WJ 17-49 Pursuing an EXTRAordinary Life In Mid-Life-

The Wellness Journey with Lynnis Woods-Mullins and her guest Clifton West, on air from December 5th.

Getting Our Groove Back and Finishing Strong

clintClifton West has led an extraordinary life disguised as an ordinary man.  Life has afforded him a wonderful childhood, an exciting world-class track career that put him on the path to the Olympics, a successful and thriving business and the opportunity to travel throughout the world.   One would think that all of this success would change a person, perhaps cause them to feel that they are somehow “better” than others.  For Clifton West that could not be further from the truth.

In his book “Of Life and Time” Clifton West chronicles his life and what was going on in the world during these times.  A child of the late fifties, a teenager of the 60’s and a young adult of the 70’s, Clifton’s book is rich with memories of those times and the lessons learned while growing up.  He shares with how he came to learn that a life rich in love and peace is much more precious than attaining worldly success.  Clifton’s book shares the soul-substance of an extraordinary life lived by an ordinary person. It attempts to provide a personal yet inclusive testimony of a spiritual journey that has brought him to discover his true life’s purpose.  Clifton describes how this living and breathing phenomenon called ‘life’ moving within this ever-advancing entity called ‘time’ provides for us all a profound introduction to our life’s purpose.

Through an improbable labyrinth of incredible experiences, Clifton has gained much wisdom and he shares that wisdom in his book.  Clifton’s consistent message is that it’s not so much about his life’s achievements or the riveting anecdotes he shares, but what he learned along the way that has brought him a strong sense of clarity and purpose.

Clifton with us these key learnings and how he wants to encourage others to be encouraged, to stay engaged, continue to show up in our lives and pursue our lives purpose to finish strong!

Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and ‘Wellness Journey’ host Lynnis Woods Mullins, on air November 21st ‘

Getting Your Groove Back in 2018 and Beyond ….Reprogram, Reenergize, Reconnect Your Mind, Body, Spirit, and Soul

We often go into a new season of life with hope and expectations for the better.  Whether it’s  ringing in a New Year with a new resolution or ushering in another birthday with expected new goals, we all have great expectations.  We look forward to reenergizing, reconnecting and in some cases reprograming ourselves in a new way of thinking and doing that gives us purpose and self -awareness.  Much like the character Stella did in the movie “When Stella Got Her Grove Back”, we want to get our “groove back”  .  We want the opportunity to start thriving again, to start walking in our purpose, to feel that sense of optimism and joy that should come with the start of anything “new”

The reality is that we never really lost our groove in the first place.  In many cases, our “groove” has been buried in the disappointments of the past, the feeling of being overwhelmed and not knowing what to do next.  Our “groove” gets buried under years of new resolutions that never happened and Birthday goals that didn’t get achieved.

But the good news is that it is not too late.  It is not too late to reprogram our thought process, re-energize our efforts, and reconnect with our quest to fulfill and in some case find our personal legend – our life purpose.

WJ 17-44 Holistically Healing Your Soul After 40

Wellness Journey with Lynnis Woods Mullins and her guest Dr. Katherine Kelly, on-air from October 31st

Changes and Transitions –

We are the result of the sum total of our life’s experiences – both good and bad.  By the time we get to mid-life we have a lot of “hurt” baggage that has unpacked its contents in the depths of our soul.  How do we begin to pack up all that hurt …the accumulation of years of disappointments, frustrations, hurt, anger, loss and heal our souls so we can move forward to living healthier and happier?

Dr. Katherine Kelly shares with us why it is important to heal our souls and what we can do to usher in a holistic form of healing for our mind, body, spirit, and soul.

Katherine T. Kelly, Ph.D., M.S.P.H. is a licensed psychologist in her own psychotherapy and consulting practice in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  With 25+ years of direct clinical experience, Dr. Kelly doesn’t just believe in helping others to heal; instead, her mission is to help them to evolve.  Using her own integrative framework – the south Health Model- Dr. Kelly approaches her work with clients from a “psycho-spiritual” perspective.  She provides a uniquely progressive, yet down-to-earth approach to healing and is well-known in both the therapeutic and medical communities.  She thrives as she helps clients to reach what she calls “consciousness evolution” through a variety of self-designed methods.

The Wellness Journey with Lynnis Woods-Mullins and her guest Dr Kat Smith, on air from October 24th

Enhancing Your Sex Life  In Mid-Life

I hear this so often from my clients and friends…”I just don’t feel sexy anymore” or “My husband and I just don’t have that spark, that intimacy anymore” Many of us after 40, 50, 60 and beyond begin to feel that we are losing our desire and our ability to be desired.  Still yet, some of us think that is just the way it is…as you get older…you get “less” when it comes to intimacy, pleasure, and love.
This couldn’t be further from the truth!

We all know that intimacy after 40 can be difficult – but it doesn’t have to be. Women need to feel empowered to get the love they want and the pleasure they deserve from their man. Plus a part of our wellness has everything to do with having healthy intimate relationships.

Dr Kat, Relationship and Intimacy Expert, Ted Ex Speaker, and Author shares with us what we can do to spice up intimacy with our significant other and ultimately enhance the overall quality of our love life.

Never put an age on love and intimacy for you will be denying yourself joy.
