Raising our gifted Children with Sara Tory and her guests Doris Richardson and Bren Fresh on the Forgotten Children Series, on air from April 23rd
In 2018, Sunflower Farm, a rural haven located in Longmont, Colorado was officially designated as an Educational Demonstration Farm. This prestigious acknowledgement allowed the Sprouthouse Preschool to continue to blossom into everything it was originally intended since founded in 2005. Additionally, the School-Age Program was relaunched. Both programs integrate farm, nature and animals to foster deep curiosity, exploration and play, allowing an endless opportunity for education, profound growth and self-awareness. In 2019, the Camps will be reintroduced as well.
With every kind of farm animal you can imagine, this working farm is also open to the public (please see Public Hours for FarmFest events). We invite you to come to laugh, explore, dream, and play as you and your family enjoy the serene combination of nature, animals and farm life. During your visit, you can feed the goats, sheep and lama, jump from hay bale to hay bale, play in the corn house, playhouse and sandboxes, explore the tree forts, brush the lama, soar down the zip-line, balance on the slackline and peruse the aeroplane. If you feel like working, get involved in any of the Farm chores or a work project that may be going on. Water play is available on hot days and marshmallows are for sale to toast over the bonfire on cooler days. This visit is unlike any other.
YOUR HEART WILL STIR WITH THE UNEXPECTED.
JOIN SARA AND BREN AND DORIS AS THEY SPEAK TO IGNITING THE SPIRITED IMAGINATION OF A CHILD
Bren Frisch is one of the founding co-owners of Sunflower Farm in Longmont, Colorado. She was raised on a farm in Northern Ohio. After a wide array of experiences which included education, business, travel and starting a family, she returned to her rural roots. It was there at Sunflower that facets of her past magically came together—art and design, children, beauty and spirituality. Sunflower Farm has been referred to as “a paradise for one’s soul”. She confirms this: “What a blessed life—to not only walk this dirt but also to be Sunflower’s gatekeeper for this tiny spec of time.”
On May 24, 2018, after fifteen years of community significance, Sunflower Farm was officially designated as an Educational Demonstration Farm, granting children and families access to the property.

My intention is to redefine and expand our current understanding of how one person’s true calling not only affects every facet of their own life but our global/universal communities as well.
As an educator, the solution was clear to me. The energy industry needed to begin focusing their recruiting efforts on renewable energy, as well as connecting with the students earlier at the high school level.
Rising our gifted children and the Forgotten Children series with Sara Troy and her guest Deedra Nichole, on air April 16th
Kingdom Kids Ministry serving the children.
Every child’s desire is to be seen. They need to know someone cares about their struggles and that someone believes in their abilities. Kingdom Kids gives children in our local area a place to discover how to rise above their current situations. A place to experience more and learn how to connect with others. We see each child as a gift from God who is worthy to be loved and protected.
Kingdom Kids mission statement is: To provide a safe place for children to make mistakes and learn from those mistakes with guidance while learning who God is and who he is to them.
The making of Miss Dee started eleven years ago when Deedra Mosley found herself a single mother with two daughters to raise. Suffering from a broken marriage and struggling to find something that would fill her heart with joy it was suggested she become one of the Sunday School leaders at a local church. Eleven years of Sunday School, Children’s Church, Vacation Bible School, and now Kingdom Kids services later Deedra has found her heart’s calling in children’s ministry.
Today she is called Miss Dee by a score of children who are blessed by the outreach she is a part of. With the help of Onas Hanekamp, her soon to be husband, Miss Dee is changing the lives of local children by giving them her time. Each week during the Kingdom Kids program, at the church she and her beloved attend, they minister to the needs of children from diverse backgrounds. Many of these children come from troubled homes, broken families, and are longing for someone to give them a safe place to be seen and heard.
Using art, music, and Bible stories Miss Dee and Mr. Onas share the love of God with the local youth. They help the children find their happy place to carry them through the challenges of the week. The program gives these children a chance to express themselves through arts and crafts, music, and acting out stories from the Bible.
Miss Dee has a unique view of the children she helps instruct. She believes that you get out of the children what you put into them. Going into the classes Miss Dee looks at each child as talented and able to be the best version of themselves. It is her personal belief that every child can learn and that teaching the children to love learning is the most important part of being their leader.
