‘for the LOVE of Music” with Sara Troy and her guest Michael Tate, on air from April 25th 

LATIN-TROPICAL-SOUL. Michael Tate, drummer and bandleader of the group 3D Rhythm of Life, continues his journey by merging the sounds of Latin, Rhythm and Blues, Reggae and the flavours of the Caribbean creating what he calls  “Latin-Tropical-Soul”.

Michael grew up in his native New York listening to the music of Tito Puente, Luther Vandross, The Meters, José Feliciano, Eddie Palmieri, Juan Luis Guerra and many others. His interest in drumming began at the early age of 6 when traveling to the islands of St. Thomas and Barbados. At 12 he began to study music and has been influenced strongly by significant mentors such as Yogi Horton and Bonny Bonaparte.

Playing with Kid Creole and the Coconuts exposed him to the rich sounds of West Indian, Afro Cuban and World Music, these are a part of his musical foundation.

Chris Amelar, co-founder of the band, began his studies of music on piano and trombone, eventually discovering the guitar at age 13. Amelar graduated from William Paterson University, studying with jazz great Rufus Reid. His early guitar influences were George Benson, Al DiMeola, Carlos Santana and recently the sounds of the Cuban Trés.

Lenny Underwood on Keyboards (formerly with Mariah Carey, Chaka Khan, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston) is a Bronx native. He has been a core member of the group recording and performing with 3D for over 14 years. He brings his rich musical flavour to the music.

3D Rhythm of Life’s latest release FANTASY is their new video – single and the title of their full album.  For this production, Michael Tate invited 2 outstanding vocalists to join him. Chris Alfinez (formerly with Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez) and vocalist-drummer, Bonny Bonnaparte (formerly with Spyro Gyra). Also featured on this exciting new recording is Grammy award winner Ricky Gonzalez.

 Imagine a meeting that inspires honest conversation and transformative change on both personal and organizational levels. A meeting where everyone’s input is genuinely valued and appreciated—one that leads to deeper, more meaningful conversations among colleagues and across organizational levels.

David says “When I was attending the University of Waterloo, near my hometown of Toronto, I never imagined that my role as a residence “don” would turn out to be more relevant to my career than my major, Earth Sciences. As it turns out, listening is at the core of my work; it’s my passion.

Shortly after university, I began working as a performance consultant at the Canadian headquarters of Wilson Learning Corporation, a Minneapolis based training and development organization. And then on to Apple Canada where I held a variety of roles in sales, marketing and human resources. After five years with Apple, I was starting to ponder becoming an entrepreneur; despite the advice from friends that staying at Apple would have been more “safe” considering how successful the company was becoming. Since I am not one to necessarily take the safe route, I started out on my own! After several months, I joined business with five friends/colleagues in Toronto, forming The Cadence Group. We were a consultancy that built and delivered leadership development courses, primarily for financial services and technology organizations.

I began noticing a pattern in my training workshops. Clients would say, “This is great for us, but we’re not the problem—it’s leadership.” So I changed the focus of my practice and began working almost exclusively with senior leaders and boards, people who have both the desire and the power to influence organizational change.

Eventually, my curiosity pointed me towards the west side of the country and in 1995, I moved to West Vancouver and fell in love with the mountains, the ocean and the person who became my wife (not necessarily in that order). I continued operations as The Consulting Edge: Movers & Shakers, Inc. and furthered my passion for listening and helping businesses and organizations become more effective leaders – invoking curiosity and courage as core attributes.

I’m passionate about social issues and community service. Over time I have served as a volunteer member on the boards of Vancouver Theatre Sports League, North Shore Restorative Justice Society and West Vancouver’s Kay Meek Centre. Additional volunteer time is invested in parent groups supporting child & youth mental health on the North Shore, Leadership Vancouver Island and for several years, as a Board member/past National President of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers.

In my personal time, I enjoy hanging out with our teenage daughter and spending time outdoors with our two dogs, Holly and Maggie. I have recently begun to learn to play the ukulele, which I promise never to incorporate into my professional repertoire!”

I found exactly what I was looking for when I discovered my new career in Network Marketing. My new love has given me the opportunity to reach out to people globally and help them. Today, I am a happier man because of the love and blessings of my many new friends –I am blessed to have an extended family that consists of people from all over the world.

Sindy’s first crush was a little boy she met on the playground when she was 5 years old. As a little girl through to her twenties, Sindy believed with all her heart that she would one day meet her Prince Charming and live happily ever after. Her first boyfriend at 15 was an innocent puppy love, followed by a sweet but tragic intimate relationship at age 19 when she discovered he had been unfaithful to her. Sindy was so heartbroken and devastated that she dropped out of university for a time, but eventually returned to complete her degree in Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) specializing in Accounting, Human Resources, Kinesiology and Psychology.

After graduating from university, Sindy was determined to heal her broken heart by focusing on her career and passions in health and fitness, travel, science and Vedic astrology. She learned and taught Pole Dancing, trained and competed in Ironwoman at age 21 while living in Los Angeles, California. Indulging more in her love of numbers, logic and scientific analysis, Sindy moved to New York City to work as a Forensic Accountant for 10 years. Specialized in handling the financial aftermath of divorce, she got up close and personal with her clients suffering from the tragedy of a marriage breakdown. Sindy was determined to find a scientific solution for men and women struggling in an intimate relationship. During this time, she was coached and mentored by North America’s #1 Relationship Experts, as well as trained and mentored by Ernst Wilhelm on using the tools and insights Vedic Astrology for self-discovery and better relationships.
