AK23-9. Anika Savoy, and New York City Lunatic Asylum

Authors Kiss with Sara Troy and her guest Anika Savoy, on air from February 28th

Explore the history of the New York City Lunatic Asylum Award-winning, paranormal, historical romance author Anika Savoy

Life is hard enough without having to deal with ghosts following you around every day. Maggie O’Connor wishes that she did not have psychic gifts but coming from a long line of Irish female seers, she never had a choice. Faced with having to care for her departed sister’s orphaned baby, Maggie struggles to pay the rent while working for pennies at a local Bowery sweatshop. Her life goes from bad to worse when a wicked neighbor steals the baby.
Things look up when the handsome son of Maggie’s employer falls for her. Gershom understands that having psychic gifts does not necessarily make a woman crazy. If only the local judge agreed. When Maggie ends up at the New York City Lunatic Asylum on Blackwell’s Island, she must find a way to escape and return to Gershom’s loving arms.
Will Maggie be stuck in a madhouse forever? Even if she escapes, can she and Gershom rescue the lost baby? The obstacles seem insurmountable, but anything is possible with the assistance of ghostly helpers and Andrew Carnegie, one of America’s richest men.

Anika Savoy is an award-winning author and attorney who has always felt a supernatural pull. A healthy skeptic, she can’t deny her near-death experience and the shift it made in her life and writing. She attended McGill University and graduated with distinction in 1988 with a B.A. in English Literature. While at McGill, she won several creative writing contests. Thereafter, she wrote three historical romance novels. In 1998, Anika changed course and pursued her lifelong dream of becoming an attorney. She graduated from University of Cincinnati, College of Law with Dean’s Honors in 2001 and practiced law for almost 20 years. Now, Anika returns to her first love: writing historical romance. She endeavors to add paranormal elements that take readers into a fairy tale universe where ghosts and witches exist, and happy endings abound.

The Ghost In Her is the first in Anika Savoy’s Ungilded Series.

His Garden: Conversations with a Serial Killer

A lawyer gets inside the mind of a notorious New England serial killer in this award-winning and “grimly compelling” true crime (Kirkus).

For nine months of 2003, William Devin Howell went on a killing spree in and around New Britain, Connecticut. Seven people went missing; all of their bodies were eventually discovered in a wooded lot behind a strip mall. But the investigation that led to Howell’s arrest is only part of the story.

Attorney and author Anne K. Howard aka Anika Savoy, first contacted Howell while he was serving a fifteen-year sentence for one of his murders. He was about to be charged for the remaining six. A unique and disturbing friendship between the two began, comprised of written correspondence, face-to-face prison visits, and recorded phone calls. Over the course of years, Howell shared his troubled history with Howard. When his case was finally over, he told her every intimate, grizzly detail of how he became Connecticut’s most prolific serial killer.

In His Garden, Howard probes the complicated mind of William Devin Howell. It is a story that explores the eternal question of human evil and its impact on others, including the woman he chose to hear his horrific confession.

IG22-13. Yoichi Utebi’s “The Cherry Bushido” Movie

Ignite your heart and soul with Sara Troy, and her guest Yoichi Utebi, on air from March 29th

A new film from Japan, “The Cherry Bushido,” lands at the perfect time to remind us to re-examine our convictions and spiritual fortitude in the face of today’s daunting challenges.
Similar yet distinct from chivalry, the western code of honor handed down from the gallant knights of yore, Bushido is the organizing principle of samurai moral values and ethics that has been at the heart and soul of Japanese culture for centuries. Like chivalry, Bushido is typified by virtues like righteousness, benevolence, respect, honor, fidelity, and courage. Unlike the chivalric code, the true Bushido spirit is based on the belief that we are spiritual beings who will eventually return to the spiritual world.
Having experienced relative peace and prosperity in recent years, many have relaxed their self-vigilance and blurred the convictions that can mean the difference between victory and defeat on the spiritual as well as physical plain. With the pandemic and the social, political, and geopolitical turbulence we are experiencing today, now is a good time to consider the Bushido spirit and virtues that can anchor and guide us to act on our beliefs in these trying times.

  • The meaning and history of Bushido code of conduct and ideals
  • The spiritual backbone of the Bushido spirit and how to maintain spiritual fortitude
  • 3 maxims to live by:
    • Live each day as if it is your last
    • Your thoughts determine your future
    • Face fear squarely and fiercely is the message behind “The Cherry Bushido”

Yoichi UtebiYoichi Utebi is a producer and world lecturer for Happy Science. Born in Japan in 1968, Utebi grew up in Beirut, Lebanon, and New York City. Raised in a rare Japanese Christian family, he was deeply touched by Muslim culture and the beauty of Lebanon during his formative years in Beirut. However, the Middle East also exposed Utebi to the horrors of war, as he and his family dodged bullets and bombings before fleeing to London and back to Japan, leaving everything behind in a sudden evacuation.  In the 7th grade, Utebi moved to New York for 10 years, where he was exposed to friends from multiple cultures and ethnicities. His rock band produced a popular album and gained quite a following in the city before Utebi decided to forego his musical pursuits and return to Japan.
After 12 years of experience in marketing and senior management at various American IT companies in Japan, Utebi joined Happy Science in 2010, where he quickly rose to Director of International Communications. Utebi is currently a minister and world lecturer for Happy Science and a producer on The Cherry Bushido.

Let the Light from the darkness show you the way

Having been a person of ill health depression and loss most of my life, I know from my own experience that staying in a vibrational spirituality is the only thing that will get you through. When despair knocks at your door and you feel all is lost, the belief that you will make it through even though you do not know how keeps you moving forward inch by inch.

We cannot ask why me, we cannot state that our world of pain is more than anyone else’s; we have to go into faith and be open to the journey for we are here for a reason.
When you can overcome the deep dark depths of despair and start to see the light, you have to keep that light burning bright, as it will guide you on where you will find that peace, that reason that trust in life again. Everything that is given to us is for a reason but sometimes that reason is just to make us stronger, to believe deeper to trust more and to live in our divine spirituality in that pure belief, for there is the truth the purpose and the purity of the divine truth.

19-09 Energy words, Divine, God, Spirituality, Consciousness.

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy on air from February 26th

We like as human beings to label things, is that so we can identify them, or does it limit are thinking ? With labels we can limit our understanding  and not reach for a better picture of its meaning.

We are creative exploratory creatures by nature, but we are also very governed by programing that dictates in how we choose to receive our divine messages or even believe in them. So why do we limit ourselves to old beliefs and why are we reluctant to allow our channels to open in openness to what the universe has to say to us?

Divine is a word that emcompasses all other words like God, Spirit, Consciousness, Source, Quantum energy, Frequency, and if we open up our minds to open up our souls to ignite the heart and set the spirit free to act, our minds would know what we need to know when we need to know it.

Fearing the unknown will cripple us, being wondrous opens up the divine doors to receiving a higher consciousness. Do not let fear hold you back, for as a human race we are at a crossroads of evolution and the opening of arms to the divine knowingness in wonderment, is need to be creative in finding solutions to our global problems.

C 17-27b Spiritism the New Frontier with Brian Foster

Choose Positive Living   with Sara Troy  and her guest Brian Forster, on air July 4th

Brian says.”I found Spiritism through the NDE of my wife. My search for how anyone could foretell precise events more 20 years in the future, led me to discover the truth of Spiritism. That we are all part of an overall process and that major segments of our life are planned out in advance to help us learn the lessons that we signed up in hope that we would improve in this life and be ready for the next life.”

I have found that we are guided in our lives by the Spirit world and that they are always ready to assist us.

We are immortal souls who travel through multiple reincarnations so we may one day become perfect spirits.

Reincarnation is the process whereby each of us travels through multiple lives to learn to become pure spirits.

Understanding the spirit world help us survive and thrive in our daily lives and allows us to surmount our troubles and bring them into perspective.

Brian Foster is the author of six books, each exploring different aspects of Spiritism, and two books examining near-death and other experiences in light of what Spiritism reveals to us about the spirit world and what the spirit realm is trying to teach us.
