How we see ourselves can be so detremental to our wellbeing, stop putting yourself down and see the beauty of you, within you. We get so dictated to by what we think is beautiful that we stop seeing our own beauty, as we age we see sagging, wrinkles, graying, instead we should see life lived, laughter lines, silver halo and resonate all the beauty within and around us.

I love a woman who embraces her age, her battle scars, her life lived, for it shows me her truimphs, it shows me her resonance of beauty exuding from her very being.

We need to love ourselves as we are and let that love flow, for it is that love in which we grow in and in which we are truly seen.

My company The Art of Positive Living has been operational since 2001, where I discovered my ability to help people in a different way. I will be speaking to what is the Art of Positive Living and why our thoughts, words, feelings and intent is important in embracing that positivity.

We are what we invite, we are what we vibrationally put out, we are our content or discontent, we must choose what we feed in order to perceive its actualization. I have been running a program for the last 43 years called Your View of Life which speaks to where you are in life right now, and when we see the now we understand the how. Just 2 Choices has its roots in both aviation and art—two of Rico’s favourite subjects as a kid. Fast-forward in life, as a pilot first for the US Air Force and now for a US major airline, Rico has applied aviation’s step-by-step processes, analytical skills and logic, as well as applied art’s visual layouts to left the Just 2 Choices materials, to make learning key information faster so people can say “I get it!” and quickly and immediately apply it to improving the quality of their lives—beginning right here, right now—with their very next choice! Prior to writing Just 2 Choices, Rico has used his aviation and art background to write and publish three “visual guidebooks” for young people on positive choice and goal setting (elementary school, middle school, and high school).

Enjoying both art and aviation, originally Rico Racosky planned to attend college to study commercial art, but made a last-minute switch to aviation. While still pursuing flying, he continued his interest in the graphic arts by writing, designing, and publishing three fully illustrated, visual guidebooks for youth on setting and achieving goals: Go Vertical! Life Has No Ceiling; dreams + action = Reality®; and d+a=R™ (see “4 kids” tab). In addition, Rico’s spent more than 20 years speaking in schools and youth programs around the USA, sharing the dreams + action = Reality philosophy that “Not one of us knows what great things we can achieve until we ricoracosky-violetshirt take positive action to find out for ourselves.” Growing up in Johnstown, PA, Rico received his undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science) from the United States Air Force Academy and graduate degree (Masters of Science in Management) from the University of Southern California.

Rico’s professional pilot experiences span a variety of aircraft—from fighters (F-16 and A-7) to transports (C-141 and Boeing 737) to sea planes, gliders, and light air-planes. Formerly a pilot and flight instructor for the US Air Force, Rico is currently flying the Boeing 737 as a Captain for Southwest Airlines. In addition, his aviation experience includes working as a supervisor of aircraft maintenance.

16-40 A Gift of 62 Years

62 years old, where did the time go?

I look at the youth today and think back to my own, so long ago. How did I see 62 at that time, did I every think I would be this age? It is true we do start looking back, was I more carefree? was I more spirited? was I contributing to the world?

It is easy to look back, not because there is nothing to look forward to, but to see how far we have come. I have known darkness, loneliness, abuse, pain, loss, poverty and fear, but I choose now to see hope, possibilities, community, love and kindness. Life is going to give us what we give it, with love kindness, self value and respect we find our purpose in what we really are here for.

So I celebrate the fact I am 62 years old, I have worked hard for each and every one of those years, and I can honestly say that I am proud of who I am today because of my journey.

In my book of life I have had many chapters, many stories, some horrors, some love stories, some joys and some sorrows, some losses, many gains, but it is my book and one thing I can say it I have lived life. It ain’t over till its over, so 62 years young, I started a new career at 57 y. old, and loving my work on Self Discovery Radio, finally finding my purpsoe and my voice, my MEANING OF LIFE. So never consider your too old to get out and live, you may slow down, you may smell the roses, but never stop for life is to be lived to the very last drop.

Have a slice of cake on me and may your life’s journey be filled with wonderment, purpose, joy, health, love and light, remember it will be what you make it be.
