“Turning Poison into Medicine” – We all play roles in our lives. Some are joyous, others, burn our souls to dust. When external circumstances verge on torturous, we often lose all hope and are often forced to go inward to develop new perspectives to avoid the alternative, suicide. Writing became an outlet during one of the most turbulent times in my life and it created the therapy, clarity, and resolution I needed to emerge out of the burning forest with some skin. By utilizing Taoist detachment, losing my history and being brutally honest with myself I created a series of daily exercises that not only maintained my sanity but systemically rebuilt the personal power that had been obliterated over years of abuse.

Born and raised in New York City I was fiercely independent and totally immersed in the world of classical ballet. The arts saved me as I was institutionalized as a youth. After accomplishing my BFA, I was a globe-trotting dancer, choreographer, director and teacher living “La Vida Loca”. I became pregnant, moved to Miami and founded a non-profit arts and cultural agency which thrived for twenty years as well as nurturing thousands in the realms of the traditional Chinese arts and Buddhist dogma. This self-absorbed artist became the mother to many giving myself away until there was nothing left for me. This new persona as an author has allowed me to reclaim myself and use all the years of wisdom gained for the sake of others for my own growth and self-love. Now, as is my nature, I return the lessons to all those ready, willing and able to confront and breakthrough their egos to finally “be” what they originally were before all the conditioned fear and false living set in.

Jay Westbrook, MS, RN is a multiple award-winning clinician, author, speaker, and Visiting Faculty Scholar at Harvard Medical School’s Palliative Care Department.

He has worked bedside with the dying & the grieving for over 30 years, is nationally recognized as an expert on the constellation of issues surrounding End-of-Life, and is highly skilled in working with the spiritual, emotional, & physical suffering of people approaching the end of their lives, and their grieving families and caregivers.

He has also served as Senior Grief & Loss Counselor for multiple Southern California treatment centers, assisting in breaking the pattern of grief-related substance abuse and relapse.

He is Clinical Director of Compassionate Journey, an End-of-Life Clinical and Education Service, and lectures nationally at both the keynote and breakout levels.

Politics politics, normally I stay away from it, but I am in the UK and every hour every show is on Brexit, to leave or stay in the EU. It is causing such a divide and so much mudslinging, that a party NO one wants in is worming the way in because everyone else is concentrating on hanging Borris Johnson even at the cost of their own country, it is mindblowing.

Every day we see more and more ridiculous news on our global politicians, thigh gate, Borris apparently touch a womans thigh 20 years ago but it has taken 20 years for her to come forward to complain, just at the time the opposition are gunning for Borris to be out because they want to stop Brexit. How low can they keep on going?

Hong Kong and China at odds with each other over human rights, but looking at China’s army will they ever get those rights? Russia is worming their way in America politics and taking over other countries, are we are the brink of another war? and if we are which candidate would be the best to face these troubled times with a clear head?

Then in Canada my home, you have the blackface Trudeau being slandered on every media to shame him out of office, I will not be swayed by mudslingers, the more you mudsling the more I stand my ground and will not be swayed by such behaviour. Look at what each candidate is doing or wants to do to serve your country and ask your self, does it serve the whole or only a few? Then decide if in the long term everyone benefits.

Of cause, you have the USA, for the last 3 years, it has been entirely about Trump, this Tweet, that Tweet, firing people left right and centre and lying over and over again. Now we are looking at Impeachment and an upcoming election next year and with so many democrats, how does one decide?

Outcomes the mudslinging, the putdowns, the destroy attitude at any cost including their integrity, it does not build confidence in the people just hysteria.

Trump as a president has been a joke scary one at that, he has been found to be a criminal and lowlife that has the world all shook up not knowing what he will do next because of his instability. We need someone with integrity, gumption and common sense in the White House to make America great again WHO WILL UNIT NOT ONLY THEIR COUNTRY BUT THE WORLD.

So get out and vote, but first read, listen, ask questions and deduce who will be the better person in power that will truly serve your country.

Duane D. Stjernholm was born in La Junta, Colorado, a small town in the southeastern corner of the state where he learned Farming and Ranching from his Grandfathers. Raised in nearby Cheraw, an even smaller town, he graduated Co-Valedictorian from Cheraw High School and continued his education at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, earning a B.S. Degree in Psychology. Seeking to explore the world in search of adventure, he joined the Peace Corps and spent two years in the Philippines working in Rice Irrigation Water Management in the Province of Pampanga, and subsequently teaching Introductory Social Sciences at the University of the Philippines at Los Baños, Laguna.
Recovering from “Reverse Culture Shock” upon his return to Colorado, he attended the Iliff School of Theology in Denver earning a Master of Arts in Religion Degree, specializing in Religious Philosophy and Metaphysics. Soon after graduation from Iliff, he was fortunate to attend a live speech by the renowned World Citizen and Inventor, R. Buckmaster Fuller, who inspired him on his current 35 year Mission of changing the prevalent mindset of humanity from competition to cooperation and collaboration in order to Co-Create the Greatest and Highest Good for all Earth Citizens. To that end, he founded the unprecedented Member organization, the United Earth Ecclesia.
To support and further his Mission he has worked in a number of hospitality and service-oriented positions culminating in his last positions as Production Administrator at the nationwide non-profit, Learning Ally (formerly Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic). He has published two books and launched United Earth Ecclesia website, ExLo.org, dedicated to the Co-Creation of the Greatest and Highest Good for all Earth Citizens. (RETURNING SOON)
Returning to La Junta after a 40-year absence to be closer to relatives and out of the big city, Duane saw a need for Agricultural Hemp processing facilities in the Arkansas Valley and beyond for the rapidly expanding hemp industry in Colorado. He responded to the “find a need and fill it” adage, and as a result, he and his Co-Founder have established the Colorado Hemp Processing Cooperative (COHPC.ORG) to fill that need and Further the Mission of Cooperation, not competition.

What messages did we get in childhood about our own value and what voices do we have in our head as adults now? It’s a chance for parents who really want to be intentional in their parenting no matter the age of their children or grandchildren, to be present and fully supportive of their expression of brilliance. It is a conversation to address patterns of sabotage that prevent us from actually achieving what we say we want in our relationships, health, career or finances because of a deep-down belief that we don’t deserve true happiness.
