Sara’s View Of Life with Sara Troy, on air from August 19th
Do you remember that wonderful song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFarlane? Oh, we need that song right now, don’t we? There’s a lot happening in the world right now, and so how do we find our happiness? How do we stop worrying? Sometimes we just have to step away from it all. Ignore it, not pretending it’s not there, but for a moment, putting a bubble around yourself and choosing to have happiness, to bring joy to others, and to be joyful in your own life. Sometimes that is exactly what we need. And it’s okay to say, “I just can’t deal with anything else today; I’m going to be happy.” What do you do to make yourself happy? Music is a wonderful thing, put on the right tunes, your body starts to move, your inner equilibrium begins to balance, and it lifts you up.

“Welcome to Sara’s View of Life. Today, we’re looking through the lens—literally and metaphorically. In a world of filters and flawless edits, what does the camera really see? Can an image still hold truth, or have we retouched it away? Join me as I reflect on vulnerability, authenticity, and the soulful power of being seen—as you truly are.”
They say the camera doesn’t lie—but in today’s world of filters, retouching, and digital tweaks, what are we really looking at? A photograph can reveal truth, or it can veil it entirely. Is it a window into the soul… or just a curated illusion?
Can we still see someone’s essence in an image? Do their eyes tell a story, or have we learned to mask even that? Is the smile genuine—or just muscle memory? Do they smile with their whole face, or just enough to pass as “happy”?
Recently, I faced my own camera moment with the wonderful Barbara Anne in Nanaimo. I’ll admit it—I was nervous. I can interview anyone, anywhere, but being in front of the lens felt like exposure on a different level. Barbara, however, made it joyful. She captured my seriousness, my playfulness, and, most importantly, my truth.
This week, we explore what the camera really sees—and whether it still has the power to reveal who we truly are.
You want your headshot—your photo—to represent you. Not just your features, but your spirit, your story, your essence. When someone sees that image, they should feel a quiet familiarity, as if they already know a piece of who you are. A great photo invites connection. It whispers, “This is me. This is what I bring.” So when people finally meet you face-to-face, there’s no disconnect—only confirmation of what they already sensed in your image: authenticity, warmth, and truth.
But when a photo is overly altered—when it masks the lines of laughter, softens the eyes too much, or reshapes features into something unrecognizable—it creates a disconnect. Instead of building trust, it builds a wall. The viewer might admire the image, but they’re not meeting you. And when they do meet you in person, something feels off. The soul they felt drawn to in the photo isn’t fully present—because the photo wasn’t fully true.
We all want to look our best, and a little polish is perfectly fine. But let’s not trade away authenticity for perfection. Let your photo reflect the real you—the journey in your eyes, the warmth in your smile, the light in your spirit. That’s what draws people in. That’s what creates a real connection.
So here’s what I’ve come to realize—your image isn’t just about how you look; it’s about how you feel in your own skin. It’s about being seen as you truly are, not as who you think the world wants to see. That’s the real magic.
When we show up authentically—wrinkles, wisdom, laugh lines, and all—we give others permission to do the same. We become mirrors of truth, not illusions of perfection. So the next time you step in front of a camera, bring your whole self. Let your eyes speak your journey. Let your smile carry your light.
Because what the camera sees should be what the world feels: you—honest, beautiful, and unapologetically real.

“Be the voice that uplifts common sense. Be the truth-teller who won’t stay silent. Be the spark that grows truth into action—and shifts the tide away from tyranny.”
One by one, we’re witnessing the quiet removal of those with true intelligence—whether in government, media, science, or creative thought. It’s a glaring sign: those in power are running scared. Scared of truth, scared of intellect, scared of minds that question, probe, and pierce through propaganda. They want obedience, not brilliance. Control, not clarity. Silence, not solutions.
We’ve seen this before. History has echoed this pattern countless times. The brightest minds are pushed aside, ridiculed, or erased. For a while, the illusion holds. The noise distracts, the lies comfort, and the stage remains lit—but eventually, the structure rots from within. The low-vibrational minds that hijacked power cannot solve the problems they’ve created. And slowly, inevitably, things begin to unravel.
That’s when the thinkers return. The visionaries. The creators. The healers and the systems-shifters. They’ve never truly left—they’ve just gone underground. Working in whispers, in community circles, in quiet spaces of resistance and rebuilding. And it’s there, beneath the surface, that the true revolution brews—not with swords, but with soul. Not with noise, but with knowing.
So how do we protect them? We honor their voice, even when it’s inconvenient. We share their work, even if it challenges the norm. We fund them, even with a dollar or a warm meal, because true brilliance often walks a humble path. We gather, in heart-centered spaces, to create networks of trust, care, and collaboration. And we educate—not with dogma, but with curiosity, awakening minds before fear has a chance to seduce them.
From the underground up, we create a web of light—anchored in truth, driven by service, and powered by love. Bit by bit, it grows. It moves through communities, across borders, beyond barriers. And when the old systems fall—and they will—this web will rise, ready to lead, ready to rebuild.
Let them fear the thinkers. Because it is the thinkers, the feelers, the grounded dreamers, who will light the way forward, not for domination, but for restoration. In a world where wisdom is not silenced, but shared. Where intelligence is not feared, but cherished. And where every soul is invited to rise into the brilliance they were born to become.
Be the Voice of Common Sense. Be the one who stands steady in a world swirling with noise—who lifts the voices rooted in wisdom, clarity, and calm.
Be the Truth-Teller. Speak the truth grounded in fact and reason, even when it’s inconvenient, even when it shakes the room.
Be the Firestarter of Change. Find new ways to grow truth into action—into movements, into choices, into waves that shift the tide and dismantle the grip of tyranny.

We’re living in a time where the world feels sharply divided, black or white, right or wrong with very little space for nuance or warmth. The gray zone in between has become a fog of confusion and disillusionment, often muting our spirit. But where is the colour? Where is the warmth, the joy, the life? If we stay trapped in this monochrome mindset, we lose touch with the vibrancy of being. It’s essential that we bring colour back, into our conversations, our actions, our hearts. That means choosing joy, consciously. Whether it’s by dancing to music that lifts you, wrapping yourself in a scarf of bright hues, laughing with your grandkids, or simply stepping away from the heaviness and into a space that nurtures your soul.
Yes, we must care, we must be informed, and we must stand up where we can—but not at the cost of our own light. We cannot pour from an empty cup. We need to refill with beauty, laughter, and love. Wear color. Dance with scarves. Watch a movie. Read a book that takes you away. Sit in nature and let the trees speak to your spirit. Join the chorus of change, but let it be fueled by joy and not just anger. Be that vibrant note in the world’s orchestra. Because being colourful in a black and white world isn’t frivolous—it’s revolutionary.
We are the artists of our own lives. When we choose to add brushstrokes of compassion, tones of hope, and bursts of courage, we not only brighten our own path, we become a living mural for others to follow. In a world drowning in noise and judgment, your colour, your joy, and your radiant authenticity become an act of sacred defiance. So take up space, wear your truth, and let your spirit shine. It’s time to colour outside the lines and remind the world that life was never meant to be lived in grayscale.

?? Welcome to the Conscious Rebellionwith Sara Troy
We are standing at a crossroads in human history—not just politically, but spiritually, emotionally, and consciously. This is a time of choice. A time of reckoning. A time to rise with soul-led intention.
This is not just rebellion, it is a conscious rebellion. A revolution of the awakened. We are no longer asleep to the pain of others, blind to injustice, or silent in the face of cruelty. We have been shaken. And now we must awaken. Not with fists in the air, but with our hearts wide open and our spirits grounded in truth.
No matter who you are or where you come from, ask yourself: Do I lead with compassion? Do I stand for kindness? Do I seek understanding? Because it starts with self-love—real, honest, grounded self-love. When we love ourselves, we cannot stand by and watch others be dehumanized, dictated to, or destroyed.
We don’t need more hate. We don’t need more violence. We need more self-love This isn’t about politics, it’s about people. It’s about holding those in power accountable, not with rage, but with a radiant resolve. Not with pitchforks, but with purpose.
There are systems built on greed, division, and fear, and yes, they’re trying to pull us back into darkness. But we, the conscious, the aware, the soulful, are the light they cannot dim.
We rise through community, through truth, through love in action. We hold the line for justice. We lift those who are being trampled. We show up, not because we are told to, but because we know we must.
Let us no longer turn a blind eye, for the moment we ignore another’s suffering is the moment we give away our power. You don’t have to save the world alone; just help one person rise. And if each of us does that, the ripple becomes a wave. A conscious wave. A soulful uprising. A global remembrance of what it means to be human.
So find your place, whether you’re the harmony or the melody, the drumbeat or the stillness between the notes, this orchestra of awakening needs you. Speak. Share. Support. Stand.
Let us rise together with compassion as our rebellion, and love as our revolution. The time is now. The moment is yours.
This is the Conscious Rebellion. Let’s lead it with soul.
