I have been denied many times in my life of being a person from a second Class country which is Iraq. When Saddam Huseyn attacked my city Halabja with chemical weapons, unfortunately, no one came to rescue us from him because he was allied. Then when he became an enemy, they killed him!…despite those horrible things, I didn’t let the anger and hatred to control my heart, but instead I tried to teach them the lesson of life about how we should bring peace and love for each other, not war and hatred. I tried to study in a European country and I achieved. Now I am closer to the people whom I should inspire them with my broken feelings. I always thought that I want to take what I experienced in Europe back to my country, I will serve my country and educate people…
I am a young person in which my father decided himself to send me to private school after graduation, I can speak 4 languages. I have finished my undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering field in Iraq. Now I am studying MSc. Degree at Warsaw University of technology in Environmental Engineering. I live in Warsaw-Poland. I love being busy with academic stuff like conferences and panels. I love football and I am a fan of Barcelona & Argentina. When I was a student at my previous university, I published a video tutorial which prepared by me about Civil 3D software program. I am an active person. I like presenting seminars. I have presented many seminars about the Environmental situation of my country at my Current University. As a person which the carrier of his life will be in an Environmental field, I feel that it’s my duty to save our only planet from the climate change disaster. I’m really worried about the next generation. Simply I would like to secure the life of the children that would be my sons/daughters. From my MSc. Courses, we have a special course named as Global Climate Change. From that lecture, I realized that we need to work hard and give big notes about this issue. I want to raise social consciousness at least in my country. That’s why I decided & promised myself to be an active member of Climate Reality family.
I am also working in recycling and managing wastes. So I know very well how to manage the wastes of people and how people can be managed to be more mindful.

My family and I started the Choose Joy Foundation in honor of my Sister, Sara Frankl, who passed away in September of 2011 at the age of 38 years old. As a young women, Sara was diagnosed with a disease that left her in constant pain and confined to her home. Sara blogged about her life journey with pain, sickness, loss and through it all, joy. Through Sara’s life journey, God was the only source to finding love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control. These fruits of the spirit in times of pain are lost, unless we surrender to Him.

Laura is the second oldest of six children, raised on a farm in Northwest Iowa. After high School, Laura attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, IA, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Currently, Laura is a certified business coach with ActionCOACH – Siouxland. She is also a certified speaker, coach, and teacher with the John Maxwell team.
In 2011 after losing her dad and sister, Laura found herself called to continue her sister Sara’s spirit lead discipleship of Choose Joy.
After walking a path through the publishing industry, Laura and her family were blessed in 2016 with the release of Sara’s book, co-authored by Mary Carver, Choose Joy: Finding Hope and Purpose When Life Hurts. The book is based on Sara’s writings about her journey to discover joy.
Since the book release, Laura has also published a Choose Joy study guide and DVD to accompany the book.
I addition to sharing Sara’s legacy of choosing, Laura shares her own life’s journey with loss, divorce and breast cancer. It is during our hardest times that we experience our greatest growth if we choose to surrender ourselves to God and trust in His will.
Laura is President of the Choose Joy: Sara Gitz Frankl Memorial Foundation. All proceeds from book sales go to the foundation.

Dave says”I had been a Communications Specialist for many years. Employed by the Federal Govt. I attended work, in Feb. 1997, as though it were a normal workday. Around 1:00 in the afternoon, I bent down to lift some equipment from it’s housing. I heard and felt my own lower back “snap”, as did those within hearing range of me. Life was going to be radically different from that day forward. I was 42 years old and had my best earning years ahead of me. I would never attend a concert, graduation ceremony, sporting event or drive a vehicle without the influence of pain meds or severe pain for the next 20 years. In 2017 my Orthopedic Surgeon suggested an electronic device that might kill the ever present pain I had experienced every morning when I woke up since the accident.”

I almost laughed at her suggestion but was willing to try anything as anything was better than the pain prescriptions I had ingested for so long. Stim Wave had recently developed a Spine Stimulator and my Doctor thought it could help. In 9/15/2017, she surgically installed it in my back. It worked; the pain was all but gone. I had found an alternative to the meds. That’s when the real work began. Repairing and re-booting the effects of 20 years of pain medications. To term it politely, drugs like this “twist the instincts” and repairing them is job that will take the rest of my life. “Cartwheels in the Parking Lot” tells the story beginning with the injury, continuing through the medical hoops and foolishness and finally concluding with the discharge and withdraw of the pills. It’s a story anyone who has had their lives affected by drugs should read.
