Your Health is Your Choice with Sara Troy and her guest Christian Gonzalez, on air February 10th
Christian has spent the past 20 years living on Vancouver Island after moving to Canada from Chihuahua, Mexico. Fluent in both English and Spanish, his life journey has been shaped by cultural transition, personal challenges, and a deep commitment to growth. Like many people, Christian struggled with building healthy habits and truly understanding how to care for himself. While school covered the basics, it didn’t teach him how to develop a healthy relationship with food, body awareness, or long-term wellbeing. After high school, he made the courageous choice to pause, reflect, and turn inward.
Through two years of dedication and perseverance, Christian lost over 75 pounds—and in the process rediscovered his strength, confidence, and sense of purpose. That personal transformation ignited a passion for fitness that became both his career and calling. Today, Christian helps others improve their physical health while also guiding them toward deeper emotional and mental self-understanding. His work is rooted in compassion, self-awareness, and empowerment, reminding people that lasting change begins from within.

Building your business with Sara Troy and her guest Tina Marie Baxter, on air from February 10th
My journey as an entrepreneur began with a side hustle. I started as a broke nursing student who needed extra cash so I taught CPR classes. I did not know anything about corporate contracts, cash flow, or marketing. It wasn’t until years later that I understood what being an entrepreneur meant and how nurses make excellent entrepreneurs.
As nurse business owners, many of us are used to following the rules, checking the boxes, and doing everything “by the book.” But in business, leadership looks different. It’s about courage — taking risks, making hard decisions, and standing firm in your vision.
Mrs. Baxter is an advanced practice registered nurse and a board certified gerontological nurse practitioner through the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC), who resides in Anderson, Indiana. Mrs. Baxter has been a registered nurse for over twenty years and a nurse practitioner for 18 years. She is the owner of Baxter Professional Services, LLC, a consulting firm which provides legal nurse consulting services for attorneys and insurance professionals; wellness and chronic disease management coaching; and customized educational and operational resources to healthcare organizations. She is the founder of The Nurse Shark Academy where she coaches nurses to launch and scale their businesses and host of The Nurse Shark Academy Show. She is a public speaker and has spoken on numerous topics on a national level. She is a contributor to articles on electronic and print media such as Entrepreneur.com, The Minority Nurse, Authority Magazine, Medium, LinkedIn, as well as a guest on numerous podcasts.

Let’s be honest — comfort zones don’t create impact.
If you want to grow sustainably, you must lead courageously. Here are 3 ways to start:
1. Raise Your Standards (and Your Prices) Your experience and expertise deserve compensation that reflects your value. Review your rates and increase them by 10–20% for new clients — confidently, not apologetically.
2. Set Boundaries That Protect Your Energy Your time is your most valuable asset. Identify one boundary you’ve neglected — like limiting after-hours client messages — and start enforcing it this week.
3. Make One Bold Move Toward Expansion Growth requires boldness. Whether it’s hiring support, launching a new program, or stepping into visibility, do it even if you’re scared. Courage comes before confidence.
You didn’t start this business playing it small. You started to make an impact.

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air since February 9th
As a senior, I deeply understand the value of what we still have to offer and the wisdom we carry within us. Our lives have been shaped by experience—not theory, not trends, but lived reality. We have walked bumpy roads, faced detours we never planned for, and more than once, we’ve had to repave the path ourselves so those who followed might have an easier journey. Every challenge refined us, every mistake taught us, and every triumph reminded us of our resilience.
We have loved fully, laughed deeply, and celebrated life with open hearts. We have also known grief, loss, and heartbreak, some of it so profound that words could never fully hold it. Yet we are still here. Not hardened, but seasoned. Not finished, but evolved. We carry perspective, patience, and an understanding of what truly matters. And with that comes a quiet readiness, to share, to guide, to remind others that life is not meant to be rushed or wasted. Our wisdom is not about telling others what to do; it’s about offering insight to those willing to listen, see, and learn, so they may walk their own path with a little more clarity, courage, and compassion.
A Message for the Young — A Gentle Warning
The stories of seniors are not just about the past—they are lessons for the future. How we age reflects what we prepared for earlier in life. Our triumphs show the strength of resilience and community; our challenges reveal the cost of neglecting aging and long-term care. Aging is not optional—preparation matters.
To the younger generations: pay attention. Invest now in your health, relationships, and sense of purpose. Learn from those who came before you, because how you live today shapes the life you will one day grow into.
First Steps: Book a chat with Sara Troy.
I invite you to join me on this meaningful journey of sharing your lived wisdom with a global audience through your chapter in Our Forgotten Seniors. How We Gently Build Support for the Book
We approach support through connection and shared purpose. Support and sponsorship help cover the costs of publishing the paperback, eBook, and audiobook. When support arises, it is acknowledged with appreciation and respect. Our focus remains on trust, relationships, and creating something meaningful together—allowing support to grow organically.
We invite elders who are eager to share their wisdom, experience, and life lessons to join us in authoring this collaborative book. A commitment fee of $150 USD (with a payment plan available) supports the podcasting and development of the book project. Publishing costs will be addressed later through fundraising. This book is created to serve not only fellow seniors, but also to inspire and guide the generations that follow.
This is a seniors’ community book, we come together to illuminate the path for others to walk on. Come join me on this journey.

An Authors Kiss with Sara Troy and her guest Chester L. Richards, on air from November 18th
From Star Trek® to Crocodiles: Chester L. Richards talks new memoir, The Trek Continues
Award-winning author and rocket scientist returns with true tales of hair-raising adventure and resilience.
Retired rocket scientist and author Chester L. Richards. Author, inventor, and co-writer of the iconic Star Trek episode “The Tholian Web,” Chester L. Richards continues his acclaimed Treks Beyond the Great Potato memoir series with The Trek Continues: More Memoirs of a Rocket Scientist
In this second volume, Richards expands on the journey he began in From the Potato to Star Trek and Beyond, blending pulse-pounding adventure with poignant reflections on life, love, and loss. From near-death experiences with crocodiles in Africa to a white-knuckle flight back home in California, The Trek Continues dives deep into the real-life escapades of a man who helped imagine the universe onscreen—and then went out and lived it.
Richards shares what it meant to survive, to grieve, and to grow. Central to the memoir is his late wife Sarah, a brilliant and spirited presence readers first glimpsed in Book 1. Responding to fan letters asking to learn more about her, Richards infuses this new collection with her voice, her stories, and the extraordinary impact she had on his life. There are also stories of eccentric animals (including cats, a dog named Hector, and a horse—almost), scientific breakthroughs in aerospace and on earth, close calls with Neolithic tribes, and the unexpected wisdom of failure.
“Every story is a letter of love to Sarah,” Richards writes. “Each stands on its own. Each is an adventure. And each is true.”
Known for his witty, self-deprecating style and cinematic detail, Richards proves again that memoir can be both thrilling and intimate. A scientist by training and adventurer by instinct, he invites readers to see life not as a linear path—but as a series of treks, each one worth telling.
“Adventure starts when your gut clenches and you do it anyway,” says Richards. “That’s when you find out who you really are.”
Chester L. Richards is a retired aerospace engineer and inventor with nineteen patents, and a new one pending. While still in college, he co-wrote “The Tholian Web,” one of the most beloved episodes of the original Star Trek. He went on to lead a life of exploration and innovation—surfing Southern California, navigating deadly rapids in different locales, including Ethiopia in the midst of a civil war, and designing technologies for space exploration. He is the author of From the Potato to Star Trek and Beyond and The Trek Continues, and has had more than fifty essays published, so far. He lives in Thousand Oaks, California, where he writes, plays music, and reflects on a life well lived and still boldly going.

Building your business with Sara Troy and her guest Dianne Crampton, on air from October 7th
On this episode, we welcome Dianne Crampton, founder of the TIGERS 6 Principles and president of TIGERS Success Series. Dianne is the author of Becoming TIGERS: Leading Your Team to Success. In this unique leadership parable—crafted in the tradition of Native American storytelling—Dianne weaves a story within a story. At its heart is a father whose job is on the line because his well-intentioned passion comes out as shouting and micromanagement. His struggle mirrors a parable about two tiger brothers—one who inspires and coaches his diverse tribe, and another who rules with surliness and control. Dianne explores how stories gently shift mindsets and open leaders to real change, offering a fresh path away from toxic behaviors and toward collaborative, high-trust leadership. She also shares her vision for pairing Becoming TIGERS with the TIGERS Team Wheel game to support school counselors and help address root causes of conflict and even gun violence in schools. Tune in for an unforgettable conversation about the power of story to change how we lead, work, and live together.
After completing graduate-level research that validated the six principles of high-functioning teams, Dianne Crampton launched TIGERS to help progressive leaders master group process through soft skills that drive innovation and minimize destructive conflict. Her early work focused on guiding companies through post-merger integration, cross-functional team development, and organizational change. Today, she certifies HR leaders, consultants, and coaches in the use of TIGERS resources so they can deliver measurable culture improvements inside their own organizations. Clients often describe her work as “a business in a box,” giving managers and facilitators proven systems to stay relevant and effective in an era when AI is reshaping the workplace.
