P15/04b The Conversation a Journey into Consciousness

Airing January 27th on Positive Living Vibrations with Sara Troy and her guest Jeff Cannon

Join “The Conversation”

A Journey of Transcendence You Will be Surprised Where It Leads

Jeff-Cannon-Modern-Meditation-480-214x300The Conversation is less a book than it is an experience.  Based on the five lucid dreams of the author and Modern American Monk, Jeff Cannon, The Conversation travels the energy of existence from the physical to the metaphysical and beyond as it takes its reader on a journey that balances God and Evolution, Spirituality and Science, the Human and the Divine.

This is a simple story of awakening through the transference Jeff experienced with his dream-guide on the Greek island of Ithaka and through the simplicity of Love.

The Conversation is the basis for much of Jeff’s teachings.  It weaves Western science and Eastern philosophy into a wonderful tapestry and meditation on Life, Death, Love and Transcendence.

Slide2-200x300Jeff Cannon is the author of numerous books on meditation, spirituality and wellness. He is a member of NYU Hospital’s Patient Advisory Board and a contributor to Huffington Post, Mind Body Green and countless other websites and blogs.  He wrote The Simple Truth: Meditation for the Modern World in 2009 after which he founded The Simple Truth Project where he teaches Modern Meditation privately as well as through public workshops.

Jeff has survived 8 brain surgeries that removed more than 22 tumors in as many years.  He has witnessed the evolution of neuroscience through each surgery first hand.  His first operation used a hand-drill in 1992.  His most devastating operation removed six brain tumors in 2009.  His latest surgery lasted 14 hours, after which he could not see, speak or stand.

Through each, Jeff has spent months watching his own brain heal and reboot itself.  He has spent years exploring how meditation can help to overcome the issues he has faced, and continues to amaze doctors and researchers with his ability to heal, to recover and to let go so that he can move beyond and live his life.

He now teaches others how to transform their lives through Modern Meditation – the union of traditional Eastern Meditation Practices and Western Science.  It is a practice that refines traditional meditation techniques to better respond to the realities of the world we all live in, and to create transformational change in their lives.

P15/04a A Womans Right to Freedom

Aired from January 27th on Positive Living Vibrations with Sara Troy and her guest Tasleem Mulhall

Why this global problem of forcing a child into marriage robs many young girl’s life. It is still happening today in some cultures because it is tradition, how Tasleem changed that tradition in her own life and now speaks for the women of today to find empowerment over their own choices.

 Tasleem Mulhall

20535_104054679614820_3485037_nWhen Tasleem Mullhall ran away from home as a teenager to escape a forced marriage, she never dreamed that she’d end up as a respected campaigner for women’s rights and a very vocal and forthright speaker against forced marriages and child marriage as well.

Although Tasleem is probably best known as an internationally exhibited artist, most of her work has a common thread running through it. which might explain why she has become increasingly in demand in the political arena as women’s rights campaigner and especially as a speaker against child marriage. Images of these issues are a regular theme in her work and reveal why she is such a passionate speaker on the subject, feted by politicians, supported by ambassadors and courted by numerous charitable institutions, like the Freedom Charity .

She is an ambassador for Freedom Charity on forced marriage; a spokesperson on Child Marriage for Independent Yemen Group. She is also a trustee for the Carpe Diem Foundation Trust assisting deprived students to obtain grants to better their education. She also spoke on Female Genitalia Mutilaition at the International Women for Women and EBRD Conference last year and again for Safe Hands Foundation at the October Gallery.Tasleem so impressed the organizers when she spoke at the Early Child Marriage Conference held at the College of Westminster, that they asked her to include her speech as a transcript to submit to the Nigerian High Commissioner in London which will then be presented to the Nigerian Houses of Parliament in Nigeria for their Bill to change of the law on child marriage. She addressed MP’s in the Houses of Parliament on many occasions last year, most notably for the United Nations Human Rights Conference in 2013 and for the United Peace Federation and The Unity of Faiths Conference, as well as the Nigerian Women’s Forum NWIDLF in Westminster College. She then was then invited by START Foundation to take a workshop to an orphanage in Amman in Jordan, where she taught abused children and refugees to use the medium of art as a means to more freely express themselves. In her capacity as a women’s rights campaigner and child marriage spokesman she has appeared variously on Sky News on several occasions, the BBC News, BBC Asia, BBC World Service, BBC Radio 4, Left Avvenimenti , Italian newspaper, pitching the uk wordpress and the Mail on Sunday as well. She has spoken in many conferences like at The Centre for Parliamentary Studies where she spoke on the Key Speech on “Zero Tolerance in Tackling Forced Marriage and “Honour” BasedViolence”. She was also raised the issue of forced marriages at the Yemen International Conference at the London Middle East Institute. She raised the issue of child marriage again at the British Yemeni Society during their Yemeni Women Know Your Limit conference, as well as last years Magistrates Conference.  Tasleem support and volunteer to several charity search as The Womanity Foundation, The Victoria Foundation and Ham & Petersham Organisation SOS .

Tasleem is Currently working on her book , but through art she gains her voice. ” Break The Tradition.”

Tasleem Mulhall is based in Redlees Studio where she showcases much of her work, from photography, oil paintings, and various sculptures from small clay models to giant metal statues. She is also highly proficient in performance art and believes this is another liberating means for artists to express themselves. She is the first British Yemeni female artist to be exhibited abroad and in many different mediums. Tasleem also works as a photojournalist . Tasleem?s work often touches upon how women are depicted and treated in Arabic culture whilst still acknowledging that women are sexual beings. Many may think that such political polemy should have no place in art, but her work expresses the world as she has experienced it. For her it is the truth. Tasleem?s art may be controversial but it has not stopped her being active within Yemeni organisations in Britain and with the ambassador?s office in London. While there are aspects of Yemeni culture that she objects to, such as much of the treatment of women, she is still proud of her heritage.

Tasleem is honoured to be held as the first British Yemeni female artist to ever hold a solo exhibition and did so in fine style in Mayfair, London.

12039328_1003727736314172_4230841348200641377_nJust as the driving force behind Tasleem l the campaigner is her political orientations so it is also with Tasleem the artist which all her work and exhibitions reflect either directly or as a subtext. Tasleem Mulhall receive great review from the art credits and she was the first British female artist to be on the cover of Migrant Woman Magazine and Yemen Today Magazine .

Tasleem also exhibited in Embassy Tea Gallery, Bounds/Bonds Mayfair, Studio1.1, The East India Dock, The Chart Gallery, The Big Deal in Q Park, she exhibited in the Open Studio, Redlees Studios, The Bentall Centre, The Treaty Centre, and many other outlets in the Richmond and Twickenham areas including the Laurel.Salon, and Acena on the Hill. As well as exhibiting at the Artists Message of Peace at the Hundred Years Gallery and donated works for the Mystery Art for Youth Exhibition at the Royal College of Art.

P15/03a Becoming a “Female Leader” in today’s world

Aired from January 20th on Positive Living Vibrations with Sara Troy and her guest  Nicole Dominique Le Maire

I am now 37 and can say that starting my own business has been a challenge, but one that inspires me every day. I love waking up and knowing that I will be doing something totally different each day.

Nicole Dominique Le MaireNicole Dominique Le Maire has gained a reputation as a highly valued leader within the female business and Human Resources Industry. As a multi-talented woman entrepreneur and a global people connector, she is also the co-author of two books, including ‘The Female Leader’.

Nicole is an expert in leading people-based activity from a strategic and operational perspective, with a gift for developing entrepreneurs. As a result, she has gained tremendous experience guiding startups and entrepreneurs which has supplemented her MBA, MAHRM, and MCIPD and this has catapulted her to become one of the top leaders in the Human Resources and Female Leader industry.

Overcoming dyslexia and becoming a very successful woman takes belief in one’s self,  women in business is very important today and is powerful, and a catalyst that creates new opportunities for women just starting out. As women, we tend to value relationships and through that, we can open up new avenues for global partnerships that drive win-win relationships between organizations.

If you take me for example, I am a very creative individual who enjoyed coming up with new ideas for the corporate business I was working in. Now at that time there were certainly many benefits to working inside a company and focusing on moving the corporate business forward, yet the idea of putting too many eggs in one basket and working on multiple projects at once kept me excited, yet ultimately it leads to a feeling of boredom.

This boredom is very current and linked in many cases (from my experience) to high achievers (especially women) leaving the corporate workforce. In a way not taking the role of intrapreneurial women in the corporate industry serious can kill the spirit of true innovation. This could be the reason as to why so many corporate intrapreneurial programs fail in the mainstream.

Women’s entrepreneurship is becoming an increasingly hot button topic. Women who want to experience financial independence and also experience the thrill that comes with owning one’s own business. There’s a lot that goes into running a successful business, and it can take a while to actually get something done, depending on how hard one works and what industry one chooses.

My experience of working with women and what the biggest challenges are that women face succeeding with their business

In most parts of our society, we have come to accept that men and women generally have the same capability to do a job. However, as much as mainstream society is poised to embrace the growing power of women in the workplace, there are many studies that show that people are unable to grapple with the idea of a female leader, yet more and more surveys have shown that female managers and business leaders are getting higher marks and reviews than ever before.

As more women role models appear in industries and companies throughout the world, it is becoming clear to anyone that female leadership is not only real but will likely surpass male leadership numbers in the future. I have worked with women in business for many years and I myself have faced the challenges of being a female intrapreneur whilst still working at companies such as DHL, Alstom, Epson and now as a female business owner.

What is the wisdom you would share with women who want to get engaged in business?

The Female Leader - Founder Nicole Dominique Le MaireIn order for a brand to be memorable, it has to stand out from the crowd. You need to be different from everyone else in order to create a memorable brand persona. Add your talents and skills to your unique persona, and you will find the sweet spot that only your company can fill.

It is a big step, so be sure it is really what you want. You have to commit to long-term growth and learning and you will face challenges that will help you develop as a woman in business.

P15/03b A Mans Embracement of “The Curse” the Feminine Cycle

Positive Living Vibrations with Sara Troy and her guests Gabriella Guglielminotti Trivel  and Peter Claiden, aired from January 20th on

download (2)“The Curse”.a woman’s monthly cycle that in the eyes of others make a woman become monstrous. NOT SO, in today’s show we will be talking to Gabriella and her man Peter to discuss the myths and truly understand the workings of a woman cycle and how it can have a positive affect on relationships.

Gabriella was born in Italy and studied foreign languages at the University of Turin, her home city. She is a qualified Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and has traveled around Europe, Asia, Africa, America and Antarctica.

In 2012 she published a book, ‘Antarctic Odyssey: a New Beginning’, about her adventures there. At present she is learning to fly gliders in order to gain a different perspective on the world  and become a real ‘Flying Inspiration’!

She is an author, speaker, visionary and coach who helps women to gain confidence, authority and fulfillment in life by knowing better their body. She also helps couples improve their relationship and find a more satisfying way to communicate to have better intimacy.

Women often experience a loss of identity, lack of direction, disconnection from their body, lack of libido and intimacy with their partner and themselves at some stage of their lives. This can trigger physical problems like PMS, cravings, mood swings, weight gain, low self esteem, lack of energy/libido,  direction and cause relationship issues.

In fact, our body is trying to get in contact with us through these symptoms which can create mental and emotional states that can be very challenging to say the least.

Gabriella has a solution for all these problems and helps women to reconnect with their body and feminine cycle to improve the quality of life.

What I would like to teach our audience

I would like to teach this audience of women and men that understanding and honouring our feminine cycle is fundamental to our well-being as women and for our personal growth.

images (81)To learn to recognize our shortcomings, accept our mood swings, find the root cause of our emotions, embrace our sexuality, understand our natural rhythms, connect with our inner wisdom and spiritual self, is an integral part of our personal growth as women. This will allow us to love ourselves more for who we are and, as a result, we can have better and more fulfilling intimate relationships with our partner or any person with whom we relate.

When we restore connection with ourselves, being our body, heart, soul and psyche, a whole string of emotions, problems and  physical states can show up as a result of this renewed attention to ourselves.  As women, we may not realize that part of our body wisdom resides in our womb and getting in touch with our feminine cycle can expand our bodily and mental awareness. This can lead to the healing of emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual issues.

It is only when we are connected with our inner voice and spirit that we can experience joy and fulfillment on a regular basis.

Through my company, ‘Flying Inspiration’, I help women and men to reach an understanding of themselves by either having one-to-one sessions or through workshops where this wisdom is shared within a group.

Peter Claiden  CEng,  FRAeS,  OBE

I started my aviation career after leaving school with a 5 year Engineering Apprentiship at Hatfield with Hawker Siddeley Aviation.  Upon completion, having qualified in Aero Mechanical engineering I worked for a further 10 years with the company (then British Aerospace) testing and developing aircraft systems.  Between 1980 and 2001, I was employed by the Air Accident Investigation Branch as an Inspector of Air Accidents (Engineering), and from 2001 until 2010 as a Principal Inspector (Engineering), following which I retired.  Already a glider pilot, along the way I gained a PPL with SEP, MEP, night and IMC ratings, gaining over 4000 hours TT, and I have a LAA Inspector qualification. I have spent many years towing gliders with such tugs as the SuperCub, Pawnee, Eurofox and Robin DR400 and also fly my own 2-seat motor glider.  I curently am a GASCo Board member and undertake accident investigation work for the British Gliding Association.

I met Gabriella about 4 years ago through our shared interest in gliding/flying, and we have become partners.  We have spent many hours flying together and often discuss her interest in women’s cycle.  My thoughts on this are contained in the attached document.

A new way of living for women who want to fly in life!

PETERS PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE ON HOW TO HAVE A CHANCE OF A FULFILLING AND UNDERSTANDING RELATIONSHIP

I grew up in a family with three older sisters and a mother, my father being away a lot of the time.  My mother was very busy working full time and, although she undoubtedly loved us all, was not a particularly touchy-feely huggy sort of person.  So, as time passed, I to some extent I assumed the role of the male in the household, quickly learning to fix things, change fuses, wire up plugs etc….. You would think therefore that I would have picked up a lot of experience/knowledge about girls/women.  Well, I suppose I did in certain general ways I did but, being family females, I didn’t see them other than that.

In those days (the 50s/60s), the discussion of matters relating to emotions, sex education etc just didn’t occur, at least not with me in our family.  Therefore I was really quite ignorant of women, in particular, their emotions, their menstrual cycle and how hormones can induce changes in behaviour and mood.  I have been through several full time relationships and marriages, all of which were not ultimately successful.  So, of course, I have asked myself many times why?

In the last few years, having developed a wonderful relationship with GG and learnt much from her passion about wanting to educate both men and women about understanding each other on a deeper rather than superficial level, I have begun to understand a little of how women are affected throughout their monthly cycle.  Had I been aware of this earlier in my life, it is possible, perhaps likely, that previous relationships would not have floundered.  Arguments that follow (to a man) seemingly unimportant issues being raised, if repeated enough times, eat away at what probably started out as a wonderful relationship.  None of this however, means that all women can blame relationship difficulties entirely upon their cycle,

To be specific, the really good analogy of dividing the (notional) 28 day menstrual cycle into four, and calling them the Seasons, ie, Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn, works well in understanding (particularly from a male point of view) the changes that often occur in women throughout the month.  Of course, it is to be expected that some women will be affected more than others, and different men will react differently to cyclical changes in their partners.  To a lot of men, the pre-menstrual time is when most difficulties occur – the ‘dreaded’ PMT.  If only men could be made aware that their partner almost certainly does not deliberately go out of their way to be reactive to apparently minor issues at this time, then a lot of relationship problems might just dissolve away.  How often have I thought (and no doubt many other men)….”What on earth have I done now?”…..Of course, us sometimes unthinking males may well have done some irritating thing, but often it comes out of the blue.  So rather than reacting aggressively to this type of situation, understanding what might be behind it is worth exploring.

In Conclusion, Peter says

If we as men really try to understand the changes which take place in women over their cycle, then several benefits should happen.  Firstly, if one genuinely loves and respects their partner, the payback could so easily be a deeper and more loving (not to mention sensual) relationship.  Secondly, it may well allow us, men, to have a better understanding of ourselves, in how we react to, and understand, these changes.

If you wish to talk to Peter please request through Gabriella.
