RG22-11 Gramps Jeffrey, I Don’t Want to Turn 3.

Raising our gifted children with Sara Troy and her guest Marc Joseph aka Gramps Jeffery, on air from March 15TH

Why Did I Write This Book?

Living this past year because of the pandemic caused by Covid19 in isolation except for being with family, gave me special time to watch and interact with the grandkids. What a trip!

All 6 kids have completely different personalities. The one thing they have in common is the sense of curiosity and how excited they get when they do accomplish something new. Watching them grow year to year and how they interact with each other is the basis for this book.

What goes through a toddler’s mind that parents are so desperate to understand? When does a toddler understand the difference between “me” and “us”? This book explores how a family finds out together.

As a baby boomer trying to understand how the world has evolved since I was 3 years old, is also part of this story. My parents did not have cell phones or the Internet or cable TV. My parents’ definition of discipline is quite different than parents of today. Has today’s world made for a better place for children to grow up? I will let you answer that question as you weigh how you were treated growing up compared to how we treat our kids today.

So, I wrote this book to read to these grandkids. Their reaction has been invaluable. As you watch them understand Jordan’s discovery of right versus wrong, you can see the older kids have gone through the same dilemma. And the younger kids don’t quite yet understand the concept of sharing. This whole experience, for me, has been priceless.

My first book, “The Secrets of Retailing…How to Beat Walmart” was written to help entrepreneurs and small businesses compete against the big guys. Here is a little more information about my book:

Marc Joseph Book

Arianna Huffington had read my book and then asked me to become a contributor to The Huffington Post. Here is a link to the close to 100 articles I have written for this publication:

Huffington Post Articles by Marc Joseph

The articles are about small businesses, education, family, the elderly, the homeless and several other nonprofit topics dear to all of us.

The reason I am sharing all of this with you is if you want to talk about other issues facing today’s parents and grandparents, I would be happy to give you my take on subjects affecting our kids.

Attached is a PDF of my children’s book and the reason I wrote this book.

RG22-10 Dewatti Basdeo, Crystal & Leo, “The Great Barrier Reef’

Raising our gifted children with Sara Troy and her guest Dewatti Basdeo, on air from March 8th

‘Magnificent Me Magnificent You The Great Barrier Reef’ children’s story and yoga activities book. This is the second book in the natural wonders of the World Series I am currently writing. In this book twins, Crystal and Leo and their clever dog Einstein embark on an adventure of discovery of the Great Barrier Reef, its beauty, and its teachings. Alongside the story are a range of wellbeing activities children can utilise to support both their physical and mental wellbeing. As well as the above, the book will be fundraising for different organizations working on the conservation of reefs and world oceans.

The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef system. Coral reefs are home to thousands of species and play a critical role in maintaining healthy oceans and subsequently a healthy planet.

We are each steward of our planet, home to our future generations, in this understanding, we endeavour to contribute towards maintaining a healthy planet the best we can.

RG22-08 Patrice Badami Educating Special Needs Children

Raising our gifted children with Sara Troy and her guest Patrice Badami, on air from February 22nd

What exactly does it mean to be an advocate for a child with special needs? Our goal, as caregivers, is always to raise children to be happy and successful. But how does a caregiver navigate the overwhelming and sometimes complicated world of laws, resources and programs in their community?

I am a special education teacher and mother of three. I have advocated for families with children who have special needs to ensure that they receive the special education services that they require for them to be appropriately facilitated at their home school district. I created a website to help students as they navigate their way back into the in-person educational settings. The website is entitled Acorntotree.com and it offers free academic and recreational support for children and families.
