TSM 17-004 The Little Dog That Could with Filippo Voltaggio

Their Story Matters with Sara Troy and her guest Filippo Voltaggio on air from January 24th

unnamed

What do Yoda, Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, James Bond’s Q, and Ciccina have in common?  They are all mentors.  Mentors train, motivate, plant ideas, bestow gifts, etc., and they appear when the student is ready.  All these mentors did exactly that, but that is where the similarities end.  Of all these mentors, Ciccina is the only one who isn’t a fictional character.

The Little Dog That Could is the amazingly true story of a man and the little dog, Ciccina, that came into his life as his mentor to help him understand the world beyond his human senses and to experience life, love and healing beyond his human understanding.

Author Filippo Voltaggio, who currently hosts the highly regarded “The LIFE CHANGES Show,” on BBS Radio, and is an internationally known singer, speaker and life coach, offers up his own story…how one little surprise package in fur and four legs transformed his life unexpectedly and put him on a path of self-discovery.

Ciccina and the book are both small in size and are unassuming, but they are packed with inspiring lessons, comical moments, and heart-tugging experiences that delight the reader and open up all new possibilities for expansion by the end of the adventure.

In The Little Dog That Could, Filippo brings to life the meaning of the adage, “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.” Two unlikely “bedfellows” meet by serendipity on a busy street one night, and that meeting transforms both of their lives forever. Through Ciccina, Filippo comes to experience real miracles that transcend time, space and logic.

Filippo helps people grasp the power of their sixth sense as he learned it from his little mentor. He shows how we too can expand beyond our traditional perception of a world that is far greater than we perceive on a daily basis.

A great holiday read and gift that unfolds like a classic “Hallmark” story, The Little Dog That Could isn’t just for dog and animal lovers. It’s for anyone who desires to connect to who they truly are and to become more than they ever thought they could be.

More On Filippo Voltaggio

filippo-voltaggio-author-the-little-dog-that-couldDuring his formative years, he was sharing everything he learned about self-improvement with his friends and family and has since become a leader in the Industry having parlayed that desire, ability and knowledge into a life pursuit, passion and career.  His interviews, books, speaking engagements and workshops take a unique approach by focusing on the lighter side of improving one’s life, self-esteem, as well as the connection with one’s purpose, making the process at once, fun, funny and transformational, profound and powerful.

Filippo’s work has a foundation in sound traditional business practices, having worked in junior management for one of the top 3 Fortune 500 companies, and from an artistic background, having sung, performed and acted on stage and on the big screen, for years.  Filippo also incorporates his love and experience of science and energetics, as well as the spiritual arts, thus incorporating science, art, music, humour and heart.

After many years of certifications, in the various esoteric fields, he now holds most dear his life coaching and hosting of the show, “The LIFE CHANGES Show,” which is host to a cornucopia of guests from famed celebrities and respected scientists and doctors to everyday people who are changing their lives, the lives of others, and/or the world in a positive way.  Filippo and his show are the recent winners of Barack Obama’s President’s Call to Service Award.  As a Life Coach he has created two workshops, “The RECALIBRATION,” and “The Life IMPROVment Workshop,” which are foundationally based on helping individuals, groups, corporations and organizations make positive and lasting changes from the ground up.

17-002 Podcasting/Video Blogging Etiquette

Join Sara Troy on Sara’s View of Life, on-air from January 10th

Being a radio blog host or Podcaster requires some skill and ability to bring the best out of your guest. It is not about you unless you are doing a show about you only even then if it does not speak to the masses with a topic of interest they will not listen to you.

Do not become a host because you want fame or money, it takes time from you and conviction, do it because you want to support others.

Rules of conduct when being a podcast guest. 1. Respond on time with the material your host needs for the show. 2. Understand your host's style and respect it or choose another podcast to go to. 3. Be on time for t

Being a guest on a media blog/podcast requires respect and gratitude, for someone is promoting you because they like what you stand for and doing to enhance the lives of others. You do not come demanding nor say “how many listeners” as that implies your not interested unless they have the numbers to serve you if you only serve one person that is what matters.

The authenticity of self and Sincerity in one’s service,  and in respect, and consideration for the time someone has taken out to interview should always be remembered. For some, this is a hobby but still costs them to produce, for some like us here at Self Discovery Media, it is a business, a serves that inspires, invites and guides people on their own journey in life.

With so many podcasting/video blogging out there today, one can be overwhelmed by who is doing what. Do not just go on air just because, but make sure the show genre represents you first and your story and work/topic, and that the interviewer has a style that suits you.

Many podcasts are now Video as well as audio, so if you are doing a video podcast, please make sure that you have good lighting, sound ( earplugs and a mic), and dress for the camera, clean and somewhat smart.

One must understand, THIS IS WORK, it takes time and commitment, respect, and the ability along with a passion, to listen and communicate with your listeners and guests.

If a host charges, it is because there have costs involved and maybe it is their full-time job, please respect their commitment and that it is their work and a service in promoting you and your work.

I Sara Troy am a host of over 2700 + shows personally and run a media-video/podcast network Self Discovery Media where we have over 3000 collective shows +. I am going to share some tips with you on being a guest on a show and also how to host your own shows.

TSM16/14 VASS: DISABLED to ABLE on the Mountain with Anne Bethune

Their Story Matters with Sara Troy and her guest Anne Bethune aired April 5th/16

VASScup-mar-13-2014-DRM-0636-email-1000x400

Anne Bethune has been living in Vancouver, BC, since she moved from Ontario in 1986 after graduating from Queen’s University in Occupational Therapy.  She arrived in BC with a budding career path as an Occupational Therapist (OT) and a passion/expertise for adaptive recreation.   As a young girl, Anne took on leadership roles as a camp counsellor, ski instructor, sailing instructor and leader in her school student council and athletics, including class valedictorian.

28 years ago, Anne brought with her to BC her extensive experience teaching sailing to people with disabilities in Ontario and the Caribbean, and she quickly stepped into her leadership in Vancouver, matched energy with Sam Sullivan, to hatch what is now the Disabled Sailing Association of BC at Jericho Sailing Center.  At this time, Anne worked at Shaughnessy Hospital as an OT with survivors of traumatic spinal cord injury while teaching skiing at our Cypress, Grouse and Whistler Mountains.  Anne combined her passion for the adaptive sport and her love of ski teaching and began her years of volunteering as an instructor for Disabled Skier Association of BC at Grouse Mountain – the roots of what we now know as Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports.

Her career shifted to working in community-based practice as an Occupational Therapist with survivors of traumatic brain injuries and complex orthopaedic injuries for 12 years followed by work with North Shore Health – Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.

Anne’s leadership and influence within the adaptive skiing world ignited quickly and she has become known as a leader not only within our local community but with our national organization CADS (Canadian Association of Disabled Skiers) as a CADS Examiner and globally with her involvements with the International Paralympic Committee as an IPC Alpine Skiing Classifier.  She has been involved on many committees locally and globally in the adaptive sports world.

Anne was a proud torch bearer during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games nominated as a leader in our local community within the adaptive sport world. Anne has received many awards most recently  ‘2015 British Columbia Community Achievement Award’.

ann

In addition to Anne’s volunteer work, Anne has a successful home-based global business in the health and wellness industry with Isagenix International and has impacted the lives of thousands of people with her expertise/passion for people and health.  She has solutions for Weight Loss, Energy, Performance, Healthy Ageing and Wealth Creation.

In addition to her volunteer and work activities, Anne has the proud mother of three thriving teen boys and has nurtured their passions for music, sport and outdoor recreation.  Her youngest has been a singer in the BC Boys Touring Choir and passionate about outdoors/ leadership as youth camp leader, her middle son is focused on an elite level hockey path and her oldest son is a gifted singer/songwriter/guitar player.

The name Bethune may sound familiar – indeed, Anne’s  descendant was Dr. Norman Bethune, the famous Canadian physician and international humanitarian – proving that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Anne is here to talk with us today about her work with adaptive sport and healthy living and how her passions truly do impact lives for the better
