Harvard Educated Professor and Coach Unleashes a Powerful Exploration of Black Women’s Terror In Love And Revolutions In Life

Terror and love don’t typically go together in the same sentence but for more and more women the pairing has become a harsh reality. This is especially true in a post 9/11 world colliding with the Trump Era. In our day and age acts of emotional, psychological, and physical violence play out publicly (in the mainstream media), and privately (in intimate partnerships). In light of this, Jeanine Staples asks: How does terror in love impact the way women show up in relationships and how women operate in the world? Can we feel safe, healed, and whole in an age where relational and social terrors against Black women’s bodies and souls are common culture?

In Jeanine Staples’ debut book, The Revelations of Asher: Toward Supreme Love in Self, these questions are explored. Her extensive research reveals women’s fragmented selves and the five ways women live as lovers: Main Chick, Side Chick, Bonnie, Bitch, and Victim. Her two-part, online quiz can easily help women uncover which lover identity they take on in relationships. Her subsequent work ( The supreme love project ) shows women a more conscious way of loving and living in the world.

This isn’t a lovey-dovey take on relationships or “self-help”. It is a raw look at how women heal from deep traumas using the tools of emotional literacy and emotional justice. Jeanine is on a mission to teach women how to turn toward supreme love in self, a concept that goes beyond the limits of self-love.

As an alternative-response to the five toxic lover identities, Jeanine presents a new way of loving and living. She introduces the Supreme Lover Identity and illuminates its integral connection to social and emotional justice for and through Black women’s wisdom.

Although Jeanine champions women of color, her work is far-reaching. She currently has thousands of women, from 11 different countries, in her online community (www.thesupremeloveproject.com). Each member is embracing supreme love in self…learning to love supremely so she can live supremely. The Supreme Love Project was born out of this international response from women all over the world craving the tools to take ownership of their lover identities, and consciously seeking greater emotional justice for their lives and communities. Jeanine’s book presents rich examples of this real-life process. The Revelations of Asher is narrated by one of the fragmented selves: Asher. Asher is the questioning protagonist. She inquires and asks the tough questions women feel plagued with – Who am I? How did I get here? Why is this happening? What’s going to happen? What’s wrong with me? Other fragmented selves in the book include: Rajah (the voice of divine wisdom and peace), Maven (the voice of maternal critique), Nason (the voice of approval-addiction), Kagan (the voice of sex, sexuality, and materiality), Laish (the voice of self-doubt and timidity), and Sash (the voice of rage).

Founder of the Supreme Love Project”
js-com_photo3 Jeanine Staples is Associate Professor of Literacy and Language, African American Studies, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the Pennsylvania State University. She focuses on dismantling supremacist patriarchies through research, teaching, and coaching. As a sociocultural literacist, Dr. Staples works to understand personal and public voices and stories to solve personal and public problems. She does this by researching the evolutionary nature and function of literacies and texts through the discourses of narrative research. Her work exposes the roots and effects of racism, sexism, and ableism.

Dr. Staples earned her bachelor’s degree in English literature and Urban Education from Howard University, a Master’s degree in Teaching and Curriculum from Harvard University, and her Doctorate in Literacy and Language, with distinction, from the University of Pennsylvania. Her research has been peer-reviewed and published internationally. In addition, her teaching has been nationally acclaimed. She is a sought-after scholar, educator, and coach and has received numerous awards and honors for her talents and professional contributions to the field of literacy studies. She is a survivor of multiple terrors in love.

We share the stories or those who have Autism but do we hear from the parents of Autistic children and the struggle they go through, not really, so today we are speaking to two mothers of Autistic children who because of their loving sacrifice and dedication have two very functioning children today.

Janet Walmsley.

When Jenny was first diagnosed with Autism it has been Janet’s mission to support Jenny 110% and raise Autism awareness and bring out the positive of Autism and not the usual stigma with it. Janet has and does work tirelessly in every avenue to provide all the support and opportunities for her daughter and be her constant rock, her voice, and sounding board. Even going out of Canada to research Autism, find more support and further her knowledge about caring for her daughter. Even though diagnosed with Breast Cancer in July of 2014, Janet published her own book, The Autistic Author, and Animator, A Mother’s View of a Daughter’s Triumph, as Janet and Jenny wanted to publish their books at the same time and do book events and talks together. It is also a best seller and Jenny’s story is reaching out and touching the hearts of many people. Her story is not only to reach out to the Autistic community but to everyone.

Lilias Ahmeira.

When Lilias’ son was born with autism, traditional doctors told her that her son had little to no chance of having a normal life. Lilias, a precipitous learner, faced with a huge challenge, studied every book, course or seminar she could on healing the body naturally and studied with some of the best minds in the world. Not only was she able to treat her son who is now 17 years old and is studying away at college; but she has gained much notoriety in her field. Lilias has treated people from royalty to rock stars and a multitude of backgrounds and careers. Huge numbers of people have gone on to live vibrant and active lives because of her work and she shows no evidence of slowing down.

She is known for her work with autoimmune disorders, Autism, Lyme disease and Irritable Bowl Syndrome (IBS) and getting results.

537803_350806931693410_284230431_n In my teachings of soul awareness, I find that it is when you teach the woman to embrace womanhood we end up teaching the world what gifts a woman is. I do not want to be a man to own my equality, I do not want to think like a man to be heard. I am a woman with a broad spectrum of understanding that needs that balance of woman and man.
When we stop apologizing for thinking, feeling, and living like a woman we may give men a chance to know us in our own strength, in our own empowerment and know what positive energies we bring to the whole. Women you want to teach your sons how to respect and value women start by respecting and valuing yourself. Women you want to be seen in all your feminine light, step into to the glorious light of womanhood.

A man will treat you in the value you give yourself, in the truth of your soul in the purpose of your spirit. So stand tall woman of the world, and be the wonderful feminine being you are and live in that embracement of inner love for all to see.
