C17-37 Fantasy and Illusion of Cyber Relationships

Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest  John Krotec, ON AIR FROM September 12th

In the search for acceptance, sexual assault survivor John Krotec discusses his own personal experience trying to find love in the cyber-world. He will detail how he first found the romantic cyber world and the pitfalls he encountered. His reactions to his own behaviour while in the cyber-world nearly ruined his personal life. He will talk about the nature of the cyber world, a place where because of technology you can be anybody or anything you want to be. It is his belief that such cyber-relationships are not real, just fantasy and illusion and, if not kept in check (the proper perspective), can erode the human spirit.

It really was a search for acceptance and satisfaction…things I was not finding in my own personal relationships and job…brought on by serious low self-esteem…

“Putting Out The Self-Loathing Fire”
The journey of self-actualization (I call it the struggle for authenticity) is lifelong. For me and for millions of others, it can be and has been excruciatingly emotionally painful at times. However, for those struggling, there is a way out. It’s not easy.  It takes brutal honesty and courage to overcome.  After months of one-on-one therapy, I believe the only way to truly self-actualize is to dig deep, to introspect, and to do the hard work that will erase the negative limiting self-beliefs that can and will continue to reinforce self-loathing. You will have setbacks and you will make mistakes (I certainly have), but you will have small victories, too. I ultimately belief these small accomplishments can be built upon and lead you to success.
My own personal struggles dealing with self-loathing were the result of two significant events in my early life, events that took place before the age of fifteen. The extreme self-loathing created by these significant events fueled an extreme need for acceptance and love–not self-acceptance and self-love–but finding acceptance and love from others. The first event, being sexually assaulted, destroyed many parts of my self-esteem. It was not good. It sucked. The second event further reinforced my feelings of inadequacy AND added even more psychological destruction to my already fragile sense of self. Without going into too much detail about it, let’s just say it concerned the behavior of a parent and it created more confusion for me on the important subject of marital fidelity.
I will be sharing my personal journey for self-actualization with you in the hopes that my story will help others suffering from similar circumstances and feelings.  One of the subjects that I will be exploring will be online relationships.  Drawing upon my own experiences, I hope to expose the pitfalls of looking for acceptance and love in the digital world, a world full of fantasy and illusion. I know firsthand that millions are suffering.  In the process, I hope to heal myself and my marriage and not add any more fuel to my self-loathing fire.
Please join me…it’s time to live a real life…

C17-13a The Raunchy Humour of Anthony Torino,

Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest Anthony Torino, on air from March 28th

14712690_669088699934271_7752642407640138908_o

Have you ever roller-coaster from serious to laughing in 0.2 milliseconds?  If you haven’t, then you haven’t seen stand-up comedian Anthony Torino in action.  He is an expert at making audiences laugh at every day thought-provoking topics like raising kids, preventing work injuries, incarceration, ageing, society, behaviour problems, and working towards the American Dream – just to name a few.

Growing up in the military (his dad was USAF) Torino was raised primarily on military bases.  As a child – cancer got in his way.  As a teen – histoplasmosis got in his way.  As a 15-year-old, he was told not to lift weights because it would kill him.  He lifted weights anyway, and the experience saved his life.  He became an athlete, which transformed his attitude and view of the world.

At the tender age of 44, Torino made a decision to begin working as a comedian.  He was told it would take 15 years to become a headliner at the comedy club level.  He achieved that in five years.

Torino’s background in healthcare, owning businesses, chasing his dreams, physical fitness, relationships, and his own Air Force experience is comical subjects he warms up with – what comes next is anybody’s guess!

Torino has appeared on Showtime’s Comedy Warriors: Healing Through Humor, and performed at Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club (sold-out show), Improv Comedy Club, LOL Comedy Club, and the Laugh Factory.

Some of Torino’s Xtra special gifts include: speaking Redneck; creating comedy sketches, sitcoms, and screenplays; teaching comedy, writing short stories and books, and radio personality.

As a motivational speaker, Torino’s personal experiences and background as both an Occupational Therapist and Professional Counselor enables him to candidly talk about being a survivor, preventing work injuries, study habits, attaining goals, dealing with death and grieving, overcoming physical deficits, incarceration/loss of freedom, relationships, purpose-based living, and more.

Torino is a guy you will like.  If you don’t – well, maybe you’re just not good with his kind of people.

Blackbird Anthem is a Southern Rock band from the heartland of Florida. Their music is a blend of southern rock, outlaw country, and blues. Fronted by lead singer/songwriter Adam Martin, Blackbird Anthem’s songs are tales of love, loss, regrets, and redemption. A U.S. Army combat veteran, Adam taught himself to play guitar after returning home from Iraq. A few years later, he began writing songs and performing locally. He formed Blackbird Anthem with David Bruce and later added Cody Owens on drums. Their debut EP, Stories I’ve Never Told, was released in early 2016 and is available worldwide across multiple digital media platforms including iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify. Their debut single, Come Kiss Me was featured on the syndicated radio program “The Iceman Show” and their music is in normal rotation on HV Rebel Country Radio as well as many other internet radio stations. As both a solo artist and with his band, Adam has performed throughout Florida and southeast Texas. Notable stages include Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in Nashville, TN and House of Blues in Orlando, FL. Blackbird Anthem has opened for several national touring artists and played at multiple music festivals in Florida and Texas including CountryFlo, Texas Frog Fest, Vetfest, Texas Aggie Vetfest, Delandapalooza, and more. Blackbird Anthem is also a finalist in the Runaway Country Music Fest Artist Search 2017. They have recorded with all-star musicians Darin Favorite (lead guitarist for Tracy Lawrence), James Cook (bass player for Luke Bryan), Kent Slucher (drummer for Luke Bryan), and Jake Clayton.

In February 2017, Blackbird Anthem released their song 22 as a tribute to the 22 Veterans a day who die by suicide. All proceeds from 22 will be donated to the Lone Survivor Foundation. Blackbird Anthem is on the album “Battle Cry: Songs of America’s Heroes” released by Pacific Records in March 2017. Their song “Tonight We Ride” is featured. Blackbird Anthem has returned to the studio and begun work on their full-length album, Southern Ground.

TSM 17-09 John Krotec Speaks on the Greenzone Hero & Bravo 748

Their Story Matters with Sara Troy and her guest John Krotec, on air from February 28th

unnamed

We encourage every business in America to join GreenZone Hero ranks.  A GreenZone Hero “Veteran-Friendly” Business honors veterans and themselves.  They have a high standard of commitment to others AND to the US economy. They know it is the “right thing to do.”

Our Motivation

To create commerce for American businesses that honor and serve our veterans.  To build sustainable residual funding for our Nonprofit Ambassadors.

We Believe that appreciation and recognition and commerce matters!  The veterans who selflessly served our Country deserve it and the businesses that provide veteran friendly goods and services deserve it, too!

We serve those who serve by providing a platform for them to connect with one another.  GreenZone Hero provides tangible recognition and appreciation and commerce for both businesses and veterans – a place where veterans in particular and, all Americans in general, can find, select, and show their support by patronizing businesses that openly and proudly “do the right thing“!

We employ, serve, and are even a Veteran-owned company.

aaeaaqaaaaaaaai8aaaajgy4ntdhzwfjlwy0mdqtndlizc1in2q1lwqzytmxndu3yjk1nwJohn Krotec.  At 11 years old while on a neighborhood sleepover, John was sexually assaulted by an older boy. Blaming himself and frightened by physical threats, John hid the traumatic event for over 40 years – never talking about it with anyone.

Periodically over that time, he used alcohol to soothe his pain and to numb himself from the sickening memory. An automobile accident in 2012 not only changed his life but caused the trauma to resurface. Immediately after the accident, John’s life began to spiral out of control.
Episodes of anger and resentment led to the selling of his small business and to the disintegration of his 20-year marriage. John was out of control. His overspending and anger led his wife Ann to begin divorce proceedings, and by Christmas of 2015, John was in a crisis situation.
One particularly bad evening, he sought help from a suicide prevention hotline which led him to individual counseling and 41-weeks of Cognitive Behavior Therapy. He also visited a neurologist who was able to treat his medical condition, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with CBD’s, hemp-based prescription drugs.

With a firm spiritual belief, talk-therapy, neurofeedback, and with hard work, John’s life and marriage is on the mend. Using his new focus, he also created an innovative company, GreenZone Hero, that changes the way veteran-commerce is viewed by American businesses. Additionally, his Task Force Zen project (currently in the planning stage) will help those who have suffered traumatic events find programs that will help them recover without the stigma often associated with trauma.

Bravo748 and GreenZone Hero are teaming up to honor all branches of American Combat Veterans and Gold Star Families. As companies connected to serving and working with Veterans, our hope is to share publicly and collectively, the truth of what it means to pay the ultimate sacrifice, laying one’s life down for friends. Military combat men and women and their families live with courage, commitment, and character each and every day.

PVR 17-05 Sir Ken Miller & Bobby Henline speak Healing Humor

Positive Vibrations Roundtable with Sara Troy and her guests Sir Ken Miller & BoBby Henline, on air from January 31st.

positive-vibrations-roundtable-2-jpg-bobby

Two totally different people with different lives, but both of them know that laughter has saved their lives. We speak to how humor can not only heal but makes it easy for others to understand the challenging journey your on in life.

With Ken battling cancer again striving to find humor in it and Booby facing more operations for his burns, humor is the only way they get through it.

Sir Ken Miller was born very young in Brooklyn, New York on a September Labor Day at 7:11a.m. His mother was there, and his father was working in Buffalo as an entertainer. He learned at an early age to be somewhat independent. He entered the world crying after the doctor slapped his tush. His mother told him a joke. He stopped crying and started laughing.

book-coverWhile creating a ‘model’ for the ‘resort city of the future’ on assignment for a major insurance company, his firm predicted the growth of green development and the need for wellness through preventive medicine. These discoveries were a determining factor in his mission to bring better health to people worldwide and was in part, the inspiration to write Enter Crying, Exit Laughing©. His personal health challenges provided the experience and a funny collection of stories depicting his time in hospitals, clinics and ambulances.

Working with the United Nations he founded the National Committee for Habitat to help families worldwide obtain affordable and sustainable housing. In July 2001 His Majesty, Sheikh Anwar Mahmoud Mekkeen, King of Nubia and its Provinces knighted Miller for his humanitarian work. Hello Sir Ken. Miller lectures worldwide on the subject of marketing at universities, trade conferences, and for corporations. He has been interviewed on radio and television, authored several articles on marketing and co-authored Social Media Superstars.

As a 4-tour Iraqi War Veteran, Wounded Warrior, Comedian, and Motivational presenter, Bobby Henline’s story and lived experiences have been featured in numerous media, including the documentaries “Comedy Warriors: Healing Through Humor”, “Healing Bobby”, and “Weight of Honor”; on CNN, PBS KET, NPR, Today.com, and Time.com; Time Magazine, People Magazine, The Huffington Post, Guideposts, and The Nipawin Journal; as well as television, radio, and podcasts around the world. Henline is a retired Army Staff Sergeant, last serving with the 82nd Airborne Division. He spent 13 years in the Army, completing four tours in Iraq. While on his fourth tour in Iraq, three weeks after his arrival, an IED blast blew up his Humvee – April 7, 2007 is a day he will never forget. The four soldiers with him were killed, as he stumbled out of the wreck, a human torch. Extinguished by the soldier he had replaced in the Humvee, burns covered almost 40% of his body, bones in his face were fractured, and his head was burned to the skull. Put into a medically induced coma for two weeks, Henline was flown back to the states.
