What makes a woman and who decides?

When you look through the ages at style, today’s style can be very depressing. Where did the entire feminine voluptuous woman go?

Reclaiming Our Femininity: Embrace Your Curves

I’m growing increasingly tired of the trend in fashion that seems to strip away our femininity, leaving us to look like boys in girls’ clothes. It’s as if the industry has forgotten what makes us uniquely, beautifully women.

Remember when we were young, eagerly awaiting the day when our bodies would blossom into the curves that signify womanhood? We celebrated the changes that marked our journey into womanhood—whether it was the soft curve of a hip or the fullness of a bust. But now, everywhere I look, the standard seems to be flat chests, boyish waists, no hips, and gawky legs—a far cry from the vibrant diversity of shapes and sizes that truly represent us.

We see a glimmer of hope in cultural icons who embrace their curves with confidence. Shows like Mad Men take us back to an era where women like Christina Hendricks proudly flaunted their hourglass figures, reminding us that curves have always been a symbol of femininity and strength. Icons like Tyra Banks have built successful careers on their shapely figures, proving that beauty isn’t confined to one narrow standard. So why, in 2024, are we still seeing clothes designed for a narrow, boyish frame rather than for the beautifully diverse shapes that represent real women?

Loving and embracing our bodies starts with self-respect and self-love. We must reject the one-size-fits-all approach to beauty and reclaim the narrative around our bodies. Your beauty is defined by you, not by anyone else’s standards. It’s time to step into your power, wear your body with pride, and dress in a way that honors the unique beauty you possess.

Whether you’re celebrating your curves, loving your flat chest, or embracing your full bosom, remember that every body is a work of art. Don’t let fashion dictate how you should look—let your style reflect the love you have for yourself, and never shy away from your full womanhood.

Fashion should be about expression, not oppression. It’s time to demand more from designers and the industry as a whole. We deserve clothes that celebrate our bodies, not hide them. We deserve to see our diversity reflected on runways and in stores.

So, dress for your body, reflect the love from within, and walk confidently in your womanhood. Love every inch of who you are, and let that love shine through in every outfit you wear.

0057 Becoming an Entrepreneur with Avril

Aired 10-22-2013. Becoming an Entrepreneur with Avril

Avril Betts a seasoned Entrepreneur with share her success of 35 years in business and how to get started the right way.

avrilmay13 (3)Starting a new business is one of the biggest risks a person can take. Consequently, many would-be entrepreneurs give up before they even start. But you don’t have to do it alone. With the right mentorship, you can make the dream of being your own boss come true.

Avril Betts is an entrepreneurship coach offering the expertise she’s accumulated over 35 years in business and marketing to aspiring entrepreneurs.

“I get great satisfaction from helping people reach their goals,” says Avril. “I train and coach my clients to be who they want to be in the direction they want to go.”

As an entrepreneur, Avril specialized in the travel and tourism business, including everything from owning a country inn and restaurant to currently owning two travel agencies, one retail, one online. She says many people have the ability to start their own business but lack the necessary business acumen to put it together.

“It doesn’t matter what the business is, everyone needs a business plan and a marketing plan,” says Avril. “A business plan is simply a road map to where you want to go and it’s not as complicated as people make it out to be.”

A complete business plan should answer the essential questions: What kind of location do you want? What kind of customers do you hope to attract? Will you need capital? Will you need staff? Answering these questions should allow you to develop systems for how you’re going to approach your operations.

“There’s always things that come up and things you’ve forgotten, but once you’ve got the basic business plan you can use that as your foundation and update it accordingly as challenges arise,” says Avril. “It’s about keeping your eye on the ball.”

0054 Barbara’s dance with Sacred Geometry

Positive Living Vibrations with Sara TROY and her guest Barbara’s dance with Sacred Geometry, Painting and Crystals. Aired 10-10-2013

Barbara Evans and her spiritual journey of awakening, involving a transformation from High School teacher to healer, artist and author, was prompted by a major life event. The death of her father triggered a passion for finding a new way of living and being within the world, one that does not include pain and fear.

Barbara Evans_Bio Pic 3 (3)Step by step, the transformations took place, and Barbara studied many alternative healing methods, becoming a Reiki Master, Crystal Resonance Therapist and Shiatsu practitioner. Then, six years later, Barbara’s dance with Sacred Geometry, Painting and Crystals began. As her journey of awakening deepened, her love for planet Earth became stronger and far more conscious. In 2003 she underwent a quantum leap that vaulted her into the brave new, and as yet unexplored, a world of Transformational Healing Art, as her developing gifts came together in the creation of the first Image Key painting, “Healing the Waters of the Earth.” Since then, she has produced 26 Image Key paintings, and they provide the foundation of a new energy healing approach, The Eden Method … The Art of Raising Frequency.

As an author, intuitive and transformational healing artist, Barbara strives to inspire others to discover their true passion and potential… to connect with their life purpose and consciously contribute to the creation of a New Earth and New Dream for all people.

Barbara’s life began in England. After studying at the Universities of Liverpool and Cambridge, she became a teacher of Biology with a passion for the environment. She relocated to the US in 1994, and currently resides with her husband in Michigan. Her three children are pursuing careers in New York and Boston.

Her daughter Charlotte is an inspiration and the images and templates in Coloring for Joy are Barbara’s, but Charlotte shares equal billing with the words and overall design – bringing in the child’s perspective is an enormous benefit that she brings to the table. She is unable to be on the call, as she will be in the classroom doing what she loves most teaching.

0053 Saying to ourselves “Hello Healthy One”

Marti Avila’s on Saying to ourselves “Hello Healthy One”AIRED 10-08-2013

Choosing the right foods and mindset to living a healthy life.

pic of me in lab coat (3)At the age of 19, I was 6’1’ and weighed 250 pounds. I looked like a moving convention center. I was always sick, in pain and usually tired.  I had hypertension, borderline diabetes, joint pain and many other physical problems. I tried diets, always losing and gaining the same 10-20 pounds.  I even went so far as going on drugs under a doctor’s supervision.  After two years of failure, I marched into a library (more like a waddle, actually) and read how to get slender and healthy.

I educated myself on all new eating habits and lifestyle changes.  In one year, I lost over 100 pounds and have kept them off for over 3 and a half decades.  I became instrumental in helping people not only lose weight but with diseases, some even terminal, get healthy, naturally.

Always giving advice whether anyone wanted it or not (to this day, I still do that… now that I think about it) Demonstrating that living in a “Preventative” manner, with fun and humor was the healthiest way to live.  Helping others soon became my life’s passion.  I am now a “Certified” Health Coach and can help people reach their health goals in a very slow, easy, fun manner.  In addition I’m proud to announce that I will be attending classes and becoming certified in Ayurveda, one of the oldest forms of natural healing in the world.

There is a saying “everything old is new again” and that is certainly true with Nutrition.  Because of all the BIG money involved with GMO’s, an extremely busy life style and stress, we have gotten away from eating organic, naturally and properly.  So most of my coaching sessions begin with the basics and that is where I’d like to start with today’s interview… from the beginning…how to eat “properly.”
