25-35. Into the Fall

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air NOW

Fall is on its way, though with 30-degree temperatures, you’d never know it. The season whispers of change, yet in the world around us, we’re also witnessing a different kind of fall, the fall of an empire. America isn’t just stumbling; it’s cascading into some of its darkest days, a sobering reminder that not all falls are gentle.

There’s also the heartbreak of watching Gaza’s fall, the devastation of genocide, the horrific loss of life, and the erasure of a people’s hope. It is a fall humanity should never accept, yet one we must witness with open eyes and an open heart if we are to ever rise together again.

But fall can also mean something beautiful: falling into place. It’s when the pieces finally align, when what once felt scattered finds its natural order. That’s the kind of fall I choose to embrace, one of the grounding, harmony, trusting, and coming together.

Finding our pace in life after chaos can be done by falling into a rhythm. We can fall into faith, letting trust replace fear when the future feels uncertain. We can fall into grace, extending compassion to ourselves and others when the world feels harsh.

And then there’s the sweetest fall of all—falling for someone. This October, I’ll be falling head over heels in love with my third grandson, a new life arriving just as the leaves turn and the air shifts. A reminder that even in uncertain times, there are moments that fill our hearts and make every fall worth the journey.

BB25-34. Damien Ross, “Fast-Track to Mortgage Freedom”

Building Your Business with Sara Troy and her guest Damien Ross, on air from August 26th

My passion for mortgage brokering comes from seeing too many families burdened by debt longer than they need to be. I believe everyone deserves the freedom and peace of mind that comes from being mortgage-free early, with a financial plan that builds lasting wealth. My mission is to guide people—whether first-time buyers or long-time homeowners—toward smart strategies that not only pay off their mortgage faster but set them up for a secure, comfortable future they can pass on to the next generation.

I grew up with two older brothers and incredible parents who taught me the value of hard work from a young age. I’ve been self-employed for most of my life, and I’ve always loved the hustle of running a business—looking ahead, setting goals, and achieving them.

My path to becoming a mortgage broker is a longer story, but the short version is this: I’ve always been drawn to real estate, and in my other businesses I genuinely enjoyed the numbers side—keeping the books in the black and making sure things ran efficiently. Over time, I realized that mortgage brokering combined my love for real estate, numbers, and helping people reach their goals. The more I learned about the profession, the more I knew it was the perfect fit.

Outside of work, I’m a family man with an amazing wife and a teenage daughter. We love the outdoors—camping, exploring, and getting out into the woods whenever we can.

FREE OFFER.

I offer a complimentary one-on-one session where we take a close look at your numbers and explore strategies tailored to your situation.  It’s a chance to get practical, personalized advice that can help you make informed decisions and move confidently toward your goals.

25-34. Giving & Receiving

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air NOW

You never know where your angels will come from. For much of my life, I found it hard to accept help, believing it meant weakness or that there was always an agenda behind it. But over the years—especially in my 13 years of podcasting—I’ve learned to surrender to the gift of receiving, understanding that allowing others to help is not only okay, it gives them the joy of fulfilling their own meaningful purpose.

Angels have shown up in many forms: friends, family, guests, and strangers, offering kindness, support, and unexpected blessings—sometimes financially, sometimes technical, sometimes simply the gift of time. These acts, freely given from the heart, have sustained me, allowing me to continue my work of sharing wisdom, telling stories, and standing for those whose voices need to be heard.

I’ve learned that true giving asks nothing in return, yet what’s given ripples forward in ways we may never see. Kindness, compassion, and support—whether through money, time, or encouragement—are the currency of a thriving humanity. We each have the power to be someone’s angel, and we each have angels to thank. Acknowledge them. Be one yourself. And remember, when you’re aware, you care—and once you care, you can never be unaware again.

Ignite your heart and soul with Sara Troy and her guest  Laila Woozeer, on air from August 26th

Laila Woozeer, author of the memoir, Not Quite White. Neither here, nor there; neither one, nor the other. What does it feel like to be an indescribable shade somewhere in between? Can you even exist in a binary world that seems so black-and-white? Why is there no easy way to describe someone who is a Welsh-French-Scottish-American-Indian-Mauritian?
Laila Woozeer, a mixed-race 28-year-old London-born writer and musician, shares a personal story of growing up in a rural white village in North Wales. Laila takes readers on a funny, vivid, and profoundly moving journey of discovering one’s own identity and belonging through her travels between Mauritius, the US and the UK, to make sense of the world and one’s place within it.

25-33. Don’t Worry Be Happy

Sara’s View Of Life with Sara Troy, on air from August 19th

Do you remember that wonderful song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFarlane? Oh, we need that song right now, don’t we? There’s a lot happening in the world right now, and so how do we find our happiness? How do we stop worrying? Sometimes we just have to step away from it all. Ignore it, not pretending it’s not there, but for a moment, putting a bubble around yourself and choosing to have happiness, to bring joy to others, and to be joyful in your own life. Sometimes that is exactly what we need. And it’s okay to say, “I just can’t deal with anything else today; I’m going to be happy.” What do you do to make yourself happy? Music is a wonderful thing, put on the right tunes, your body starts to move, your inner equilibrium begins to balance, and it lifts you up.
