Though blinded, the irrepressible Job recovered from his wounds and began facing a new set of obstacles with his characteristic humor and resolve. He married the girl of his dreams, hunted elk, climbed Mt. Rainier, graduated college with honours, influenced countless people around him, and was looking forward to being a father—before his life was tragically cut short by a hospital medical error.

Vera’s raw, often funny, and heartfelt account of his friend’s life offers readers a way to find hope in the middle of life’s raging storms.

The biggest film in America has a companion story you must know. “American Sniper” follows the life of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, the most deadly sniper in American history and his Navy SEAL Team 3 brothers. What people don’t know is that Chris risked his life to save Ryan’s.

The movie version of “American Sniper” was adapted from Kyle’s New York Times #1 best selling book, which was dedicated to Kyle’s NAVY Seal teammate and close friend Ryan “Biggles” Job (pronounced Jobe), a central character in both the book and film. Hollywood actor Jake McDorman portrayed Ryan Job in the film version, while “American Sniper” co-producer Bradley Cooper plays Kyle, although it captures the impact of their story, it is not entirely accurate.

Robert Vera, who was also friendly with Chris Kyle, says that the runaway success of the film “American Sniper” and seeing his friends portrayed on the silver screen has taken him by surprise. “The movie was a little eerie for me, it was like seeing a ghost because Jake McDorman actually looked and sounded a lot like Ryan”.

In the movie, Ryan Job (or “Biggles,” played by Jake McDorman) is shot in the head and blinded by Syrian sniper Mustafa but survives long enough to propose to his girlfriend. He dies soon after, and that death defines Kyle’s fourth tour in Iraq and spurs him to seek revenge against Mustafa. In reality, according to Kyle’s memoir, the Navy discharged Biggles from service following his injury. The ex-SEAL attended college, began a career, and got married before dying following facial reconstruction surgery while his wife was pregnant with their first child.*

Chris Kyle and Ryan Job were SEAL teammates on SEAL Team 3. The two were on a rooftop in Ramadi, Iraq when Job was shot in the face and gravely wounded by an enemy sniper. Job miraculously survived and was saved by Chris who came to his rescue but was rendered permanently blind in the incident, captured in one of the movie’s most harrowing sequences.

Ryan Job’s real life story is more complex, more inspiring and in some ways even more tragic than Chris Kyle’s, says Vera, who pays tribute to his fallen friend in a new book; “A Warrior’s Faith: Navy SEAL Ryan Job, a Life-Changing Firefight, and the Belief That Transformed His Life” “I hope that readers will come away as inspired by Ryan’s courage, determination and faith, as I was,” Vera said.

Shortly after returning stateside for facial reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation, Ryan Job settled with his wife in Scottsdale, where he attended Scottsdale Bible Church, became involved in wounded veteran’s causes and befriended Robert Vera. Vera, a former U.S. Senate aide on military affairs, trained with Ryan in the hills around Phoenix for Job’s blind hike to the summit of Mt. Rainier. At 14, 411 feet Mt. Rainier is one the most challenging and deadliest peaks in America. Also, an avid hunter, the totally blind former SEAL also managed to successfully hunt a massive 980-pound bull elk. Vera and Job were close friends and trained together to race Ironman triathlons. Vera gave the eulogy at Ryan’s funeral in Scottsdale that was attended by several hundred Navy SEALs from around the globe. He was also in attendance at Kyle’s funeral service in Texas in 2013.

“A Warrior’s Faith” chronicles’ Job’s amazing life from the time he was wounded and made blind to his summit climb of Mt. Rainier and his elk hunting adventure, all while blind, his unstoppable spirit and unshakable faith, until his tragic death in 2009. It is available now, and Vera is available for book signings and speaking engagements.

Robert Vera has enjoyed a twenty-year career in the banking industry. In 2006 he took a leap of faith to follow his dream to become an entrepreneur. Robert serves on a number of non-profit boards and as a mentor to returning veterans. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Boston College. He is married with two children and lives in Phoenix, Arizona. His life has been forever changed by knowing and telling Ryans story and example of true faith and living in knowingness.

Polytheism is very much a reasonable position nowadays, and The Case for Polytheism explains why.

The philosophy of religion has been dominated by monotheists and atheists for centuries now. But, polytheism deserves to be restored to its respected position, and The Case for Polytheism sets out some reasons why. By developing a notion of godhood and employing a set of novel and neglected arguments, the author constructs a rigorous but accessible case for the existence of multiple gods.

Gentle and respectful, and at the same time rigorously logical, Dillon’s argument shows why philosophers, theologians, and thinking people of all kinds, should take polytheism seriously. Author: Steven Dillon has been writing philosophical treatises for over five years, spending time in a Roman Catholic seminary where he majored in philosophy. He works as a Certified Nursing Assistant at a nursing home, and lives with his wife in South Dakota.

I’m the second oldest in a large, Catholic family; and spent much of my childhood moving between the States and Germany due to my father’s service in the Army. I now live with my beautiful wife in a small town in South Dakota where I work as a C.N.A. at a nursing home. I’ve always taken a keen interest in studying philosophy and religion. I entered seminary after high school and studied to be a Catholic priest, majoring in philosophy on campus. But, after continual exposure to scholarly critiques of Catholicism and Christianity, I became disenchanted with both of them and left everything behind for the time to soul search and research. Long story short, I ended up finding Paganism to be true, good and beautiful, and have been Pagan ever since. I’ve taken my love of philosophy with me over the years, and it’s inspired me to write about my developing perspectives. The Case for Polytheism will be my debut publication, being released on Feb 27th; and highlights what is for me the most interesting area of philosophy: the philosophy of religion. My work focuses on synthesizing Aristotle’s school of thought with Pagan ideas such as Polytheism and Reincarnation.

Only 24 weeks in the womb, born in the bathroom, this baby was to change her mother’s life and the lives of others. They told her that her daughter would not make it, but Mama Maria would not give up, and with energy, healing love, she gave her baby life.

The bond between mother and child is one without equal in the history of sentient life. It encompasses avenues of connection which, to this day, have yet to be fully understood. But for Marie Delanote, the outermost shrouds of that bond were briefly lifted when her daughter Elouisa entered our world following a mere twenty-four-week pregnancy. The infant weighed little more than a pound, and in the ensuing fight for survival, hidden spiritual ties between Marie and Elouisa became increasingly manifest. Together they uncovered the chakras, mental triggers, and resultant physical events that once led to the crippling nightmare of premature birth, but would now serve as the only tools by which they could survive and outlast the shared threat to their lives.

Marie Delanote was born in West Flanders, Belgium and relocated with her British husband and children to Essex in the UK in 2011. Her early years were dedicated to music, and she completed a masters degree in music/double bass at the ‘Lemmensinstituut’, Royal College of Music in Belgium. In addition to these academic feats, from a very early age, she had a fascination in spiritual practices.

Over the years, numerous courses have enhanced her knowledge and abilities and Marie has been a practicing healer for many years. She provides one on one consultations in the following – Chakra-therapy, Crystal-therapy, working with Ethereal Crystals, Past Life Regression therapy, Medium ship, Reading of Oracle cards ‘Belline’ and ‘Lenormand’, Numerology.

Her experiences and practices led her towards writing and her first book “The Healing Of The 1lb Baby” was published in November 2014. The book captured the attention of the media in the UK and the USA.

He wrote The Simple Truth: Meditation for the Modern World in 2009 after which he founded The Simple Truth Project where he teaches Modern Meditation privately as well as through public workshops.

Jeff has survived 8 brain surgeries that removed more than 22 tumors in as many years. He has witnessed the evolution of neuroscience through each surgery first hand. His first operation used a hand-drill in 1992. His most devastating operation removed six brain tumors in 2009. His latest surgery lasted 14 hours, after which he could not see, speak or stand.

Through each, Jeff has spent months watching his own brain heal and reboot itself. He has spent years exploring how meditation can help to overcome the issues he has faced, and continues to amaze doctors and researchers with his ability to heal, to recover and to let go so that he can move beyond and live his life.

He now teaches others how to transform their lives through Modern Meditation – the union of traditional Eastern Meditation Practices and Western Science. It is a practice that refines traditional meditation techniques to better respond to the realities of the world we all live in, and to create transformational change in their lives.
