Building a business with Sara Troy and her guest Rachel Lee, on air from April 16th
Join us for an insightful conversation with Rachel Lee as she shares about her journey as an artist, designer and creative entrepreneur. As a recovering people-pleaser, Rachel spent most of her earlier years being the version of her that everyone else wanted to see — in school, in work and in her earlier years of business. It wasn’t until she burned out that she realized that living her life this way wasn’t sustainable, and that something needed to change. After digging deep to find the answers within herself, she found a way to flip the script and use HER identity as a core pillar in everything that she does, instead of changing herself to fit into other people’s boxes. Today, Rachel believes that everyone should know and celebrate their difference, and this is the gift that she shares with her clients when she works together with them on their brand identity!
Rachel Lee is an artist, designer and brand stylist that helps entrepreneurs find the “sparkle” in their brand and develop a unique look that people recognize and REMEMBER you for! MORE HERE

Building Your Business with Sara Troy and her guest Leanne Hardinge, on air form February 13th
Where it all started
In 2000, while in Alice Springs, central Australia, I cared for a five-year-old boy named Tim. He faced big emotions and challenges, often acting out due to his fears. One day, at a Desert Park, we encountered a Frilled-neck Lizard. Its dramatic display, meant to intimidate yet comically small, made us laugh, inspiring the “Frilly Analogy.”
This analogy became our secret code. It helped Tim understand and reinterpret the actions of those around him, leading to significant improvements in his behavior. No longer did he struggle with bedwetting, emotional anxiety, or irrational thinking. He even stopped bullying his friend, learning to laugh at his own “Frilly” moments.
This approach aligns with the insights of Australian Neuroscientist Professor Selena Bartlett, who emphasizes the shift from blame and shame to empowerment through education. By educating children and parents, we can confront inter-generational abuse and bullying, providing tools to view such behaviors through a different lens.
The Frilly Analogy has not only transformed Tim’s life but has also proven effective in resolving workplace dysfunctions across Australia and Papua New Guinea over two decades. My career has focused on addressing inappropriate behavior and bullying, showing that those affected can carry these issues into their personal lives. The analogy has been a powerful tool in promoting emotional awareness and resilience, demonstrating that understanding and humor can indeed change behavior and mend broken trust.
Now it’s time for Frilly to help other children, just as it helped Tim.
CULTURE – COACHING – CHANGE: A Team Dynamicits who brings the insights to change the culture of your organization through no-frills coaching that embraces the strengths and diversity of the team.
Dynamicist (Collins English Dictionary) A person who investigates and researches dynamics. A new kind of scientist: not primarily an astronomer, not a fluid Dynamicist, not an applied mathematician, but a specialist in chaos.
Team Dynamicist sounds a fancy way of describing what I do but I kind of like it, especially the bit about being a specialist in chaos. It certainly sounds better than “getting under the hood and fine-tuning the motor” – which is essentially what I did for 40 years for various organisations across Australia and neighbouring countries.
For most of this time, I was employed in roles designed to change organisational culture to an environment where everyone is working to their strengths and enjoying their jobs. Do it well, with the leaders, and the returns in safety, morale, efficiency and the bottom line are enormous.
Unfortunately, most people come to me as a last resort, after having spent a fortune on “Seagull” consultants who fly in, survey everyone, squawk and fly out without fixing much.
I’m a bit different in that I get right in among the teams and their leaders (especially the leaders) with fresh eyes that enables them to gain new insights into their core problems and together develop actionable solutions that provides long term sustainable, duplicatable changes that continuously improve culture long after I have left.
Above all, I keep it simple. A No Frills philosophy leaves bruised egos and defensive behaviours at the door and allows everyone to concentrate on achieving positive change.
* The Frilly Analogy, which matches workplace behaviour to the behaviours of the Australian Frilled-neck Lizard, has proven a workplace favourite and gave rise to my No Frills messaging – as well as my new corporate branding.
