In April of 2012, Michael Averill joined a team of artists that ventured deep into the Himalayas of Nepal in order to spend time with remote mountain cultures not yet affected by commercialism. A documentary of the experience was created called “Beyond The Gates Of Phu.” This film has recently been selected to be shown in mountain film festivals in Nepal, Kathmandu, Russia. and various cities among western Canada. Hear Michael’s songs and stories from his point of view of the adventure – a journey of reflective musical discovery.
