MV_Noelle Headshot_2_smallNoelle M. Meade-Izzi known as “The Pollinator Queen”— Shares Her Passion for Bees, Birds,
Butterflies and Bats as the Natural World Faces Disruption and Decline

….And She Delivers a Message of Spiritual Pollination

Her Charming New Photo-Illustrated Book Chronicles How a Hummingbird Healed Her from
a Terrible Malaise After a Crushing Financial Crisis

Noelle M. Meade-Izzi is “The Pollinator Queen.” Her utter delight and passion for bees, birds, butterflies and bats make her their leading advocate at a time when mysterious declining hive census, diminishing habitat and various other threats loom large on the horizon. And when our way of living is endangered because these pollinators are essential to our food chain, we face a global natural crisis.

But for Noelle, the crisis is more than a natural one—it’s spiritual. Because she maintains it is nature that uplifts us by embracing us with its beauty and bounty. It’s a way for the Universe to reassure us when we find ourselves overwhelmed; it reminds us of goodness and our connection to all things.

MV_THE HUMMINGBIRD COVER_smallThis she knows firsthand. In her new book, The Hummingbird That Answered My Heart’s Calling, Noelle recounts her own touching story of her three-month sojourn with a mother hummingbird, Artemis, and one tiny nestling–and how that encounter brought her back from the brink of despair after being caught in the financial downturn and market crash of 2008.

A single woman, just having purchased her own home, starting a boutique design and photography business, Noelle found herself awash in fear and anxiety, facing the option of taking recommended anti-anxiety drugs and praying for another path.

But it was little Artemis that answered her prayers for relief. Nesting on Noelle’s balcony, preparing to give birth, Artemis provided the uplifting and inspiring encounter that began Noelle’s journey of discovery and healing. Together they welcomed “Baby” into the world, and The Hummingbird That Answered My Heart’s Calling chronicles that beautiful adventure with 40 stunning full-color photographs. The book is a paean to the delicacy and loveliness of nature’s creatures, the goodness that pervades the natural world; the peace, balance and harmony that we find in nature by giving it our undivided attention and true devotion; and the conduit to our own spiritual nature that we can experience through this intimate connection. It calls to hummingbird lovers, photography lovers, nature lovers, spiritual seekers, children and anyone needing a bit of inspiration.

But Noelle’s personal story is only a part of her mission. She sees herself as a special advocate for the pollinators, offering advice on how to build a hummingbird-friendly backyard habitat, ways to “give back” to the bee nation, methods for protecting and supporting what she calls the POWER POLLINATORS—bees, birds, butterflies and bats.

“They are the consummate givers in our Earthly life,“ she says. “We must acknowledge, educate, re-educate, honour and protect these benevolent beings. BALANCE, PERSEVERANCE and GENEROSITY, once deemed exclusive character traits of humans–are palpable in nature. “

With the most pressing need being the preservation of the bee population which has been decimated by a mysterious die-off not fully identified by scientists, Noelle’s goal is to help people see bees for the valued partners they are: harmonious, integrated, unified creatures working tirelessly for the greater good. She unceasingly works to educate as many adults and children as possible, using her company, Beenevolent® as a tool for funding more research; to serve and give back.

14/22 Ask Sara about Fibromyalgia, Myofascial pain, I.B.S, Depression and High Anxiety

Originally Aired June 2nd on Ask Sara with Sara Troy.

pain site 2Fibromyalgia -Myofascial pain, I.B.S, Depression and high Anxiety Asthma just to name a few. I have these and more and they have been around for a long time now….BUT I don’t let them stop me even if they slow me down.

So what have I done to live cohesively with these disorders so that I can build a radio station, and a foundation, counsel, and co-enterprise a new decision-making tool? I will share with you today what I use to help me and the mindset I have to put myself in to get through the day.  I am not ashamed of these disorders nor hide from them, for so many suffer from them, but we can help the problem and live a better life.

Here is a description of these disorders.

Fibromyalgia Symptoms

People with fibromyalgia frequently hurt all over and feel exhausted all the time. Those symptoms often force you to seriously limit your physical activity. It’s also common to have problems concentrating and remembering things. A lot of people with fibromyalgia have symptoms so severe that they have to quit their jobs due to the fatigue and pain.

Common fibromyalgia symptoms include:

Frequently, people with undiagnosed fibromyalgia don’t realise that a host of secondary symptoms are related to the pain, fatigue and other primary symptoms. Keeping a detailed list of symptoms can help your doctor make a diagnosis.

SOMETHING I have been using and works is Curcumin  a show on that HERE

Muscles Affected by Myofascial Pain

Myofascial pain is often caused by tension, spasm, or fatigue of the muscles that allow a person to chew, called the masticatory muscles. Grinding of the teeth and jaw clenching are related to myofascial pain and can lead to headaches.

It is common for myofascial pain to limit jaw movement and to affect muscles in the neck, back, and shoulder. Actually, myofascial pain can affect any skeletal muscle in the body. It is not limited to the muscles of mastication (chewing).

Now I know what it is learning what you can do about it here. HERE

What Is IBS?

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a digestive disorder that many people have, but few people talk about. It is estimated that IBS affects up to 15% of the population with its symptoms of chronic abdominal pain and major disturbance of bowel functioning. IBS can entail bouts of urgent diarrhoea, episodes of chronic constipation, or a pattern of alternating between the two. IBS is considered a functional disorder, in that it involves a malfunction in how the intestinal system works, but doesn’t show up in any visible disease process or tissue damage. If you have IBS, you know first hand how intense the disorder can be and how it can cause significant disruption in the ability to attend to the tasks of daily life.

Anxiety symptoms, anxiety attack symptoms: There are over 100 symptoms of anxiety, I only cover depression.

Because each person has a unique chemical makeup, the type, number, intensity, and frequency of anxiety symptoms will vary from person to person. For example, one person may have just one mild anxiety symptom, whereas another may have all anxiety symptoms and to great severity. All combinations are common.

Depression is a mental health illness that affects one in 10 Americans.More than just feeling down, clinical depression is a mood disorder characterised by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and worthlessness that don’t go away on their own. It is essential to recognise that feeling down on occasion is a normal – and important – part of life. Sad and distressful events occur in everyone’s life, and responding to them emotionally is healthy. However, feeling miserable consistently and without any sense of hope is not normal, and should be treated as a serious medical condition.

People experience depression in different ways. It can often interfere with a person’s daily responsibilities and relationships. Left untreated, the condition may last for months or years and often becomes worse. However, depression is a treatable medical condition, and those who seek treatment often see improvements in their symptoms.

Asthma

Asthma is a chronic lung disease that inflames and narrows the airways in the lungs. In the United States asthma affects an estimated 26 million people — many of whom aren’t aware that they have it, especially if their symptoms aren’t severe.

The most common symptoms are:

  • Coughing, especially at night, during exercise or when laughing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest tightness
  • Wheezing (a whistling or squeaky sound in your chest when you breathe, especially when exhaling)
  • Any asthma symptom is serious and can become deadly if left untreated.

Symptoms may be triggered by exposure to an allergen (such as ragweed, pollen, pet hair or dust mites), irritants in the air (such as smoke, chemical fumes or strong odors) or extreme weather conditions. Illness — particularly a respiratory illness or the flu — and exercise can also make you more susceptible.

A physical display of strong emotion that affects normal breathing patterns — such as shouting, crying or laughing — may also contribute to an asthma attack. Panic can prevent a person with asthma from relaxing and following instructions, which is essential during an attack. Scientists have found that rapid breathing associated with strong emotions can cause bronchial tubes to constrict, possibly provoking or worsening an attack.

Like any chronic condition, asthma can cause emotional strain. As a leading cause of work and school absences, it can have a significant effect on livelihood, education and emotional well-being. Depression may set in when people diagnosed with asthma believe that they are unable to participate in normal activities.

Asthma symptoms can happen at any time. Mild episodes may last only a few minutes and may be resolved spontaneously or with medication; more severe episodes can last from hours to days.

S15/10 “Uniquely Able” Living with Spina Bifida

Their Story Matters with Sara Troy and her guest Sarah Wilson originally aired in March

download (1)Spina bifida is part of a group of birth defects called neural tube defects. The neural tube is the embryonic structure that eventually develops into the baby’s brain and spinal cord and the tissues that enclose them.

Normally, the neural tube forms early in the pregnancy and closes by the 28th day after conception. In babies with spina bifida, a portion of the neural tube fails to develop or close properly, causing defects in the spinal cord and in the bones of the spine.

Spina bifida occurs in various forms of severity. When treatment for spina bifida is necessary, it’s done surgically, although such treatment doesn’t always completely resolve the problem.

11016305_10153156507243746_1864992490_nSarah Wilson is the creator and visionary behind the ( Reinvent and Revive) R & R Style Academy. She is a graduate of the Social Service Worker Program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Canada and is dedicated to helping women wake up in their own inner authority and show up expressing their individual story through their individual style.

Starting as an entrepreneur in June 2011 Sarah has worked hard to mould and craft herself and her brand as the authority of what she calls “storytelling through style”. She says, “I have to admit the first two years or so was about building me as much as I was working on the business, but now it’s time for R & R Style Academy to shine! Sarah strives to bring to life her end game vision of a one of a kind Lifestyle and Personal Growth Concierge Service and having many accolades Sarah says, “I am my client”. She’s the go-to woman when you want to connect to and power up your true authentic self and make the transition from feeling unknown to unstoppable in your life!

Sarah knows what it’s like to live a life of adversity being born with Spina Bifida and is here to spread her message that no matter what you have been through in your life you are here for a reason and you can shine through it!! Sarah has beat the odds since birth and has a unique perspective being born with a disability; she knows what it’s like to live cheque to cheque month to month living on Government assistance but even so she knew there was something bigger and better out there, this is something she says, “On some level I’ve always known and I’ve always wanted”. And even being a first-time business owner with no business background she says, I’ve always been stubborn and been able to make it through, and I’m determined to make this happen”.

Sarah relates to women who want to become their authentic self after feeling devalued or like you have to be someone you aren’t to please others and she is committed to being a change agent for women start up entrepreneurs who are wanting to make the move from Unknown to Unstoppable; find the connection between their inner self, their message & their unique style. Sarah has struggled to find her voice and knows what it’s like to not see your own potential because you feel others in your life don’t either, or to sell yourself short and settle because you feel this is all you deserve or this is as good as it gets. She understands that no one is perfect but at the end of the day just being you in an authentic way is good enough. You don’t have to live up to other people’s standards; instead, start to set a personal standard for yourself.

Sarah developed her own terminology which is something she has taken with her on her journey. She developed the term, “Uniquely Able” as opposed to disabled because she has never considered herself as having a disability she says, “I just do some things differently.” She developed this term because it’s her view that there are things that we all can’t do or don’t do well but it doesn’t mean we are different, it doesn’t mean we are “disabled” and it certainly doesn’t mean we are inadequate in any way, she says, “ it’s what makes us unique and individual.” She knows what it’s like to be looked at as “different” and she knows what it’s like to struggle with self-image issues and think you’re not good enough which leaves you wondering if you ever will be and she knows what it’s like to have others not accept you for who you are and give you a chance because they feel there is something wrong with you. She knows the feeling when others look at you and can’t see past the things you can’t change. She knows what it’s like when you feel you can’t get through the day because you think you’re not worth it and you feel others think the same. Sarah has been there, is able to relate and is committed to helping you live the life you want by becoming the women you are and deserve to be, because you can!

She has made it her bigger mission to create a society that looks past what each other can’t do to see that we are all unique and have “unique abilities”. And to break it down a bit Sarah wants to help women rise through their struggles and see their potential to create their path authentically or on their own terms. “I help women find the tools to feel empowered to be who they were truly meant to be authentically and make no excuses for it, and I teach women that their struggles are opportunities.” She says.

I am uniquely qualified to understand what it takes to create the movement that is deep within no matter what the odds seem to like to step by step achieve your goals in life and go through the personal growth necessary to reach your best self because I have struggled my whole life to find people that I TRULY connected with and that really saw and appreciated me for who I am. It wasn’t until I started not to be so wrapped up in what others thought of me and started to focus on what I thought of myself that things really started to change.

Our setbacks, struggles and heartbreaks are a part of us, they don’t make us who we are and so we help women rise through their struggles to stand in their own power as they woman they were meant to be.”Instead of judgement why not be curios.” Anonymous

“There are two types of people in the world; those who know they can and those who think they can’t, which side of the fence are you on” – Sarah Wilson

And my new favourite quote from T.D. Jakes “What do people get when they get you”? This to me relates so well to conveying our story and how people perceive us both inside and out.

Sarah’s accolades include becoming a:

  • Becoming an ambassador for Runway of Dreams
  • Co author in Holistic Fashionista Memoirs: Tales of Adversity, Perseverance, and Success and What’s Your Vision? A Guide For Designing The Life Of Your Dreams With Vision Boards
  • She founded and developed her first telesummit in November 2012; the Authentically You Telesummit
  • She has spoken at numerous events and run her very own workshop as well, “Labels are for Products Not People” for the Earn Conference with United Way Ottawa
  • She has been published in Holistic Fashionista Magazine as well at the Ottawa Citizen Newspaper
  • She was interviewed for the Fall edition of Physio Therapy Magazine
  • She had a televised interview with AMI (Accessible Media Inc.)
  • She has had the pleasure of being invited to be a guest on Dawn Bournand’s radio show Fabulously Successful Radio
  • Created and founded her very first radio show Life Without Limits in May of 2014 and;
  • She has been a guest blogger for many different types or lifestyle blog

Let’s face it, we all have things we feel we can’t do or we don’t do well but its Sarah’s thought that to discover who you truly are and what you’re really made of you need to use your struggles and things you’ve overcome in your life to your advantage and not try to work against them. “I believe everything happens for a reason and it’s very true what they say; God doesn’t give us more than he thinks we can handle.” And in using the term uniquely able, it sets the tone that everyone has things they can’t do so instead let’s focus on what we can. R & R Style Academy is here to help you see what you have to offer and that you are truly unique and have so much to share in your own way.
