Lori Peters is the founder of The Happiness Hangout™ she provides resources, activities and readings through her website, blog, various social media outlets and her radio show. Her focus is on putting out good information that helps others increase and expand their happiness levels which raise their overall well-being. Lori also provides writings and professional and fun presentations to various organizations. She does this work because it’s her passion and she has been moving down this path for many years until the opportunity came to really go for it! Her hope is to continue to find new experiences and opportunities where she can assist others in any way needed using the skills and gifts she is so grateful to have acquired.

She has also been studying and providing training in positive life management, happiness and well-being, The Artist Way, and the Law of Attraction for 20 years. Lori is a Facilitator of the Artist’s Way- a program to help you unleash your creativity and is now a College Instructor teaching Counseling in social sciences. Lori has provided numerous presentations on various personal development topics including a program around happiness and well-being called Live Happy-Live Better. She also volunteers on a national level and had the opportunity to be part of a team that runs a major non-profit. One of her passions is work-life balance, something she was not so good at until the last few years. Lori earned her Bachelors in Business and Masters in Counseling and Higher Education and provides resources and information through her radio show, social media, and blog. She is also a writer for a magazine that supports positive life experiences and provides numerous professional and fun presentations in enhancing and keeping up your happiness levels for various types of audiences.

We all fear death – this is a fact of life. Nobody, give or take some people with special circumstances, wants to die. And no one wants to lose a loved one although chances are that all of us will, sooner or later.

When I embarked on my journey I was not completely adverse to spirituality, but as a former diplomat, turned political writer, I was certainly not one of those spiritual types. And although I considered myself an atheist, I also agreed that there just, very possibly, might be ‘something out there’, something bigger than us all. But I did not have the time or interest to delve into religion or other spiritual practices. I was simply too busy living, working, raising a young family.

When we lost my healthy, fit and handsome twenty-year-old brother in a drowning accident in 2010, I was in a state of shock and deep grief, like anyone in a similar situation would be. But as the weeks and months passed, I embarked on a spiritual journey, trying to understand death, bereavement – and life. I read books, attended seminars and talks, grief counseling sessions and even a few sessions of hypnotherapy, and more specifically – Past Life Regression. I was curious and thought: why not, I’ve got nothing to lose.

There’s one funny thing about dead people, and that’s that you can talk to them all you want, and they can’t talk back. Or can they? Ask anyone who’s lost a loved one, and many will tell you that the dead can actually talk back. Whether in a dream, a whisper in the wind or your imagination, our dead friends and relatives are always there with us, even years after they’ve passed on.

It’s a bit like having a Twitter account – small messages keep popping up, perhaps you are sometimes mentioned or even followed – but if you don’t check your account, you will not notice.

If you had lost someone you love, even if it was many years ago, try a small experiment: open your eyes, your ears and your thoughts to the little messages from the Other Side. And who knows, you might have a pleasant surprise. You might get some virtual tweets from the afterlife.

On Dragonfly Wings: a skeptic’s journey to mediumship was out in April 2014 (Axis Mundi Books) followed by Collecting Feathers: tales from The Other Side (Soul Rocks Books, November 2014). Recognitions, first of a trilogy, is her début novel, published by Roundfire Books in 2016.

People live their entire lives for mistakes. They think they got “the skein yarn” means of control, leading the predictable life. Well, life is not predictable nor does it have to be. If God has placed you in a world in trouble, it’s because he knows that by trying to overcome obstacles you are getting smarter, intelligent, you evolve and become stronger. You are able to connect and resolve issues within your soul – it’s wonderful.

God has allowed experiences/issues/challenges to come your way so that you can evolve and at times to clear karma from past lives, and what do you do? You activate the control side of you and spend your life doing and devising strategies to ward off problems, to avoid them. Those who avoid problems do not evolve! You have to face your fear of eternal loss.

If you understand that nothing belongs to you and in your heart you start feeling, feeling that all you think you have is actually borrowed throughout life, your lifetime, you then never lose anything, and thus will not need to defend or control. Fear of losing creates a need to control and that control generates frustrating situations in your life, where you hurt and in turn hurt others because you create a block in your life and the force of life stops and blocks. So in order for you to flow in the river of life and for your path to return to its right way, it is imperative that you stop controlling and start observing life.

Bring forward the signs of change and therefore transformation. Accept that, for you to stop controlling, you have to learn to lose. The loss is directly linked to the fluidity of life, with happiness. This will never make you a loser or a winner – as you are in your right path in life, learning to “lose”, to lose what’s no longer needed for your evolution. People think that in order for them to be completely happy, they must have it all, they have to win, they have to have what they want and have it their way, but in fact when they find themselves, when they connect in spirit to Universe/God with what all that they are, they must learn to lose so they can win.

When this mistake is reviewed, when one really comprehends that winning and to keep on winning, has to do with their own exterior self-esteem (self-esteem means, you like yourself for what you have in your heart, and not liking yourself for what you think you want to be), when you realize, all returns to the place that was to be from the day that you lost your way and you then begin to tread the true path of true and pure happiness, the happiness that you have from pure love.

All the rhetoric and wisdom of the ages would no longer suffice for such a turning point in time. It merited a revolutionary-evolutionary next step. From conceptuality to actuality. Nothing short of a hands-on event with an unheard of theme (a multicultural celebration of humanity, broadcast live worldwide) could captivate a global audience’s attention and perhaps instils wonder.

Synchronistory is the brainchild of Alison Goldwyn, a native New Yorker with a background in music, psychology, and the performing arts.

Alison Goldwyn has never authored a best-selling book … she has never given a TED talk nor written anything for the Huffington Post … she has never met the Pope, shaken hands with the Queen nor received a letter of praise from the Dalai Lama … she is neither a Harvard graduate nor the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship … and she has never been appointed to the Board of anything.

She is, however, a Human Being who has spent the last decades exploring this undervalued experience that we so take for granted. She was awarded a chocolate Nobel Prize in Norway for doing so.

Alison has worked as an entrepreneur in marketing, fashion, and has written and produced for small Inde films as well as Turkish television. Her passion is exploring the byways of human nature with an inquisitive cultural eye – be it the inner realms of the psyche or the outer reaches of the universe. Her soulful connection to music enriches her journey and it is this ensemble that became the seeds for an unprecedented venture initiated nearly 30 years ago in her native New York City.
