Our Global Veterans with Sara Troy and her guest Dan Blakeley, on air from November 23rd
THE TWENTY-YEAR WAR Dan Blakeley, served in 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, deploying six times in support of the Global War on Terror. This Breathtaking, Personal and Raw. The Twenty-Year War photo book is an eye-opening insight into the lives of 71 incredible veterans of the Global War on Terror.
Diving into the experience of American service members fighting in a conflict that has spanned two decades, The Twenty-Year War explores the challenge veterans face reintegrating into a society where less than 1 percent of the American populace has served in the conflict.
The veterans featured in The Twenty-Year War open up about their call to service, the sobering reality of combat, their transition post-military, and what it’s like to find their mission again — in life.
This book shares stories not often told, including stories of fathers and sons, sisters, brothers, and husbands and wives who served together. The Twenty-Year War is a triumph of the American veteran’s spirit and determination.
Dan Blakeley served in 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, deploying six times in support of the Global War on Terror. He graduated from Appalachian State University with his bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees. He started the school’s solar-powered racing team that designed and built two solar-powered race cars, competing in five international races. Dan’s transition from military to civilian was not easy. Over the years he has seen firsthand a trend in the veteran community which paralleled his own experiences. “It’s a lack of understanding the skills veterans bring to the table, our proven leadership, our commitment to teammates, our unwavering desire to increase potential and be our best,” Dan said recently. Dan’s passion for veteran success and telling their stories was the inspiration for his first book, The Twenty-Year War. Dan is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of United Valor, a company focused on telling the untold stories of war through all media formats.

Parts of the province have seen up to 230 millimetres of rain in just 24 hours, we come together in disarsters, and lord knows so many need us now, but let it not just be when bad stuff happens but be there for each other all the time. With so many who have lost their lives, so many animals lost to the flooding, so many farms obitorated, so many road gove completly, BC Canada is in dia need of help and support.
A section of Highway 5 was washed away by the surging Coquihalla River near Hope, B.C., on Monday. Floods and mudslides continue to have a severe impact on highways throughout southern B.C. This road alone will take months to rebuild.
Wild life run to seek shelter from the flooding rain. So many caught in the floding and unable to get out.
Still reeling from fire season, Merritt, B.C., evacuees now taking stock of ‘devastating’ floods Entire city of 7,000 ordered to evacuate Monday after wastewater system failed. Now the loss and clean up with more rains to come.
A mudslide closed Highway 1 between Popkum and Hope, B.C., east of Chilliwack. Rains throughout the province have led to treacherous conditions, closing the Coquihalla and other key highways.
Storm sends barge straight into Vancouver’s seawall.
What’s in the floodwater? Toxicity of water detailed in recent Abbotsford study
Human and animal fecal matter, oil and gas, asbestos likely leave water highly contaminated, so many live stock have died, and farms are under water.
THEY HAVE RESCUED A FEW CATTLE, BUT SO MANY LOST TO THE FLOODING.
The devestaion is unberlievable and will take moonths and even years to rebuild. My own daughter lost a good frined in the slide and his body no where to be found.
Building your business with Sara Troy and her guest Susan Young, on air from November 23rd
One thing that drives me bonkers is watching people trying to explain their business with the wrong words and delivery. Aside from feeling embarrassed, they are leaving money on the table. Every. Single. Time. Let’s clear this all up for you and get you ON TRACK for speaking with confidence, clarity, and charisma. Then you can grow the business you want — and deserve! You’ve got this! Here’s a hint: It’s not about your credentials. It’s not about your money mindset. And it’s not about your website, branding, or snappy business name. Attracting dream clients to your business is a helluva lot easier when you have the 3 V’s that open the door. Only then can you start sharing your expertise, gifts, and talent. Look, I’ve had the honor of coaching newbie entrepreneurs trying to get their first few clients to experienced speakers who coach NFL + NBA athletes and CEOs. I’ll tell you one thing that’s absolutely true. Not a drop of doubt— ALL of them have the same 3 KEY V’s at their core. Not one of the KEY V’s is ever missing. So… what are the 3 KEY V’s, you wonder? 1) Messaging that clearly shows deep VALUE to dream clients because it’s always about keeping their results in mind-not yours (It doesn’t matter if it’s widgets or wealth investments—this is ALWAYS true!) Which brings me to… 2) A story and offer that reveals the VISION of your dream clients’ desire. Heartfelt storytellers show prospects that they understand them at a deep core level. They know their wants and desires beyond a goofy avatar. It could be they want more time with family, a boat, a degree, a new partner—or a holiday bursting with gifts for the kiddos. It doesn’t matter…Which brings me to the need for… 3) An irresistible, mesmerizing, and charismatic VOICE for people who are ready to buy. You’ll infuse your natural personality in just the right way so you feel aligned, not awkward. And it works. Because it’s simply a conversation and not a pushy sales pitch. And, if you’re like some of my clients who don’t like to sell, remember this: You don’t have a viable business if money doesn’t trade hands.
The 3 KEYS may sound easy enough, right??? But if people aren’t responding to your message, it means one or more of the KEY V’s is either missing or needs tweaking. And you feel frustration, disappointment, and angst. So how do you fix this? How do you have the right KEYS to open the door (AKA sign the new client) so you can start sharing your expertise, gifts, and talent? How do you make the 3 KEY V’s work for YOU? Well… it’s WAY too long to explain in an email.

Ignite your heart and soul with Sara Troy and her guest Dr Ivan Figuero Otero, on air from November 23rd
Medical acupuncturist, Iván Figueroa Otero, MD. Dr. Figuero Otero will talk about his fourth book in the “School of Life” series, Reflections in My Magical Mirror (Spirituality 104), which encourages readers to remember that every difficult experience is a lesson of love. He will share with our listeners the importance of emotional and spiritual well-being and its role in preventive and therapeutic medicine. “The fourth book is an extraordinary guide that every person can use at any stage of their spiritual journey.”— Los Angeles Post Examiner As a physician and retired pediatric surgeon, how did he relate to spirituality? Why is it important to attend to spirituality in medicine? What is the “magical mirror” & does everyone have one? How can we harness it? The book is filled with relatable life lessons to learn from written from Ivan’s experiences. How he heals his patient’s practice today in Puerto Rico. Suggestions people do every day? Ivan’s other books in this series and how can readers work with them?
Iván Figueroa Otero M.D. FACS, FAAMA After graduating from the School of Medicine of the University of PR in 1970, Dr. Figueroa Otero trained as General Surgeon at the University Hospital of the UPR School of Medicine, integrating a one-year fellowship in the study of cancer, and one year in experimental research. He did his postgraduate studies in Pediatric Surgery at Miami Children’s Hospital and the San Juan Municipal Hospital. Looking for non-surgical or less invasive options for pediatric conditions, Dr. Figueroa Otero explored Eastern philosophies that emphasize a holistic concept of disease. He was one of the first physicians to become certified in medical acupuncture in Puerto Rico, training in traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture with professors from the University of Seville. Eventually, he was certified in medical acupuncture nationally.
In 2009, Dr. Figueroa Otero became certified in anti-aging medicine, and in December of that year, he retired from the practice of pediatric surgery, focusing instead on his holistic medical practice and emphasizing disease prevention and modification of lifestyles. In 2011, he was invited to become a Trustee of the American Board of Medical Acupuncture, which is the national body organization responsible for certifying physicians in the field of acupuncture through national exams. In that same year, he was recognized by Natural Awakenings magazine as Holistic Physician of the Year. Dr. Figueroa Otero is currently engaged in his private practice and continues in his role as an educator, trying to achieve full integration of traditional Chinese acupuncture courses in the curriculum of medical schools, promoting that physicians to be certified both locally and nationally and to establish clinical research protocols on the use of acupuncture in known conditions compared to the methodology established by modern medicine. Another immediate priority is to incorporate meditation techniques and their role in preventive and therapeutic medicine.
