I love learning from others, their life’s journey inspires me to find the strength and courage to live my own life, and without them I do not know if I would still be here, for these stories here on Self Discovery Media have shown me who I am and how to love myself.

When you hear how someone overcame a challenge so big it would cripple most, but they found within them a strength that would push them through in to a meaningful purpose that not only serves them but all who know them.

This is my WHY and I am proud of my meaningful purpose in bringing these wonderful souls to you to help you on your journey in life. To share their knowledge, their skills and their passion for helping others on their path, because in our abundant light and good vibrations we will help this world become a better place for everyone.

I was born in East Germany in 1977 and grew up in the city of Jena. Until the age of 12 years old, I experienced the experiment socialism-communism. While religion did not play a role in my family I was raised on humanistic values. I learned Russian as my first foreign language and attended an elite sports school. As I grew up in this political-economic system I saw first hand how businesses operated in the context of the rigid paradigm. I also witnessed the effects on people and the environment. In 1989 the Berlin wall fell and Germany was reunited in October 1990. An entire new world opened up for me. I graduated from high school and went on to study Business Administration. I finished my college degree in Arizona where I moved in 1998 to Northern Arizona University. After a first work experience in the San Francisco Bay Area, I returned to Northern Arizona University in 2000 to attend the MBA program. I graduated with an MBA degree with an emphasis in international marketing and finance in 2001. In the same year, I joined the Salt Lake Organising Committee to stage the 2002 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Salt Lake City. During this experience, I really took the humane Olympic values in. In spring 2002 I returned to Germany and started a 14-year career at global sports brand Adidas where I worked in various positions within global marketing and finance. Working for a global brand and leading a team which was located around the world gave me global exposure. During the many business trips, I did not only get to see the marketplaces and consumers in the various countries but also got to experience the social and environmental problems around the globe. At Adidas, I met many very inspirational purpose-driven people some of whom have become lifetime friends. I also volunteered for Adidas’ own foundation “adidas fund” in the favelas of Brazil working with youth to teach positive values on the basis of sports. Grateful for all the experiences and learnings I could gain I left Adidas in 2016 on good terms to pursue my life’s purpose. At the end of 2016, I served several weeks as a volunteer in one of the largest refugee camps in Lesbos, Greece where thousands of refugees who fled from the IS war and the crises in Africa live in inhumane conditions. This profound and very humbling experience has strengthened my intent to leverage my skills to create more dignity in the world. I am also greatly concerned about the destruction of ecosystems. The polar bear has become the tragic symbol of global warming. I love nature and I love polar bears. I am fully committed to doing what is necessary to protect mother Earth as I deeply believe that economy is only a subset of ecology.

Layne Dalfen founded The Dream Interpretation Center in Montreal in 1997. She has been a lecturer for the Counselling students at Concordia University in Montreal since 2005. Her interest in dreams stems from her early experience in Freudian analysis where dream work was the primary tool. She later studied at The Gestalt Counselling and Training Center Certificate Program in Montreal, and Adlerian principles with Dr. Leo Gold of The Alfred Adler Institute in New York. She has been a member of The International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD) since 1997, and was a Board of Directors member from 2005-2009, where she has had the opportunity to lecture in The US, Canada and Europe.

Combining insight from Freud, Adler, Jung and Perls Gestalt Psychology, her focus is introducing the general public to the value of decoding their dreams. She does this by teaching easy-to-grasp ideas about how to uncover the solutions to our current issues that appear in our dreams every night.

She has appeared on over 150 radio shows across America and has been featured on numerous TV networks. Layne has written articles for magazines both in Canada and The US. Layne is also well known at Rancho La Puerta Spa in Mexico.

During her lectures, as well as through her books Have a Great Dream; Book 1; The Overview: Decoding Your Dreams To Discover Your Full Potential, and its companion work Have a Great Dream; Book 2; A Deeper Discussion, Dalfen’s goal is to introduce the general public to the value of understanding their dreams.

In the US a teen takes their own life every 100 minutes.

In the UK suicide is the biggest killer of young people. With over 200 school children lost to suicide every year.

Experts say Teens feel more hopeless and helpless than previous years. Why might this be?

We need to provide more coping skills on surviving in chaotic times.

How do we nurture self love, respect for life, grow hope not despair? and most of all learn how to laugh at life, ourselves and with each other for that is the healing method.

The mission of the centers being that to provide a modern day sanctuary on the high street for the mind body and soul. Stemming from my wish to provide inspiration and good well-being for my children and children all over the world I had the idea to write a series of children’s yoga books which children could read and enjoy individually or as an adult. The aim of the Magnificent Me, Magnificent You series is to highlight to children the many wonderful qualities they have within and also the amazing beauty and power of the natural world.

Each book in the series has an adventure based around a Natural Wonder of the world along with lots of fun activities to inspire mind, body, and soul. Sally has over 16 years of experience in working with energy to facilitate healing for clients around the world, being a trained Reiki practitioner, reflexologist, and massage therapist, having a natural ability to read the energy of another (in person or via distance), then to actively work with the person’s energy to release any blockages and facilitate expansion. GUS 18-40 Transcendence in Meditation with Jeff Hutchinson

“The World According to GUS” with Charles Eduardos and his guest Jeff Hutchinson, on air October 2nd

Jeff’s journey began with the exploration into the development of consciousness over 45 years ago when he learned Transcendental Meditation (TM). He has, from that point, become a teacher of TM, a Certified Yoga Teacher, a Yoga Therapist, Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner, and Reiki Master. Charles and Jeff begin the process of showing the connectedness of the ultimate truth contained in virtually all systems of spirituality that lead us to Transcendence in Meditation.

Jeff’s exploration into the development of consciousness began over 45 years ago when he learned Transcendental Meditation (TM). Experiences from practicing TM led him to spend 6 months, in Europe, doing extensive meditation, yoga and breath-work in order to teach Transcendental Meditation. He taught TM for several years before entering the corporate world.

In between corporate careers Jeff trained and became a Certified Yoga Teacher (200 hrs.) and taught multiple yoga classes. He continues to teach today. He later pursued additional training and become a Yoga Therapist (500 hrs.). Feeling the results of a regular yoga practice and meditation led him to a greater interest in the healing arts.

He thus studied and became a licensed massage therapist (2-year training class), opening North Coast Massage. Combining his yoga and massage knowledge, he created and taught a yoga anatomy class to yoga teachers. He further supplemented his massage knowledge with Thai Massage training to become a Thai Yoga massage practitioner. He practices Swedish, Sports and Thai massage.

As his yoga, meditative, breathing and chanting practices became subtler, he opened to the healing art of Reiki and through training became a Reiki master. This greater interest and experience of the subtle energy practices has also led to completing training in the reading Akashic Records. He is now certified to read Akashic Records.

Jeff is a long-time explorer of the frontier of consciousness development. Many personal experiences and practices as well as teachers and authors have aided his journey toward awakening. He shares that journey through his public speaking.

Jeff retired from multiple analytical positions in the telecommunications, banking and municipal sectors including positions as a statistician, regulatory testimony writer, director of business issues analysis and billing analyst.
