Marisa Thomas, Author, Executive Coach, and Business Owner, is a talent amplifier, forward-leaning visionary, and strategic business leader. I grew up in Leicester, England, with Italian parents who moved to England in their early 20s. I am the youngest of four children, and I often isolated myself to sit in the shadows of my more accomplished siblings. I struggled with academics, which caused me a lot of inner turmoil. My family is incredibly supportive of each other, so there was really no need for me to feel the way I did, and I think my dad tuned into this early on. He never judged but always reminded me of what I was good at and inspired me to elevate those strengths. What I was good at centered around a love for the arts. I found my confidence in dance and theatre, which taught me so much more about myself and shifted my mindset to turn my academic struggles into my biggest superpowers in leadership.

After a short career in teaching, I turned to the corporate world and started a 25-year career at Capital One. I started on the phones, quickly finding myself in the training department within 6 months, and continued to grow my skills in eliminate the overwhelm . Throughout this journey across various disciplines, from supplier management to operations and strategic business management, I maintained a love for developing the leadership of others. I have been coaching and mentoring emerging and experienced leaders for over 2 decades, and it is now the fully committed focus of my business, DoorSeffect.

I’m on a mission to eliminate the overwhelm that comes with the responsibility of leadership and shift that toward elevating the foundational strengths of great leadership. From 2 decades of research, coaching, and practicing as a corporate leader, I have found a formula that has amplified the talents of so many who were lost in the speed force of life and the fast-paced, constantly increasing super-human expectations.

I have helped countless leaders step out of the speedforce of life and find value-driven clarity and purpose to strategically preserve, cultivate, and optimize their energy to live their best life. The best part is that these transformations toward amplified fulfillment at work and in life have a compounding impact on their teams, organizations, and communities at large.

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from April 23rd

It was an overnight sensation that took years to make. It is funny how we discover people and think they are an overnight sensation, where it took years of struggle to get there. My own journey has been twelve years in the making, with almost eleven years of my own network.

When you think about it, it is more like a lifetime because of all the experiences you acuminate over the years. I did not become who I am today yesterday, it took my sixty nine years of life and then finding a path which I love and allowing it to guide me to where I was meant to be, doing what I was meant to do.

This year has been my harvest. With my own memoir out there, Sara’s Self Discovery to Soul Living, and the production of Our Forgotten Children book and contributing in two other books, it was many seeds coming to fruition all within five months. Four books, a new home ( which my daughter and husband and brought for me) and my son and fiancé providing help in moving and a new couch, I am blessed and truly grateful.

The universe works in its own way; although I have asked and worked for these things, the universe decides when it is time. The alignment of he stars, energies, and people, all have to be in sync to make it happen, and this is the right time now.

So as I take a couple of weeks off to move from two cities into one. I leave you with 3600 shows all found under these genres HERE I have done already this year 98 shows, and after my moving break, so much more to come, including the invitation to be in the Coaching Your Self Discovery anthology.

Jim Flaherty was an international advertising writer/creative director, has published two novels, and two non-fiction books. Was also creator and innkeeper of a five star country inn/conference center. He is a frequent motivational speaker about aging cheerfully; the pain and pleasure of writing; the joy and OMG of parenting; living abroad; and embracing an ancient quip of Noel Coward: Work is more fun than fun. A strong believer you are only as old as you think, Jim thinks 88 (going on 58) is terrific, and is a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Besides his books, he has a TV series, screenplay, and musical ready for public viewing. Home is a 1940’s art-filled dairy barn in the foothills of the Berkshires. He sings in his Church choir. And has appeared in regional theatre.
