18-30 Tradition, do we keep them even if the are archaic?

Tradition, just because it was does that mean it still should be?

We follow traditions as if they are carved in stone, but just because they have been, does not mean they should be. Some traditions have totally lost their meaning, some so archaic they have no meaning anymore, yet we hold on to them for the fear of our world coming apart it f don’t.

I love the tradition of respect, of values and considerations. I love Christmas but it means something different for us, it became a tradition of family and friends, a togetherness in gratitude and love for our gift of life. I love the tradition of respecting our elders, our parents and the respect of opening a door for someone, of being courteous, of manners in general.

Some traditions have been modernized, so simply adjusted, but some held onto so tight as an excuse for their actions. Like child marriages, it is a tradition, and it is one that has to go. Husbands lording over their wives, one that has to go. Like non-equel pay, it has to go, also its a mans world, a tradition that needs to be very much adjusted.

There are so many things we need to look at in our daily lives as to why do we hold on to tradition? Is it fear of letting go, is it too easy to use them as an excuse? like it has always been this way so why change it now excuse, you need to change it because it is wrong. Some simply need to be adjusted, but many traditions have had their day and need to go bye bye.

Social media is a wonderful platform for meeting people and sharing what you have got. I have met some of the most wonderful people over these last few years through social media that are supportive and have become part of the family.

However, there are warnings with social media, and that is, do not cross the line, respect and at all times, holding back is needed, for if we just blurt out everything we feel in the moment we can offend very easily. I know you want to respond to that Tweet, that comment, but remember everyone is going to see it, and as we have witnessed, it can destroy you.

So do not post anything you are not willing to own, do not wish harm on others or send out hate media, for that will backfire on you. Always tweet, Facebook, etc with integrity and respect, and remember you are what you TWEET.

Social Media can be so beneficial on so many ways, it is a wonderful platform for meeting new people, it is a great platform for sharing your business, and it is a fabulous place to hold a conversation and share different perspectives.

Interaction is key, respond to people, comments in support of dialogue, share in support and keep good info moving forward, and invite people to see you and hear what you have to contribute to the world. See which platform is best for you and your business or the most friendly for your pleasure.

We need not be afraid on what info we put out there as long as will are always willing to own it.

Relationships and Trauma

Whether the trauma was physical, sexual, or emotional, the impact can show up in a host of relationship issues. Trust, intimacy and true love and support can feel out of reach for many trauma survivors.

Making sense of one’s place in society can seem overwhelming and can be filled with great anxiety. Relating to others unsuccessfully can leave the survivor feeling alone and lost. Trauma survivors often will re-experience unhealthy relationships and not understand why this occurs. The inner need to look for resolving of the trauma can lead one in a path of destructive and abusive companions. Even in a healthy loving relationship old trauma’s may surface in the form of depression, disorders, OCD, drug and alcohol use, feeling of insecurity, flashbacks, suicidal tendencies, etc.

Communication starts to be the most difficult challenge for relationships that have a trauma partner. Love may be hard for the partner to accept, there can be an overreaction to daily relationship challenges, a feeling of being ganged up on by partner, inability to communicate through an issue to the point of resolve and more.

Couples and individual sessions with a qualified Life Coach or Counsellor will further the understanding and start the healing process for couples suffering from a trauma in their relationship. Education of how the body reacts and what can be done to soften the feeling and emotions involved in the individual who had experienced the trauma will go a long way to the “Mastering of Trauma”.
