nina Helene Hirten.
Visually, DEROSNEC is a filmmaker and illustrator. Her passion for storytelling has inspired shorts, movies, and graphic novels as well as standalone pieces of drawn or painted images. She has created everything from animated shorts, to documentary vignettes, to music videos.
Musically, DEROSNEC is a singer, performer, and composer. With her unusually low voice and wide operatic vocal range, she makes music that pulls from all genres of the musical world to create a moody, personal, and fresh sound. Her lyrics range from politics and philosophy to her own experience and feelings, and are unusually straightforward while being simultaneously laced with double meanings and word play.
She works closely with the band Model M and Everson Poe.
Nina Helene Hirten, known as DEROSNEC, is a multimedia artist with a focus on audiovisual
storytelling. Raised by an opera singer and a composer, her childhood was surrounded by music, and much of the time she found herself sitting through concerts and drawing pictures of the images that she would get from her listening experience. She was taught to sing operatically at a very young age, and soon taught herself to play many instruments such as guitar, bass, drums, and piano.
Nina released her first self produced album in grade 10, and distributed over 150 of them around her high school. She quickly became known as the “resident musician”, and when the opportunity arose later that year to join a multimedia course that worked with video, she found her calling and decided to pursue film with the intention of making music based cinema.
By the time Nina left to study Film Production at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, she already had two short films play in various festivals around California, and had released two selfproduced
albums. Upon graduating, she moved to Vancouver, BC and started up her own production company, Oh Just Peachy Studios Productions, which currently serves as the primary vehicle for producing both her music and her film work.
MISSION STATEMENT .
DEROSNEC is dedicated to redefining the “music video”. Pulling from the concept of “rockopera”
films such as Pink Floyd’s “The Wall” and The Who’s “Tommy”, she writes music with corresponding videos and movies in mind.
DEROSNEC is uniquely capable as a multimedia artist. Her audiovisual intentions are immediately brought into reality, ready to be shared and experienced. Thanks to years of practice as a professional video producer and independent music maker, DEROSNEC’s important themes and messages of strength, self confidence, perseverance, and emotional/spiritual growth are able to spread through a unique medium that is complemented by the needs and expectations of the digital age.

You think that you are having a premonition, a flash of something to come. You may have déjà-vu, a flash back, a coincidence, but no matter what it is, it is a sign, a map of where to go and in how to get there. You may call it instinct, or intuition, tapping in to your sixth sense.
We hear things but do not listen. We see things but do not believe our own eyes. We touch things with our own hands but do not believe what we are feeling. We sense something but again we do not trust what our instincts may be telling us.
Let us look at the signs of life and see what they mean to us and in how we can hear them.

With an understanding of our own personal timing aligned with Cosmic timing, we are able to make wise choices and decisions taking advantage of opportunities we wrote into our own personal scripts. As with any journey, having a roadmap assists in choosing our route – whether scenic, challenging or a combination of the two. Having been raised a Southern Baptist, Mary Elizabeth’s greatest influence was her grandfather on her father’s side who was an active participant in the Pentecostal Holiness movement. Because of this she has researched and studied many varied belief systems, philosophies, mythologies and psychologies the world over for Truth. She has been active since 1962 as both student and teacher of many ancient spiritual paths. These have included Egyptian, Celtic, Native American, Hawaiian Kahuna, Druidism and Wicca traditions as well as other indigenous cultures around the world.
Hoffman has been sharing her expertise with individuals and groups by giving workshops around the U.S. and the world since 1986. She has been doing wholistic consulting with clients since 1975. Mary has studied numerous alternative healing techniques with psychologists and therapists who are on the leading edge in their fields. I feel we are both looking from the same place but due to our sex and conditioning we are trained to react in a different way. Why it if a man is is sensitive do we perceive them as unmanly? Why a strong woman is considered butch?
We all want to love and be loved, we all want to be excepted and embraced for who we are and not what people want from us, we all want to feel free and in trust of each other, so why is our speak getting in our way of lovingly communicating with each other?
Today we are going to get some different perspectives on this and see if we can find a common language in which to truly speak to each other so we fully hear what we are saying, and look at if speaking is only done with words?
