C22-38. Tenzin Rose Six months TO LIVE lets Travel

Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest Doug “Tenzin” Rose, on air from September 13th

My New book is available free. True story about a man who doctors said would die within six months but went traveling around the world instead. That was four years ago.

Albert Einstein said, “Once you accept the universe as being something expanding into an infinite nothing which is something, wearing stripes with plaid is easy.” Doug “Ten” Rose has metaphorically worn stripes with plaid all his life. He has thirty years experience raising funds at street level for various causes, often while working under very adverse personal circumstances. He has also invented and directed charity projects involving rock stars, pro sports teams, a governor, mayors, and senators. These projects raised awareness and, in some cases, large sums of money for others. Much of this was done while Tenzin (”Ten”) himself remained homeless and panhandled for food money on the streets.

He has recently written two amazing books, Fearless Puppy on American Road and Reincarnation Through Common Sense. True to Ten’s form, all author profits from these books will be donated to sponsor Wisdom Teachers (beginning with but not exclusive to Buddhist Nuns and Monks).  Ten is a graduate of heroin addiction and death, as well as thirty-five years and over a hundred thousand miles of ground travel without ever driving a car, having a bank account, telephone, or a bill in his name. He may be the most comedic smartass as well as one of the most entertaining survivors of the hitchhiking adventurers that used to cover America’s highways. The term “crazy wisdom” is often used, but rarely meets its match the way it does in this author. Ten Rose and his work are a vibrant part of the present and future as well as an essential remnant of a vanishing breed.

AK22-38. The Silent Count by E. A. Smiroldo

Authors Kiss with Sara Troy and her guest Elizabeth A. Smiroldo, on air from September 13th

Nuclear engineer E. A. Smiroldo talks about her cli-fi (climate-change fiction) thriller The Silent Count

E. A. Smiroldo, novelist, musician and nuclear engineer. Her novel The Silent Count is a cli-fi (climate-change fiction) thriller about a young nuclear engineer who comes up with a daring plan to combat climate change, but faces unintended consequences as she fights for her family, her career, and for humanity. E.A. talks about her background in science as a nuclear engineer specializing in weapons nonproliferation, and the inspiration for this climate-change thriller.

E.A. Smiroldo, a native of Washington DC, has witnessed how politics corrupts and skews human perspectives on what’s right and wrong. E.A. says humanity is dangerously close to the brink of a real climate crisis.

  • How a nuclear weapon could indeed change weather patterns
  • How the premise of her book, The Silent Count, was inspired by a real textbook and valid science
  • Weapons nonproliferation
  • Climate change and is it too late?
  • People think energy and fuel is expensive now, just wait…
  • If countries like France can make climate headway, then the US can, too
  • Her book is satire but in the same spirit as movies like Don’t Look Up, is a cautionary tale
  • Greenwashing – corporations and people do this to feel good but it doesn’t really help
  • Capturing carbon from coal, and other ideas we should consider
  • We need to make sure leaders are doing things for the betterment of the people, not for poll numbers
  • Music and how it influenced her writing
  • One of the main characters is a musician — E. A. infused a lot of her experiences from the gigs she played as a musician
  • The local DC music scene — the hardcore punk scene in Washington DC were on the forefront of the straightedge movement, like her main characters
  • The soundtrack for The Silent Count, available on YouTube

ABOUT THE BOOK:

She’s determined to stop climate change before it’s too late…

Nuclear engineer Dara Bouldin’s life is a mess. She’s paying off her dad’s gambling debts, reeling from a broken engagement, and practically invisible at the energy research agency where she works. Meanwhile, her ex Jericho’s latest single is racing up the charts and her handsome new colleague Dmitri is friendly with everyone but her. All around them, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters have become the norm. But Dara has an audacious plan to reverse climate change, if only someone would listen.

Little does she know, someone at the CIA has been paying attention. And when the public demands action, Dara gets the chance to turn her dream into reality, with the blessings of Congress and the President. Things are looking up. That is until she discovers a secret that thrusts her into the center of a global conflict that could rewrite history, in dire ways she never intended. Things are going to change, big time. And the countdown has already begun. Be careful what you wish for, Dara.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

E. A. Smiroldo is a novelist, musician, and a nuclear engineer. She is the author of the debut novel The Silent Count, which blends her scientific expertise as a nuclear engineer specializing in weapons nonproliferation, with real-world inspired drama. A Washington DC native, she’s also a Washington Area Music Association Award-nominated singer-songwriter and has won prizes in writing competitions sponsored by the Bethesda Literary Festival and the International Screenwriters’ Dig. After placing in the latter, she optioned the treatment for a screenplay with X-ray Media.

22-38 God Bless the Queens Journey Home.

Queen Elizabeth II has passed and is now riding her horses with glee in the after life.

May Queen Elizabeth’s journey home be one of love and peace, for she has served us so well, for now, it is her time to sleep.

Born April 21, 1926 – September 9, 2022, the Queen a cherished Sovereign gave her all to her subjects, dedicating her life to being of services and representing Commonwealth in all she did.

She said, “My whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service.” and she gave her life to that service and did us proud. Now that King Charles 111 will replace her role, but can he replace her grace, tenacity, joy, humour and commitment to the people?

Let us reflect on our own service to life, our own commitment and passion in our purpose just as she did? Can we in our meaningful purpose be as diligent as she was, for she was an example of that diligence, dedication, grace and commitment like no other, can we rise ourselves up to represent something important in our own lives? The invitation is there, may we do it with the same respect, dedication, humour and grace as she did.

Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; 21 April 1926 – 8 September 2022) was Queen of the United Kingdom from 6 February 1952 until her death.[a] Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the second-longest recorded of any monarch of a sovereign country. At the time of her death, Elizabeth was queen of 14 other Commonwealth realms in addition to the UK.[b]

Elizabeth was born in Mayfair, London, as the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth). Her father acceded to the throne in 1936 upon the abdication of his brother, King Edward VIII, making Elizabeth the heir presumptive. She was educated privately at home and began to undertake public duties during the Second World War, serving in the Auxiliary Territorial Service. In November 1947, she married Philip Mountbatten, a former prince of Greece and Denmark, and their marriage lasted 73 years until his death in April 2021. They had four children together: Charles IIIAnne, Princess RoyalPrince Andrew, Duke of York; and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.

When her father died in February 1952, Elizabeth—then 25 years old—became queen regnant of seven independent Commonwealth countries: the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South AfricaPakistan, and Ceylon (known today as Sri Lanka), as well as Head of the Commonwealth. Elizabeth reigned as a constitutional monarch through major political changes such as the Troubles in Northern Ireland, devolution in the United Kingdom, the decolonisation of Africa, and the United Kingdom’s accession to the European Communities and withdrawal from the European Union. The number of her realms varied over time as territories have gained independence and some realms have become republics. Her many historic visits and meetings include state visits to China in 1986, Russia in 1994, the Republic of Ireland in 2011, and visits with five Popes. She reigned for 70 years and Head of State of 15 Countries welcomed UK’s 56 prime ministers at the time of her death.

Phillip came to me today,

and said it was time to go.

I looked at him and smiled,

as I whispered that “I know”

I turned and looked behind me,

and saw I was asleep.

All my Family were around me,

and I could hear them weep.

I gently touched each shoulder,

with Phillip by my side.

Then I turned away and walked,

with My Angel guide.

Phillip held my hand,

as he lead the way,

to a world where King’s and Queens,

are Monarch’s every day.

I was given a crown to wear

or a Halo known by some.

The difference is up here,

they are worn by everyone.

I felt a sense of peace,

my reign had seen its end.

70 years I had served my Country,

as the peoples friend.

Thank you for the years,

for all your time and love.

Now I am one of two again,

in our Palace up above.

Rest in peace ??1926-2022

By Bob Clark

Fare well our one of a kind Queen

RG22-37. Heather Dugan on Divorce & Kids

Raising our gifted children with Sara Troy and her guest Heather Dugan, on air from September 6th

“Children can move forward, and parents must be good role models for their kids. This can turn what could be a devastating experience into an opportunity for growth and a fulfilling future. Use your strength of honesty with your teenagers. Being honest with them about the situation helps to normalize what is happening and encourages them to be honest with you. Provide plenty of opportunities for them to express themselves and to talk,” believes Dugan, a resilient single mom of three. Heather’s devastating isolation following multiple family deaths and a lengthy divorce sparked a personal quest: to solve her own loneliness. She is the founder of Cabernet Coaches®, social access and self-betterment group for women.
