BB26-13. Gayle Marie Morrison & The Clarity Compass

Building your business with Sara Troy and her guest Gayle Marie Morrison, on air from March 31st

Messaging Alchemy: Turning Your Story into a Business Magnet”
Every entrepreneur has a story, but few know how to craft it into a message that moves people to action. This episode unpacks the psychology and heart behind storytelling in business, how to turn your lessons, experiences, and even struggles into magnetic brand messaging that converts.
Your story is not just your past; it’s your positioning power. When told strategically, it transforms from a narrative into your most valuable marketing asset.

My “why” has always been rooted in transformation. I help purpose-driven entrepreneurs find their voice, own their story, and build businesses that reflect who they truly are. Through my own journey, I’ve learned that visibility without alignment leads to burnout, but when your message mirrors your mission, it becomes magnetic. Over the years, I’ve evolved from simply creating marketing strategies to guiding others through clarity, confidence, and conscious communication. What drives me now is witnessing that moment when someone realizes they can lead, serve, and prosper without compromising their authenticity. My work is about helping people be seen for who they are, not just what they sell, because that’s where true business growth and impact begin.

Through honest conversations, tough questions, and real human insights, we help organizations address challenges like trust-building, communication, engagement, leadership development, retention, and collaboration. We work primarily with executive leaders in mid-market, privately held companies ($10–50M revenue) and peer group leaders who are committed to elevating performance through trust, communication, and people-centered leadership.

BB26-06. Tina Baxter’s Nurse Shark Academy

Building your business with Sara Troy and her guest Tina Marie Baxter, on air from February 10th

My journey as an entrepreneur began with a side hustle. I started as a broke nursing student who needed extra cash so I taught CPR classes. I did not know anything about corporate contracts, cash flow, or marketing. It wasn’t until years later that I understood what being an entrepreneur meant and how nurses make excellent entrepreneurs.

As nurse business owners, many of us are used to following the rules, checking the boxes, and doing everything “by the book.” But in business, leadership looks different. It’s about courage — taking risks, making hard decisions, and standing firm in your vision.

Let’s be honest — comfort zones don’t create impact.

If you want to grow sustainably, you must lead courageously. Here are 3 ways to start:

 1. Raise Your Standards (and Your Prices)
Your experience and expertise deserve compensation that reflects your value. Review your rates and increase them by 10–20% for new clients — confidently, not apologetically.

 2. Set Boundaries That Protect Your Energy
Your time is your most valuable asset. Identify one boundary you’ve neglected — like limiting after-hours client messages — and start enforcing it this week.

 3. Make One Bold Move Toward Expansion
Growth requires boldness. Whether it’s hiring support, launching a new program, or stepping into visibility, do it even if you’re scared. Courage comes before confidence.

You didn’t start this business playing it small. You started to make an impact.

What courageous move are you making this month?

McDaniel College Seniors Receive “Dress for Success” Graduation Suits Through Philanthropic

Gift from 60-Year-Old Teammate Tom Green

— Students fitted at Men’s Wearhouse Westminster express gratitude and optimism as they prepare for life after football —

WESTMINSTER, Md., December 11, 2025 – More than a dozen McDaniel College football seniors stepped into their next chapter this weekend suited for success thanks to teammate Tom Green, the 60-year-old student-athlete whose story of resilience, reinvention, and community spirit continues to inspire the nation.

Green, owner of Northeast Pallet, LLC, a cancer survivor, and communications major, purchased suits, shirts, and formal footwear for 15 senior football players at Men’s Wearhouse in Westminster. Two groups arrived Saturday morning for personalized fittings, style guidance, and the opportunity to prepare professionally for their post-college careers.

“These young men have pushed me, supported me, and inspired me every single day,” Green said. “Helping them prepare for their next step in life is my way of giving back. They’re incredible leaders, and they deserve to walk into their future with confidence.”

Senior offensive lineman Carter Bucci, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education and pursuing a master’s in Special Education shared, “This is an amazing opportunity. I can’t thank Tom enough. I’m heading home to teach after graduation, and having a suit for interviews means a lot. Huge thank you to Tom and to Men’s Wearhouse for doing this for us.”

Running back KD, from Pittsburgh and majoring in Communications, said he felt both confident and grateful.  “I feel great in this suit. Thank you, Tom. This means a lot. As I go into communications work after graduation, this is exactly what I need.”

Senior Collier, a Florida native preparing to become a plumber after graduation added, “I appreciate your time. You’re the man, Tom. This really helps me as I get ready for what’s next.”

The fitting sessions were filled with energy, gratitude, and emotion as teammates supported each other, admired their new looks, and shared their plans for life after football ranging from teaching and trades to communications and public service.

Who Is Your Brand Really For? Hank Eder #BB 26-02.

Building Your Business with Sara Troy and her guest Hank Eder, on air from January 13th

Do Your Brand and Website Speak To Those You Serve, Or Is It All About You?

These days we hear a lot of talk about authenticity. It’s a cornerstone of trust. Of the big three, “know, like, and trust,” trust is the most important. Without it, the others don’t matter. What about your website? Do you come across authentically, but even more importantly, is it aimed at those you serve, rather than being all about yourself?
