P15/04b The Conversation a Journey into Consciousness

Airing January 27th on Positive Living Vibrations with Sara Troy and her guest Jeff Cannon

Join “The Conversation”

A Journey of Transcendence You Will be Surprised Where It Leads

Jeff-Cannon-Modern-Meditation-480-214x300The Conversation is less a book than it is an experience.  Based on the five lucid dreams of the author and Modern American Monk, Jeff Cannon, The Conversation travels the energy of existence from the physical to the metaphysical and beyond as it takes its reader on a journey that balances God and Evolution, Spirituality and Science, the Human and the Divine.

This is a simple story of awakening through the transference Jeff experienced with his dream-guide on the Greek island of Ithaka and through the simplicity of Love.

The Conversation is the basis for much of Jeff’s teachings.  It weaves Western science and Eastern philosophy into a wonderful tapestry and meditation on Life, Death, Love and Transcendence.

Slide2-200x300Jeff Cannon is the author of numerous books on meditation, spirituality and wellness. He is a member of NYU Hospital’s Patient Advisory Board and a contributor to Huffington Post, Mind Body Green and countless other websites and blogs.  He wrote The Simple Truth: Meditation for the Modern World in 2009 after which he founded The Simple Truth Project where he teaches Modern Meditation privately as well as through public workshops.

Jeff has survived 8 brain surgeries that removed more than 22 tumors in as many years.  He has witnessed the evolution of neuroscience through each surgery first hand.  His first operation used a hand-drill in 1992.  His most devastating operation removed six brain tumors in 2009.  His latest surgery lasted 14 hours, after which he could not see, speak or stand.

Through each, Jeff has spent months watching his own brain heal and reboot itself.  He has spent years exploring how meditation can help to overcome the issues he has faced, and continues to amaze doctors and researchers with his ability to heal, to recover and to let go so that he can move beyond and live his life.

He now teaches others how to transform their lives through Modern Meditation – the union of traditional Eastern Meditation Practices and Western Science.  It is a practice that refines traditional meditation techniques to better respond to the realities of the world we all live in, and to create transformational change in their lives.

images (15)

It is a NEW YEAR and is a very good time to invest in yourself. First, we have, to be honest with ourselves and the lives we are currently living, are we serving ourselves or crippling our lives? Pat in her honesty shares with us her path of alcoholic destruction and how she finally placed value upon her own life to become a beacon of hope, care and nurturing for others in recovery. We to can overcome when we decide, to be honest about our choices.

Patricia A. Reihl, MPA, LCADC

Pat at PodiumCounsellor and Author

Patricia Reihl has worked in the addiction field since 1977. After securing a nursing license, she began a career as a counsellor in a social setting detox, and next worked as a nurse in a 28-day residential program. In 1980 she went to work in a hospital-based outpatient program where she developed and directed a special outpatient track for female clients.

In 1981 Pat became Director of Spring House, a female halfway house in Paramus, New Jersey. During her tenure, the program was taken from the brink of closing to the largest female halfway house in the State. Spring House serves today as a national and international model. Ms. Reihl has returned many women to the community as sober, productive members of society and has become a role model for the women she serves.

Throughout the years she returned to college to complete both a Bachelor and Master Degree. This schooling qualified Pat to serve on numerous national committees and boards. In addition, she represented halfway houses on a sub-committee of the American Society of Addictive Medicine and become a member of the faculty at the Rutger’s Summer School of Alcohol and Drug Studies. She has instructed professionals across the Country and Europe.

14/50 Ask Sara about A Parents Message to Kids for this Festive Season

Ask Sara with Sara Troy Aired December 16th on

Family-christmas-celebration-wallpaper4-650x406

I started out like every human does — a child, small and unknowing, unaware of all that life would ask of me. My environment and the intentions of my family shaped me. Many dreams were placed upon me, yet not much was truly expected of me. I learned to wish for a life I didn’t believe I could reach, to want things I was told I’d never become.

My desires didn’t match my confidence, and my self-worth sat too low to reach for the stars. This isn’t a “woe is me” story — it’s a familiar one, lived by far too many. The dysfunctional raise the next generation in a world that is, itself, dysfunctional.

Television shows us the ideal family — the picture-perfect standard we’re told to uphold.

But in whose world?
By whose evaluation?
And why do we believe that perfection is the norm?

We cling to the idea that there is one correct foundation for family and life — but who defined that standard? What does normal even mean, and who gets to apply that label?

If a child is loved, fed, housed, and nurtured — if they are seen, valued, and given time — is that not the true definition of family wholeness?

We are all flawed. No one escapes that. But flaws do not make us bad. Life is a classroom, and learning is the curriculum — not living up to someone’s unrealistic expectations, but living by the guidance of one’s own conscience.

Each generation hopes the next will learn better, grow wiser, and rise beyond the mistakes of the past. We forget that everyone is a student in the classroom of life — learning in different ways, through different experiences.

It’s easy to judge our parents for what they didn’t do right.
Harder to thank them for doing the best they could with what they knew.

So, children — be patient with us, as we have been with you. We know how hard growing up is… we’ve done it too. We know how exhausting constant change can be — because life keeps rewriting the rules.

That’s why I say:
Live by your conscience.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Choose optimism even when the odds seem stacked against you.

And always remember:
If you believe it — the sun will rise again tomorrow.

P14/50a Keeping Our Memories Alive and Inviting Business

Positive Living Vibrations with Sara Troy and her guest Anastasia Modestova ORIGINALLY Aired December 16th

ana

Anastasia Modestova is a videographer. She Immigrated to Canada in 2008 when she fell in love, she got her MBA  degree at HEC Montreal. Anastasia worked as a marketing director in Vancouver BC. B ut as good as the job was and as good as she was at it, her heart and soul was else where. In 2013 founded a video production company Movie About You where capturing memories for generations to come and helping business promote their work has become her true calling.

She says to think about your most important values. Hers are Freedom, Creativity and Beauty. That is why she became a videographer. And she loves every moment of my life because she can create beauty in visual format and touch peoples hearts. Believe me, it is a very powerful feeling.

 For Business

934950_602111989806806_359602449_nIdeal for small business owners. Why? Because you need to spread the word out about your products or services and you are determined to do so in the most effective way. And because your budget is restricted.

Well, If you are looking to create a video for your business webpage, your professional blog, your YouTube channel, your Facebook page, your LinkedIn profile, your Google+ account or for other social media and if  you are located in Vancouver, Canada, a video is the greatest tool to achive your business goals. Most of our clients are small business owners and we understand exactly what you are looking for.

The reason You Tube and videography are booming industries is because people in general yearn for real life experiences. Photos are simply not enough. Everyone wants to feel and see the person in action, hear the sounds of their voices and view their real life facial expressions.

 For Family

imafamEach family including yours has its own unique story, a story that is worth transferring to future generations.

Most of us a lot know a lot about our parents, less about our grandparents and almost nothing about our great grandparents. That’s sad.

As an example, wouldn’t it be an amazing experience to go back in time whenever we wanted and watch those in our family lineage from say the 19th century -speaking, smiling, sharing their happy and sad moments. How powerful it would be to keep the memories and feelings alive…That is precisely why we have created The Family Video Legacy…

A Family Video Legacy preserves your family spiritual DNA, inspires your children, your grandchildren.
