“for the LOVE of Music” with Sara Troy and her guest KELITA, on air from September 12th
KELITA – From Musician to mentor & coach. My music has been my life line from a very young age. I wrote my first song at age 11, shortly after my father committed suicide on our family farm. After that, it became an essential instrument in the expression and healing of my pain. Hiding behind a very harsh and dysfunctional upbringing, followed by one tragedy after another, including various kinds of abuse into my 30’s, I look back and see the music and all its offerings were always interwoven between my personal healing journey and my outward profession as a recording artist. I hid myself behind the music and her sad refrains. After a profound spiritual awakening when I finally came out of my dysfunctional co-dependent closet, I began to openly sing and pour forth more confessional music and the stories to accompany them. It was then I would hear from my fans.
I became a safe place, someone who understood them. That is how I began to walk along side of people on their own healing journeys. To listen, encourage and let them know they are not alone. To pass on the lessons I have gleaned from so many life experiences and help guide and direct those who simply need someone to believe in and cherish them. To let them know – they matter – they are loved. To help them discover their own answers and their hidden gifts. To inspire them to become all they were created to be. To fly! And now after many years of ‘being there’ for others, I am moving my mentoring into a more formal setting.
KELITA is a one-name, one-woman powerhouse, a versatile, multi-talented artist who ignites hearts in her audiences through music, storytelling and, humour.
Whether she’s on stage performing before a large audience or working with people one on one in personal mentorship, KELITA’s unique style and heartfelt emotions touch everyone she comes in contact with.
She connects with audiences on a deeply emotional and spiritual level, borne out of an early life of one misfortune after another. Through her artistic performances and constant giving to others, she has transcended the tragedy of losing her parents and the humiliation and shame of childhood sex abuse, redirecting her energy into a more positive channel.
KELITA is a much-in-demand speaker who mesmerizes audiences with her many talents–singing, comedy and piano playing–and genuine tales of triumph over tragedy. Whether she’s the keynote speaker at a conference or performing before a televised audience, she never fails to impress an adoring public.
Her deep repertoire of talent qualifies KELITA for the superstardom bestowed upon her. As a five-time JUNO Award nominee, (the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy Awards) singer/songwriter, she has a powerful vocal range and an evocative style.
She’s a gifted mimic, comedienne and storyteller who presents a bevvy of quirky characters, from Sophie Flanagan, the colourful trailer park mother of 12, to the infamous, sophisticated, yet hideous author, Priscilla Rottenbaught.
KELITA understands the curative power of humour on a physical and mental well being.
She’s a dedicated humanitarian determined to foster change and she has quietly and tirelessly raised awareness for worthy causes across the globe.
KELITA is a definitely a force of nature, a compassionate, energetic multi-talented performer who continues to engage and inspire a constantly expanding universe of adoring fans and admirers.

Their Story Matters with Sara Troy and her guest The Pink Lady Jackie Goldberg, on air from September 5th
The Pink Lady, dynamic Jackie Goldberg, now 85, became a widow 15 years ago. Her children were no longer at home, her 9 to 5 job was over and she felt it was time to begin a new chapter in her life. She created a series of seminars called, “Get Up, Get Out, & Get a Life!” to encourage baby boomers, seniors and veterans to follow new paths and open new doors to enhance their lives. At the same time, Pink Lady began appearing in stage plays and commercials. She is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors’ Equity; in fact, she appeared in a Super Bowl Commercial for Loctite.
Prior to reinventing herself, Pink Lady worked in the fashion industry; dressing in pink became her trademark. Her philosophy of life is to “Think Pink!” to see the love and inner beauty in everything and everyone around her, and to feel the energy and aura that a colour can give us by letting people see life through rose-colored glasses.
Pink Lady of Hollywood is a force of nature. She’s a producer, an actress, member of Actor’s Equity and SAG-AFTRA, author and community builder, trailblazer, founder, and motivational speaker. And it’s true what people say – being around her is like getting a shot of vitamin C! She has an amazing ability to lift and energize all those around her.
Pink Lady is deeply motivated by her belief that, “Theatre is central to what older adults need in terms of connection, motivation, and enthusiastic participation.” With this conviction, she founded, Senior Star Power Productions, whose mission is to engage, inspire and enrich the lives of seniors and veterans through the performing arts. They offer workshops, mentoring programs, performance opportunities and master classes to inspire, educate, and embrace all seniors and veterans so they can further develop as vital, productive, and creative people.
Despite the reality that everyone ages, society and the media influence and reinforce negative attitudes resulting in unfair prejudices against ageing and older adults. Within the entertainment industry, the roles for older actors get diminished and typecast. They are portrayed as fragile, dependent, helpless, unproductive and demanding rather than deserving of our respect and admiration. Jokes poke fun at ageing, memory loss and physical impairments. Not fair and often untrue!
One of the greatest gifts Pink Lady gives the world is how she challenges stigmas about ageing that seniors face on a regular basis. She has become a powerful voice of today’s 60+ community, that challenges skeptics and proves that it’s “absolutely possible to be vital, creative, enthusiastic, energetic, sexy, and “shout-out” fantastic.” Senior Star Power Productions produced fifteen musical reviews, including “Rockin’ With The Ages,” “The Beat Goes On” and “We Have a Dream.” These musical reviews feature the only talent that is 60+; some have extensive experience in the stage, film and TV industry; some are newcomers. Her shows are nothing short of bursting with talent!
TUNE IN HERE FOR ON-DEMAND LISTENING
We are on 4 sites and 14 audio and 2 video platforms as seen here.
In her latest book, “Get Up, Get Out, & Get A Life! It Ain’t over Til I Say It’s Over” you’ll read, “I believe I’m a perfect example of what the right attitude and gratitude can do for you. You need to know who you are and realize there is still a lot of livin’ to do. The purpose of life, after all, is to live it. This is truly our time to live life to the max-to taste each experience and to live in the present moment, wisely, lovingly and with enthusiasm. In today’s world, it takes guts to get older, without being old. Ageing happens to everyone. It’s inevitable. However, there’s no need to become a victim of age.” I would agree that Pink Lady is a perfect example – and one that I hope many will follow.
Last Veterans Day, she produced the Senior Star Power 2016 Talent Competition “America Salutes Our Veterans,” held in the SOLD OUT 1300 seat Historic Wadsworth Theatre located on the VA Grounds in West Los Angeles. At the event was an impressive list of Honorary Co-Chairs, Host Committee and award recipients, including Mayor Eric Garcetti, Congressman Ted Lieu, Former Congresswoman Diane Watson, Council Members Mitch O’Farrell, Jose Huizar, David Ryu, and Mike Bonin; Dodger Great, Tommy Lasorda; “Tie A Yellow Ribbon” Tony Orlando and Ann-Margret and many more. The audience was incredibly impressed by the sheer level of talent they witnessed, 29 performers each day; It was nothing short of sensational!
In 2018, Pink Lady will open a year-round destination Theatre, The Senior Star Power Theatrical Arts Complex in the Los Angeles/Hollywood area, benefitting the entire community. She produces the ONLY SENIOR THEATRE in Southern California.
Next for this dynamo? “Legends of Hollywood and Broadway” and intergenerational musicals featuring active duty military, veterans and their families from “5 years old to 105 years young.”

“for the LOVE of Music” with Sara Troy and her guest JP Guhns, on air September 5th
“…a refreshing sound in a new generation…a songwriter who brings everyday life to the forefront, in outstanding fashion…”- American Veterans Radio. June 25,2017
JP Guhns is Jake Bublitz. Singer/Songwriter, Occasional Traveller and Life Documenter. The 29 year old Marine can be found these days chasing down dreams and running from a ghost. The chosen pen name is meant to capture the personalities and time periods of the man’s life. From rebellious teenagers in the woods of Wisconsin to the call sign crackling over a radio on patrol in the valleys of Afghanistan. The music is a journey. Written by himself and with a vision in his head, JP Guhnz intends to touch you and impact your thoughts just as the music of his mother (Paul Simon), Father(Bruce Springsteen), Brothers (TRU and 3rdEyeBlind), and Sisters (Patty Griffin) did to him. Music provides the pages to the novel that is our life, the pen name provides your ink.
JPGuhns is redefining music by writing accurate and melodic stories of life. The United States Marine veteran, since going public in April 2017, has independently started a buzz that has seen his three song demo, on Reverb Nation, be downloaded by hundreds, his videos viewed over 30 thousand times, and recently signing a recording partnership with Kiefer Studios, to release his debut project , “Redemption Through a Bottle”, in the Spring of 2018.
JP has pushed his music from writing in Beaufort, South Carolina, to radio stations in Wisconsin and Indiana, and recently was played on 96.9 Nash FM in promotion for the 2017 NASH Next competition. His personal, emotional, and truthful melodies, matched by his energetic and passionate performances, have allowed him to spread his music in the south, playing at the 4th of July Levee Bash present by 40 Arment Brewery in New Orleans, and recently returning from Nashville, where he secured a guest spot in a local television show, The Chico and B-Man Show, and a coveted spot in the single song songwriters around at the Commodore Grill and Lounge.
Outlaw in nature, the Springsteen-esque approach to rock and country, allows no definition or cages to be placed on the music that brings forth the real life trials and triumphs of the working man, in an authentic form of audio documentation.
A self-proclaimed common man, JP is far from the current normality of copy and paste replicas that rule the day. Capable of writing and performing a relevant and true sound, the opportunity to record at the multi-platinum Ocean Way Nashville Studio found JP not on the familiar ground in the Music Capital with the sounds that control the music he was raised on as a Midwest kid. “…the place has unbelievable talent, but the authenticity of the music was far and few. It didn’t seem personal, it didn’t seem like original people making original music.”
It may seem like David yelling at Goliath, but JP has come back with an earned stripe of experience and a hunger that will not be fulfilled until he’s had the opportunity to be heard…besides David won.
All the songs that you have here are the first cuts from the album that we are currently working on. They are basic guitar, vocal , bass and drum songs and we look forward to getting feedback towards the project. We will be sending yout he finished project some time next spring.
Good Friends and Whiskey – Written by Jake Bublitz, Performed by Jake Bublitz and Glen Kiefer, Produced by Glen Kiefer and Andrew Slater
“This song is a textbook life song. The opening verse talks about a sudden end to a relationship, The second verse can either be stated as a man leave the correctional system and starting over or a man in the shallow waters of our current economical system in America. The third verse is the deep and intimate story of loss in combat. Having experienced all three of these worlds and knowing the pain and direct consequence the bridge of all the verses to chorus is the medication we need sometimes.”
Mississippi’s Rollin- Written by Jake Bublitz, Performed by Jake Bublitz and Glen Kiefer, Produced by Glen Kiefer and Andrew Slater
“This song is a documentation of one of the reoccurring themes and stories in life. We tend to love with such abandon and burn at such high temperatures. This song was written for one of my closest friends as he woke up one morning to find his woman of 5 years done with him. I wrote it with that in mind and from his place.”
Can’t Handle That Talk-Written by Jake Bublitz, Performed by Jake Bublitz and Glen Kiefer, Produced by Glen Kiefer and Andrew Slater
“This song is so close to me it’s ridiculous. I’ve been on active duty for 11 years. In and out of combat zones and special duties. You tend to at times lose touch with the civilian world and when you reenter to find such down and outs and drastic changes you can’t help but feel blessed and concerned. God has allowed and blessed me to find a good job and to keep me away from the financial downfalls and struggles that I find when I return to Wisconsin or talk to buddies that have moved on from military service. The song itself is self explanatory. “
Spirit of a Bottle- Written by Jake Bublitz, Performed by Jake Bublitz and Glen Kiefer, Produced by Glen Kiefer and Andrew Slater
“The underlining theme of the album is a sinner looking for redemption. The song lyrically defines the point of the most of the songs. It is a conversation with God from a man who doesn’t want help or a two way conversation.”
