21-13 Entre Life’s Creation.

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from March 30th

Birth, what a wonder, a gift, but also what a pain. My daughter just gave birth to my first Grandson, we are elated in welcoming this little guy, but what difficulty she had to go through to have him. I myself had horrible birth experience, commas, forceps, epidurals, C sections, and apparently, I am allergic to pregnancy, I did it 3 times.

How fast we forget the pain and struggle in bringing our children into the world, if we remembered would we do it again? Once that babe is in our arms, we seam to forget the struggle of getting them here. Like a metaphor for life, getting through the struggles and embracing that birth of a new life.

Maybe it is meant to be hard so we will appreciate the gift at the end of it. Our own rebirth, a birth of a child, we value it more with the struggle, for we know what it took to get us there. Life is an inside job, and a process that never ends, just grows as we do. The willingness to go through it all only expands our abilities and allows us to see the gift of life in a more valued and abundant way.

If we value life and our own lives when we have experienced the struggle, why do we still see so many killings? Why are people so eager to dismiss life so easily? If we have known how hard it is to come into the world, the struggles of growing up and all the heartache and pain one goes through in life, why would murder be on your mind?

https://soundcloud.com/plv-radio/21-13-entre-lifes-creation

I feel we have lost the value of life, the value of the gift of living. The easier we make it for everyone, the more they struggle with their own existence. Life is about experiences, about death and rebirth, about participating in all aspects of life and in the GRATITUDE of this gift we have been given.

Media has become our slave driver, we bend break and fold to the expectations of what the media is dictating. You must be good looking, you must be rich, and famous and everyone has to want to be you…..but, a big but, when they follow that path they realize how empty it is, how very unfulfilling.

You are FLAWSOME just the way you are, there is no one like you and that is the point. Leave comparison, competition and dictation behind, and live the gift of your life with all its ups and downs, to the fullest it can be.

When you are willing to see life for the gift it is, then you understand how to embrace and value it, for truly it took a lot to come here, so now live it abundantly and with respect.

C21-12 Heather Dugan & The Friendship Upgrade.

Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest Heather Dugan, on air from March 23rd

Heather Dugan, author of The Friendship Upgrade: Trade Clickable Connections for Friendships that Matter.  We’ve grown disconnected. Many of us live amidst strangers as we tally up Facebook friends-the new collectable you don’t have to dust and settle for “Soon!” It’s often easier for an adult woman to find an online date than a real-life friend in her own neighbourhood.  The Friendship Upgrade illuminates the growing issue of personal isolation and equips women to exchange clickable connections for real-time, face-to-face friendships. Through the deeply personal stories of real women, it examines our varied routes to isolation–divorce, an emptied nest, increased mobility–as well as the impact of technology, over-efficient living, and the patterned choices that can root us in chronic loneliness.  More importantly, this book provides both a roadmap to creating anchoring connections and a model for building community with the disconnected “you go first” women around us who are silently hoping for the same outstretched hand.

Women need friendship. Not in an unhealthy, life preserver sort of way but in the organically good capacity of illuminating grow lights. In the right light, solid female friendships counter-balance the uneven weight of major life transitions and help us to be our best selves often, better people than we dreamed we might be.

Who notices the wives and children of our military and Veterans? On this show we look deep into it and who is stepping up to help. Military wives on the homefront have to hold it all together being both parents and a superwoman while their husbands serve their country. Are they not serving too?

Apologies Nicole’s name in the video is miss spelled, should be Gebhardt.

Nicole says

“I am a military spouse passionate about uplifting, inspiring, and encouraging all fellow military spouses”.

My own family of 8, with six children ranging from ages 7 to 16, moves every 18 months! We have moved 7 times in the last 8 years, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. We are currently at Tyndall AFB and a part of the 1st Air Force family where I serve as the Key Spouse. We came to Tyndall last summer from Washington, DC where we were stationed at the Pentagon. It was with great honour I was able to serve as the Vice President of the National Guard Bureau Spouses Club, the Programs Chair of the Air Force Officers’ Spouses Club of Washington, D.C., a Committee Member on the Spouse Advisory Council of the Military Officers Association of America, and an Arlington Lady.

Jen Satterly

I am a veteran spouse. I wasn’t with my husband when he deployed on hundreds of missions around the world. I was not with him when he experienced a trauma so deep and losses so profound that his switch for compassion and empathy was flipped off which resulted in several failed marriages and an adult son he rarely speaks to. I met Tom after his time in service and fell in love with an amazing man who also suffered intense and constant physical and emotional pain. We have fought his silent war off the battlefield for nearly 8 years now, and it’s been challenging to say the least for us both. But through our struggles we both have grown further than we knew capable and now work to share our struggles and successes with other military and veteran families. Because there is a light at the end of that very dark tunnel and there is hope for healing.

I’m Jen, the Co-Founder/CEO of All Secure Foundation that I started with my husband Tom Satterly (retired Delta Force CSM) to help others who are going through what we’re going through manage and heal from PTSD.

SDM21-12 Dr Terje Simonsen Philosophy of the Paranormal

Self Discovery Mediums with Sara Troy and her guest Dr. Terje Simonsen, on air from March 23rd

Dr. Terje Simonsen discusses his research and philosophy of the paranormal going back to ancient times. He notes that, while there are nearly 150 years of scientific research in parapsychology, the field is still marginalized within academia. He also talks about the responses to the paranormal within the field of theoretical physics. He focuses on the practical applications of psi, and on the personal meaning of psi abilities.

A Short History of (Nearly) Everything Paranormal

Terje G. Simonsen is a Norwegian Historian of Ideas and non-fiction author, specializing in esoteric and occult. He is educated at the University of Oslo, where he also has taught introductory courses on philosophical and literary works. His dissertation on the anthroposophical journal Janus received much acclaim and was released as a book in 2001. In the prestigious series The Cultural Library and The World’s Holy Scriptures, Simonsen has published essays on I and Thou, the mystically inspired main work by the dialogue philosopher Martin Buber, and The First Book of Enoch, an esoteric text from antiquity. Simonsen has received several grants, and is a full member of ESSWE, the European Society for the Study of Western Esotericism.

In addition, Simonsen is educated in gestalt therapy and psychosynthesis, and his varied career has also included stints in psychiatry, kindergarten, museums, security, catering etc. Today he works as a freelance writer. Simonsen is also a café aficionado, salsa dancer, amateur pianist and chess player.

Since childhood Simonsen has been fascinated by ‘magical’ phenomena as telepathy, clairvoyance, precognition, and healing—an interest based on some peculiar experiences of his own as well as strange stories told by friends and family. Later, this fascination led to extensive forays into esoteric and occult traditions, where such phenomena are not seen as chimera but as part of expanded consciousness, and also into the science about such phenomena, i.e. parapsychology. The result is the present book, an entertaining, colorful and multifaceted good read, endorsed by several of the world’s foremost experts in the field – Dean Radin, Stanley Krippner, Jeffrey Mishlove, Jeffrey Kripal etc. – as well as a number of other authors and critics, as e.g. the Pulitzer-prize winner Teresa Carpenter and the New York Times bestselling fantasy-author Herbie Brennan.
