Everybody has a story,
Ranging from sublime to gory!
Like the game, you pull a straw—
And luck depends on what you draw.
Sometimes it is most unfair—
Depending on geographically where
You were born! Your entire life
Could be very good, or full of strife!
That is why so many choose
Migration—when they’ve not much to lose!
Some countries are short of food and water…
Some cultures favor son, not daughter!
Punishment can be quite severe
For any girls who don’t adhere
To rules—laid down by fathers, mothers—
Sometimes meted out by brothers!
Our life depends on the stars alignment
For our birthplace, and our life assignment.
Those of us who’re geographically blessed
Can thank our stars for where we nest!
