Angela is a physical therapist and Pilates Teacher in Massachusetts (USA)who helps women over 30 find strength and confidence in their bodies so they can keep doing what they love without unnecessary pills or medical procedures. One of the things she loves most about physical therapy is the sharing of stories and experiences which create connection, deeper understanding, and the best opportunities for learning. Angela has created a local Women’s Health, Fitness, and Wellness Providers Networking group to facilitate the best and most comprehensive care for clients and the sharing of knowledge and growth among practitioners; and with long term plans for community outreach and education. She is feels blessed to live near her extended family and the ocean – two things that mean a lot to her. When not working, Angela is likely to be at the beach with friends and family, biking or reading with the boys, or playing softball.

Women’s Health and Wellness is a topic that is near and dear to my heart. While I am a pelvic floor therapist and treat conditions that arise in pregnant and postpartum women, peri-menopausal and menopausal women and even children one thing is clear, you cannot isolate the physical issue from everything else that is going on in the life of the individual. Often times women are coming for one issue, maybe pain, urinary leakage, sexual dysfunction and so on, but when we consider their nutrition, lifestyle, sleep hygiene, bowel and bladder hygiene, stress levels and so much more it paints an even greater picture of what is involved and more often than not contains many of the solutions necessary for the path to healing.

I am a licensed physical therapist in both New York and Georgia and have been practicing for 12 years. I started out primarily as an orthopedic therapist but saw a variety of conditions including women’s health issues. I fell in love with this niche and over the years it has continued to grow. I am a wife, I am a mother to two beautiful kids, ages 6 and 3 (soon to be 4)… and don’t forget my first kiddo, the dog Miko. I am a lover of movement and sport and life!

19-24 Less is More….more or less

We are always seeking to have more, do more, be more, but perhaps Less IS MORE. What is enough and how do we slow down and stop to take things in before rushing forward looking to do and be more.

Pacing yourself, taking time to reflect, being the observer and stop chasing something that we really don’t need or should not have, given us time to see things for what they really are and not what we think they are.

WE HAVE BEEN TOLD WE MUST CHASE OUR DREAMS, MAKE THEM HAPPEN NO PAIN NO GAIN AND GIVE IT ALL YOU HAVE…YES IN MODERATION. iF YOU DON’T STOP TO REFLECT HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU ON THE RIGHT PATH?

One must stop and access the situation to see if your indeed going in the right direction. Failure comes from rushing, pushing and ignoring the signs of reflection. We do not succeed if we are always chasing, for that way we never know when we have actually received what t we need.

So slow down, try doing LESS and may find that you gain MORE form the experience in the end than you did going full throttle.
