20-05 Our Choices Direct Us Good or Bad

Sara Troy on Sara’s View Of Life on air from January 28th

We are our choices good or bad, we are our reactions, good or bad, how do we not react to negativeness around us how do we stay cool calm and collected? it is a choice.

We are made up of our choices in life, even the ones we did not choose for our selves, for it is a choice in how we react to them. I know it can be hard when someone is on the attack to not respond, but choosing not to respond gives you control and takes it away from them.

So how do we stay calm during an alteration? we breathe deeply in and release out, we breathe until we feel centered, we breathe until the person has stopped, then we calming say, where you addressing me? sorry I tuned out. We do not feed the alteration by a fist verbal, because that will take it over the top, but if they feel they have not got the upper hand and you have made the choice not to respond back, they generally back off.

This week I speak to our choices and in how we need to be mindful, heartful and make choices in our life that serves us so we can serve others., and how to face conflict and not buy into it.

19-43 Sara’s UK experience

I had a wonderful trip to the UK to see my brother and sister to celebrate our coming of years. As time is passing us by so fast, getting together is a gift as one nevers knows what tomorrow holds, we are 65, 70 and 78, and living in the now is key.

We did so much, lots of walking, dining, shopping, seeing exhibits, movies, and more, it was a full trip.

First was having a wonderful lunch with my cousins, hosted by my cousin Cathrine whom I had not seen in 44 years, she and her husband Darius Rubeck (Dave Rubeck’s sons and also a musician, (who I interviewed here) bought us a fabulous lunch at a 1400 century pub in Rye, my sister Jane was there and my cousin Bridgette and Susie.

My sister and I went to see the Mary Quant exhibit a designer from the ’60s who changed fashion completely, then on to a fabulous meal at The Builders Arms in Chelsie, beautiful trout done in a chili sauce.

My brother and I went back to his new home in Grimsby and had a week of walks, good food and relaxation. I read his new book in the works called “We feel your pain so you don’t have to” it will make a great movie. MORE ON SAMS WORK HERE.

We went to so many great restaurants, like the Doggie cafe where you and your dog can dine, a Vegan cafe in Louth wonderful scones all vegan, fish cakes at Willies pub in Cleethorpes, and a lovely lunch in an old school room in Horncastle.

We went back to London to have my last few days together, We went to the Borough Market and had the most fantastic Paella, the market is filled with wonderful spices, loaves of bread, cheeses, lunch delights and it was great.

We went by St Francis Drakes ship and saw the tallest building in London. It was a beautiful warm day as was most of them while there. Life was buzzing and people buying as was I, and London is in a constant state of building.

The Strand and other wonderful buildings.

My sister and I went to see the Downton Abby movie and loved it, it was so much fun. My brother and I went to see Ad Astra, the Brad Pitt movie, a nice story building movie that did not rely on all action.

Our birthday dinner was at an Italian restaurant in Beckenham, I had mussels, cannelloni, and cream caramel and throughout this trip, I have had wonderful wine.

I am very grateful to them and my kids who made it possible for me to go to the UK and see family, a wonderful trip and so good to be with relatives again.

One thing I could have done without is Brexit, my sister is very involved in it and it got intense, I did a show while there on politics. You Can find that here.

19-42 Becoming a Senior at 65

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on-air October 15th

October 6th I turned 65 years old and now I am officially a senior.

Growing older does not worry me, as I have lost so many way too young, aging is a gift and a gift we need to embrace and put to good use.

There are some perks to becoming a senior, free ferry ride between Vancouver Island and the Mainland, cheap annual bus pass. Senior discount days in most places, so some benefits.

Age is a gift on wisdom if you have taken you Self Discovery of who you are and what your purpose is here n earth. That journey can be done at any age, and one would hope by 65 has been done, but it is never too late to explore ourselves from the inside out.

I feel blessed to be this age, I still have a lot to do in life but now I know to pace my self, listen in and do what needs to be done when I can and not when someone else demands it. My journey to inner wisdom has been taking place since 1994, am I here yet? no, because there are always things to learn about one’s self and our journeys in life. It is not over until this body expires, then our soul and spirit takes what we have learnt forward to the next life.

So do not be afraid of ageing, or going grey/silver, don’t hide the wrinkles, or the drooping boobs and gut, it is who we are now, we are not meant to look like a 20-year-old.

Age gracefully, no you do not have to let your self go, there still is self-dignity, but don’t sweat what age is doing to us, go with the flow. We can aid our selves with a good healthy lifestyle, our eating habits, moderate drinking, not smoking, exercising, living with an abundant attitude to life in mind body and spirit. We can participate in activities that fuel us and share our wisdom with those who are learning about life.

There is so much to do at this age, so many like my self are still working, some of us have too, so choose to, some have embraced all-new careers. Some have taken up hobbies that keep them busy, but do not sit around feeling sorry for your self, for life is about living and loving life.

So do not run from your age, do not try to be an age your not. Be healthy, young in spirit, be positive, be productive, but embrace your age even though it is just a number, it is also your body’s clock winding down but still a long way to go.

19-36 Sara’s Pearls of Wisdom….Time Use

Time, we all live on the same clock, 60 mins in an hour, 24 hours to a day, 7 days a week 4 weeks to a month and 12 months to a year. How we use that time changes according to demands on your life, experiences, and time management.

Even though we have devices that work for us and that are supposed to make life easier for us, we all still to be fighting the clock. There never it seems to be enough time, yet we should be able to have more time on our hands because of technology.

Are we expecting too much of ourselves and not managing our time well enough and not dividing our time where we can dedicate time for us, for work, family and time to give away.

Time for YOU is a must, for if you are burnt out, struggling to meet deadlines or expectations you and your health will suffer. Taking some time daily even if it means leaving something else out is imperative to your well beingness. Be it a walk amongst nature, physical activities, meditation, music art whatever centers your self, make time to do it. For if you don’t you will be no good for anything else.

Learning to say no so you do not have the overwhelming demands on you is ok too. It is not the quantity of time but the quality of time in all your areas of life that really count. 8 hours at work being dysfunction, aids no one, being there because you’re ready intuned and focused on your work and is where we want you to be, serves all.

The family does not need you on your phone, of bringing work home, they want you so make sure you designate time for only them. Spouses want alone time with you, so delegate time for only the two of you for some quality time.

One of the most beautiful gifts you can give anyone is your TIME, free time, no money involved but time because you want to be there for them.

Volunteering in any way, giving of your time to enhance the life or lives of others is divine and one of the greatest gifts you can give. The investment of time you give seeds and helps grow so many possibilities for others and feeds your heart and soul that nothing other than this could serve you so well.

So take a good look at your time and ask your self, are you spending it well, wisely, and where all benefit from it especially you?

19–28 Entitlement versus Gratitude

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy

Entitlement, a belief that you are owed more than anyone else and the fact you do not care who suffers because of it.

Are we entitled to live a happy productive life? Yes, we are, if we are willing to work for it. We can have all the abundance in the world if we are willing to work for it. We can be enriched and prosperous if we are willing to pay our dues along the way. BUT, we are not entitled to have what we want when we want it just because we want it, especially if it comes at the expense of the planet and people.

Opulence and entitlement are incredibly dangerous in the hands of those with no heart, no soul connection, and no consciousness, for as long as they have, they don’t care who suffers for it.

We have seen so much evidence of this through history, and now thanks to CNN and Twitter and all media sensationalism we are seeing even more opulent behaviour than ever before. Over the last 30 + years the media advertising has made zombies out of us and sold us a bag of rubbish that more is more, and if you don’t have more, you are worth nothing.

This push to consumerism is not only killing our planet but has killed our morality, empathy, respect, consideration, and heart, for we have been taught that you need things and status to define your value, your self worth and this has caused a deep disconnect within our hearts, souls, spirits and has polluted our minds.

ENTITLEMENT needs to be made obsolete, and Gratitude NEEDS TO BE INSTILLED in our daily lives.

Over the last few decades with my counseling and podcast interviewing, I have come across so many empty people who feel heart, spirit, and purpose conscious poor. They rode this wave of more is more and at the end of it found they were not only financially poor but spiritually and heart poor too. Most people had to deal with some sort of illness and debt and a disconnect from the loved ones as communication had been lost due to this divide. All of them felt sick and empty and devoid of any joy in their lives, more like they had become slaves to the need to be and have MORE.

Their journeys back to heart, back to spirit and stepping into a more meaningful purposeful life, has given them an abundance that no exterior purchasing every did. They became ENRICHED by becoming of service to others which ignition of GRATITUDE in deeply meaningful ways.

EGO = ENTITLEMENT

Our EGOS, when ignited out of proportion, can make people feel superior and more ENTITLED than others, a false illusionment and one that can cause an incredible amount of harm to the egotistic and those in their path. EGO can become narcissistic which = Entitlement but is derived by a deep sense of insecurity within the entitled person.

This entitlement is not just on consumerism or a sense of superiority, but on race and religion too. We see people of a so-called faith dictating who is worth God’s love and who is unworthy. That is not a job for mankind by that only of the spirit of God.

We see MAN demean and abuse women because they think they are a superior race, again not God’s message. We see people condemned by the colour of their skin and treated as less than, again not God’s message. We see the poor made poorer to keep them in place as servants to the rich, not God’s work. We see opulent people using other people for their own gain and believe that they are entitled because they are richer, because of their status and superiority, and believe that is power, again not God or anyone else’s message.

The need for Power, Greed, Superiority, over others is a dis-ease that has damaging consequences to all.

YOU HAVE TO DESERVE WHAT YOU HAVE AND BE GRATEFUL FOR THE BLESSING.

Our purpose here on Earth is in Self Discovery of our gift that we share in service with our communities.

Only with the willingness to go through life and face our challenges and become stronger, more courageous and empowered by the experience can we become that beautiful instrument that serves the Orchestra of Life.

So let us look at ENTITLEMENT in our own lives and question if that attitude warrants being there, for being humble and grateful for this incredible planet that provides us all we need, by being a participant in all areas of life, by sharing, giving, and creating opportunities do we then truly understand why we are here.

When you step into Love and Gratitude and understand that the struggles are just a self-exploration of our meaningful purpose here, then you will know that everything you are and everything you have you deserve because you journeyed for it and you are grateful for the experience.
