22-29 Be Your Seeds of Joy……

Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from July 30th

Are you tired and run down by all the negativity out there in the world?

Are you feeling saturated by all the hate and discord?

Do you feel you have no energy or reason to go on in life?

Are you feeling trapped in a world of miserly?

THERE IS A WAY OUT AND BACK TO JOY.

Decide to plants seeds of gratitude for all you do have, and water those seeds of joy and let bloom. We must change our mindset, we must open our hearts even if we feel pain, for a closed heart cannot receive the divine’s message of clarity and love.

An open heart lets the soul’s wisdom come through enriching the heart and igniting our spirit into exuberant action thus giving our minds clarity of what we need to know when we need to know it.

Only when you decide that you are not going to feed the negativity, the doom and gloom anymore, can you start to see the solutions of hope and possibilities. You may have to say goodbye to some places and people, you may have to go into yourself and block others for a while so you can realign and set your spirit heart and soul free.

Take a deep breath and do it again until your feel relaxed and calm. Now speak positives to yourself by looking at what you have to be grateful for, and that you do have options should you seek them out. Tell people that you are unavailable for a while and place that loving value upon yourself.

Imagine, if the ONE WEEK you only amerced in positive things, do caringness and showing kindness, be around nature and all its loving good vibrations. Nature does not lie, it does not judge, it does not hate, no matter what we do to it. Being amongst such loving vibrations is so healing.

Music is a soul and heart opener and can calm an anxious mind and soul and help lift people from depression, so can nutritional’s and (some meds) that can feed our bodies what it needs to raise our energies.

Here at Self Discovery Media, we have a channel called Mental Health Awareness, and here you will find many answers on how to regain our equilibrium again and find that loving joy of living and being alive in this beautiful abundant world. When we hear that we are not alone, but others and facing challenges themselves and that they have found a way out of the maze of despair into loving joy, it shows us that we too, if we act on it can reach the same beautiful loving vibrations of joy and love our selves. After all we are the peace we seek, we are the love we seek, we are the joy and exuberance that others seek from us.

Be that solution for others by first healing yourself.

MH22-28 Ronald A. Alexander, Open Mindfulness Creativity

Mental Health Awareness with Sara Troy and her guest Ronald A. Alexander, on air from June 28th

The Big Idea: When artists describe their creative process, they inevitably talk about being in an open mind state where the download of core creativity can happen. Musicians such as The Band’s Robbie Robertson’s description that “Creativity comes from the womb of emptiness” to James Taylor’s observation about “waiting to hear it” and having “to be in a place where you can receive the song” reveal that creativity isn’t a rational, calculated activity. It’s about allowing oneself to become receptive.

The So-What: Mindfulness meditation takes us out of overthinking and into the mind state of receptivity. The stillness and focus involved in meditation alters our brainwaves, and therefore, our mind state. Distraction-free time leads us to an open mind. Both core creativity and intuitive wisdom and knowledge can be accessed in an open mind state — not because we have an open mind, or are trying to be open minded, but because we’re in a state of pure receptivity after giving ourselves over to emptiness.

Key Messages: Ron Alexander can expound on the exciting possibilities available to us all to open the mind and stimulate creative responses. He explores:

  • Where ideas ultimately originate from
  • What valuable mind-sets and habits can prepare us to achieve creative breakthroughs
  • How to activate the “witnessing self” to become less emotionally reactive and more open to new experiences
  • How to embrace what Buddhists call beginner’s mind to approach what’s familiar with a fresh perspective
  • How dreams offer clues to what’s unfinished or unexpressed in our lives

LM22-27. James Campion and “Take a Sad Songs” Inspiration.

fir the LOVE of Music with Sara Troy and her guest James Campion, on air from

In The Emotional Currency of “Hey Jude,” James Campion dives deeply into the song’s origins, recording, visual presentation, impact, and eventual influence, while also discovering what makes “Hey Jude” a classic musical expression of personal comfort and societal unity conceived by a master songwriter, Paul McCartney. Within its melodic brilliance and lyrical touchstones of empathy and nostalgia resides McCartney’s personal and professional relationship with his childhood friend and songwriting partner, John Lennon, and their simultaneous pursuit of the women who would complete them. There are also clues to the growing turmoil within the Beatles and their splintering generation scarred by war, assassination, and virulent protest.

Campion’s journey into the song includes the insights of experts in the fields of musicology, sociology, , and history. Campion also reveals commentary from noted Beatles authors, biographers, music historians, and journalists and, finally, a peek into the craft of songwriting from a host of talented composers across several generations.

Take a Sad Song is a tribute to how a song can define, inspire, and affect us in ways we do not always fully comprehend, as well as a celebration of a truly amazing track in the Beatles canon that reveals one band’s genius and underscores its lasting voice in our cultural and musical landscape.

YH22-28. Jenny Watson. Elderberry Syrup Wonders

Your Health is Your Choice with Sara Troy and her guest Jenny Watson, on air from July 12th

As a new mom, I was desperate to find these ways to help my children feel their best and build strong immune systems, but I didn’t know where to turn. Elderberry Syrup helped me feel empowered as a mom to fuel my children with natural ingredients. Our company started from a simple Facebook post in 2017 where I wanted to share this incredible remedy with other moms looking to keep their families healthy. From that Facebook post, I grew this business from my home kitchen with customers walking up to my front door to a nationwide brand shipping directly to our customers in all 50 states (and now in Canada too)! And we still make the same small batch, hand crafted, fresh and delicious Elderberry Syrup every single week! Our small team puts their heart and soul into every jar, and we are honored to help so many families discover the benefits of elderberries.

Jenny Watson is the founder of The Elderberry Co. The wife of a pastor and stay-at-home mom with two small children, she was looking for ways to keep her family healthy, naturally. She started making Elderberry Syrup in her kitchen and found they were no longer fighting colds or flu. Friends and family were her first customers, but soon, it got to the point where strangers were showing up at her doorstep at all hours wanting to buy the magic elixir. Within a year, Jenny was making the syrup in mass batches in a commercial kitchen, and today, is managing a multi-million dollar business with a line of products and 11 employees.

Living on her own by 16, surviving a life altering car accident at 18, and then becoming debilitated from a  spinal injury at 28,  LauraBeth knows well the adversities that life can present.  Her faith in God was tested as her entire world crumbled, and she went from being a hands-on mom to 4 sons, ages 8 and under, to being confined to bed due to chronic pain.

In her darkest hours, she cried out to God, and found solace and comfort in words that came to her in the form of poetry, prose, and songs.  Given time, she overcame her despair and pressed into God more deeply, learning to accept her situation, and determined to make the best of life, despite its difficulties.

She thought of creative ways to parent her children, and spent a lot of quality time with them in her room, which now became “the family room”.  Reading stories, playing board games, doing homework, check in points, talks, and watching favorite shows were now the norm.

Once the boys were older, LauraBeth knew she was being called to share her poetry, and her story with others, to offer anyone going through difficulties a sense of comfort and hope!  She had been given the name “Cheerful Hearts” about ten years prior as a vision.  And knew one day she would have a company that provided “Good Medicine” to the soul.

In 2006, while still confined to four walls, that dream was realized, as she turned ten years’ worth of writing into an inspirational greeting card, gift, and keepsake line!   She also began sharing her story as a motivational speaker, encouraging others that no matter their circumstance, with perseverance, faith, and determination,  that they can overcome any difficulty they face!  In 2009, she became a Live Your Best Life Coach, offering those going through their own challenges a clear path, with strategic steps to move forward to live their own inspired life full of possibilities!

It is her heart’s passion to encourage, uplift, inspire and motivate you, wherever you are in this journey of life!  She genuinely cares about people, and wants to bring joy to others through her work.
