IG25-43. Ravi Kathuria One with Soul

Ignite Your Heart and Soul with Sara Troy and her guest Ravi Kathuria, on air from October 28th

Master Your Mind and Become One with Your Soul.
We each have the ability to quiet the mind and experience profound bliss.

Happy Soul. Hungry Mind. Is a modern parable that follows a grieving father and a wise colleague as they explore how to find peace amid life’s swirl of family, career, health, and community. Author Ravi Gopaldas Kathuria shows that spirituality isn’t reserved for the religious or the renunciant, it’s a practical inner capability available to everyone, regardless of belief. Through clear analogies (think fish asking, “Where’s the ocean?” while swimming in it), he offers simple, doable practices to quiet the insatiable mind and uncover a steadier, more meaningful life, one focused less about outcomes and more on wholehearted effort.

The book’s core takeaway is that spirituality doesn’t require belief in a higher power—it’s an inner capacity open to believers and atheists alike—and our restless, outcome-chasing minds are what keep us stuck. Peace grows when we shift from fixation on results to steady, present practice, using simple daily techniques—awareness, reflection, and compassionate action—to quiet the noise. In that stillness, purpose isn’t another want of the mind but a lived experience that emerges from within.

YH25-43. Michele Molitor“ Reclaiming Your True Self”

Your Health Is Your Choice with Sara Troy and her guest Michele Molitor, on air from October 28th

I do this work because I’ve lived it. After burning out in a high-pressure career that demanded perfection, I saw firsthand how self-doubt, people-pleasing, and anxiety can quietly erode even the most capable among us. I became obsessed with understanding how we can break those cycles — not just cope, but truly heal. Today, I help others do the same: to release the patterns that no longer serve them, reconnect with their worth, and lead with calm, clarity, and confidence. Because when we stop performing and start aligning with who we really are — that’s where real power lives.

I started my career in the fast-paced world of high tech, climbing the ladder as a creative director in Silicon Valley. From the outside, everything looked shiny — but on the inside, I was unraveling. After being bullied out of my role, I was left reeling with a massive case of imposter syndrome and a painful question: Who am I without the title?

That question became the turning point.

It launched a decades-long journey of healing, self-inquiry, and transformation. I dove deep into neuroscience, coaching, hypnotherapy, and the psychology of human behavior — not just to help others, but to first rebuild myself from the inside out.

Today, I’m not just a coach or a therapist. I’m a guide. A fellow traveler. A woman who knows what it feels like to lose herself to burnout — and to find a way back to clarity, purpose, and power.

Behind the credentials, I’m someone who loves nature, animals, books, quiet mornings with a cuppa tea, deep conversations, and helping people remember who they truly are when the masks come off.

25-42. The Waiting Game

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from October 21st

The waiting game is a tender teacher. We can’t rush a bloom; we seed with intention, water with care, and trust the universe for timing. I’m living that trust now—phone beside me, heart on tenterhooks—waiting for my 3rd grandson to arrive. That same rhythm guides my work: I used to sprint like the hare, chasing visions faster than steps could hold. Now I’m a wiser plodder, listening, connecting, planting what matters and letting growth be earned. The journey, not the finish line, is where the meaning lives. I interview those who lead with heart, who turn knowingness into service, because why we do a thing is the root of everything it becomes.

Real abundance isn’t in the noise of “six figures”; it’s in the quiet change we spark in one life, then another. When soul-wisdom downloads, it stirs the heart, and the spirit carries it to the mind to shape with clarity. We watch for the signs, pivot when paths get rocky, and choose companions, human and divine, who steady our steps. Some dreams, like Our Forgotten Children’s book, take years to ripen; others arrive as invitations to speak, write, and share. Either way, we move by core truth: listen, learn, apply. Let go of old expectations, return to your essence, and let that inner compass lead. I’m 71, grateful, healing, wholeness, and still planting. And just as a new child is about to draw first breath, we, too, can give birth to ourselves again, rooted, ready, and quietly radiant for what’s next.

BB25-41. Norm Wolf, Not Just Numbers

Building your business with Sara Troy and her guest Norm Wolf, on air from Ocvtober 14th

I am Norm Wolf. I have a passion for business.  I started my business life at the age of 10 years old when I would sit in front of my grandfather’s confectionery in front of the Stampede Grounds in Calgary selling pop to people walking to and from the Stampede.

At New Heights Accounting, we believe that a “one size fits all” solution is not good for all of our clients.  Depending on YOUR situation, your accounting requirements are going to be different than those of other people.  We will take the time to tailor a program to fit your accounting needs and budget. We will not do more than that you actually require.  If the only requirement is to produce your tax return (be it a personal or corporation) then that is what we will do; why pay for a set of Financial Statements if you will not use them?

My Wife and I were accountants in Calgary, it was getting time close to when I was considering retirement and wanted a change of place.  My wife was not ready for the retirement life and wanted to open her own accounting firm.  We decided to move west to BC, and we wanted to near a large body of water.  The first location on our list was the Okanagan, but my wife hated the area as it was too much desert.  The next location was Vancouver but that’s way too expensive for us, the next area was Vancouver Island.  She wanted Victoria and I didn’t want to move to an area where there was a lot of traffic, and she wanted someplace with a good hospital and transportation.  Since I had been to the Island many times, we finally settled on Nanaimo.  Without any public practice management experience, we opened our public accounting firm, but with my 45 plus years of experience in business and with my Master’s degree in Business and Anna’s CPA we opened our firm with a theme of “we want to partner in our client’s success, which is the driving force behind our firm.

One of the main themes that I use in my business life is “Accounting is more than just the numbers, it is the people behind the numbers.”

25-41. Thanks for the Wishes

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from October 14th

Well, I’ve just come off a wonderful Monday–Tuesday weekend that really began on Sunday. My daughter came over from the mainland to Vancouver Island, where we both live, and we shared a lovely evening together. I made vegan bobotie—a Malaysian-inspired South African dish—and we savored every bite. The next day, my son and his wife arrived, and we surprised my daughter with an impromptu baby shower. Her dear friend joined us, and we pampered her with a face mask, a hand and foot massage, and even I got a foot massage, since it was my birthday! The evening flowed into laughter, feasting, and the simple joy of being together.

The following day, my daughter and friend headed home while the rest of us took the little ones to the park. Later, we enjoyed another delicious meal and gathered around a campfire, watching my two-and-a-half-year-old grandson delight in the flames. It was the perfect ending to a birthday weekend filled with love, warmth, and gratitude. We celebrated my birthday on October 6th, my daughter’s baby shower—she’s due any day now—and my son’s upcoming birthday at the end of the month. We even tried to squeeze in Thanksgiving!

Moments like these remind me that the greatest gift of all is family. Though my children live busy lives—one in Vancouver, one in Maple Ridge, and one here on the island—it was such a gift to have everyone under one roof. My son cooked up a storm: lasagna, shepherd’s pie, a hearty mushroom soup, and a batch of freezer meals for his sister as she prepares for the new baby. I came home with leftovers myself, all made with love.

I know not everyone has the opportunity to be close to family, and that makes me even more grateful. We shared stories, laughter, and memories, cherishing every moment. Add to that the nearly 300 birthday wishes I received from my online community—thank you all for the love! My heart is full.

Turning 71 feels like an honor. I’m well into my seventies now, and I see this as a season to keep creating, learning, and giving. I plan to release Our Forgotten Children as an audiobook before Christmas, continue hosting incredible guests, and, of course, welcome my new grandson into the world. Perhaps a little puppy will join my life in the new year too.

I believe birthdays are sacred reminders that life itself is a gift. Each new year invites us to plant seeds, nourish the day, and live in gratitude. We never know how many days we have, but we can choose to make each one meaningful. Share your wisdom, volunteer, create, and bring your light to others—the return will be tenfold.

So here’s to another year of life, love, and purpose. Thank you to everyone who made my birthday so special. By the time you hear this, I hope I’ll be holding my new grandson in my arms. Until then, remember to listen, learn, and apply, for wisdom is always ready to blossom when you are.
