C22-15.Victoria Coure. A Contagious Smile after Abuse

Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest Victoria Coure, on air from April 12th

A Contagious Smile has been supporting families with both special needs as well as survivors of domestic violence for well over 16 years now. As a special needs parent, a survivor of domestic violence, and being special needs myself, I understand first-hand just how challenging it was and still is to be able to find the assistance that you need. This is a place where there is no judgment, no bullying and you get to be YOU! We offer support groups, social groups, classes, legal preparation, and much more. Finally, a place where you can be amongst lifelong friends, who understand exactly who and where you are because each and every one of us has been there or is still there. We believe in having fun, learning with laughter, and supporting one another’s dreams.

Heather Mathes began modeling in 1988. She continued modeling professionally after graduating from the Ohio State University with a B.S. in Marketing in 1993 before signing her first contract fit modeling with a major national retailer in 1996. After a ten consecutive year fit modeling contract, as well as modeling for other companies outside of her contract, she retired to become a mom in 2008. She then came out of retirement in 2016 at the age of 46 to continue fit modeling for the same company at the exact measurements she was in her twenties, not because she was under contract, but because she had developed health and wellness methods that kept her weight from fluctuating. She did this unconsciously as these methods became her norm. These methods and more are what she shares in her book

Paid to Be Perfect: The Secret to Finding Your Perfect. She lives in Columbus, OH with her husband, her son, and her dog.

Experiencing Loss of Self to Experience Love of self. All of our experiences however traumatic they are is the evolution of the soul. C22-14 LisaBeth Thomas “Finding your Power through Loss.”

Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest LisaBeth Thomas, on air from April 5th

“What jazzes me? Helping people discover fears that sabotage their relationships and success and the difference it makes in their lives!”

All of us have fears; some are healthy and some are unhealthy.  Unhealthy fears can keep us trapped in negative behaviors or situations that can lead to anxiety and lack of production and success. In this show, you’ll discover the fear that is subconsciously sabotaging your actions and create a strategy to outwit it.

With over 30 years of experience creating successful advertising and public relations campaigns and as an award-winning producer, LisaBeth “LB” Thomas continues to be regarded as one of the most respected women in her field. Her pathway to success wasn’t always easy. Due to her divorce, she lost her home and her business. She was devastated and didn’t think it could get any worse, but it did – her mom passed away as she was preparing to close on her home. All this destroyed her confidence and belief in herself. Through the struggle, she uncovered the deep-seated fears that were sabotaging her life. Her courage and determination not only turned a spotlight on those fears, but she also turned her tragedies into triumphs. LB inspires others to dig deep to uncover their inner strength and find their power through loss.

A lot can happen in 10 years — just ask LisaBeth Thomas.

A decade ago, Thomas’s career as a film and video producer was in high gear. Her credits included a wide swath of work from movies like “Hope Floats” to TV shows “Real Life with Gerald Mann,” plus commercials like a campaign celebrating the 20th anniversary of Amy’s Ice Creams.

Referrals, such as from GSD&M to produce Anheuser-Busch commercials for the Keep Texas Beautiful recycling campaign, fueled growth that turned her little Austin production company, LBTJ, into a seven-figure agency handling everything from marketing to media buys.

But of her creations, she is most proud of being one of the original five founders of Texas Women in Business, a nonprofit women’s group dedicated to fostering personal and professional growth along with pooling resources to give back to the community through philanthropy. The group celebrates its 10-year anniversary in 2020.

“Sharon has taken her first-hand experience with the daily angst and indignities of motherhood and – instead of eating cupcakes alone in her car – has channeled it into this well-observed and funny book! Her illustrations that juxtapose her comic characters against a real-life background are an apt metaphor for her clever take on what it means to love and let go with a sense of humor… and to get up the next day and do it all over again.” – Eileen Heisler, Executive Producer/Co-Creator of hit TV series, The Middle

“She’s not really miserable. She’s creating her way through the ups and downs of life’s most perplexing assignment – raising humans. Sharon’s book is a sassy, sparkling help list for a mom’s most dreaded job, sending her kid to college. You will laugh, you will wince, you will buy two books so you can cut one up to send pages to your friends.” – Becky Blades, Author of Do Your Laundry or You’ll Die Alone: Advice Your Mom Would Give if She Thought You Were Listening

Miserable Mom: The Do’s and Don’ts of Sending Your Kid to College is fun, lighthearted and brimming with good advice – The perfect gift for any parent navigating this emotional, exciting journey.” – Linda Wolff, Freelance Writer/Syndicated Blogger, CarpoolGoddess.com

Sharon L. Brecher is a mom-blogger, writer, illustrator, wife, and Miserable Mom. Her first book, Miserable Mom: The Do’s and Don’ts of Sending Your Kid to College, calls out the absurdities of this stage of motherhood with a wry sense of humor and a self-deprecating wink to her own place in the emotional merry-go-round. Sharon is a born and bred New Yorker, living in Southern California. She has raised two young adults (one in college and one recently out) and has an MA in Education. Sharon was the Educational Director of Futurekids and spent several years working as a consultant for companies like Disney Interactive and Disney Online, where she created educational content for kids and guides for parents. Upon an emotional return from dropping her oldest off at college for the first time, Sharon needed to process some unfamiliar and vulnerable feelings. With one kid out and one to go, mid-life was upon her. This new phase would require the honesty and humor she always internalized, to process life’s challenges. But this time Sharon needed to share with other moms out loud. So, she sat down at her computer and Miserable Moms was born.
