We have been fortunate to live the life of our dreams for over 25 years. Our early years in business were exhausting and overwhelming; our health and our relationships were suffering. To stop that negative cycle, we learned how to operate our business in a different way, a way that allowed us to step back and be the owners rather than the operators of the business. Looking back on that journey, I recognized 6 principles that enabled us to create the freedom to live our dream life while still running a successful business. With Ral West Livin’ the Dream, my motivation is to fulfill a mission and follow my passion. I want to teach as many entrepreneurs as possible how to run their businesses in a way that enables them to achieve success while enjoying the life they truly want to have.

Ral’s story – from my early businesses to Ral West Livin’ the Dream
I am a 45-year serial entrepreneur, most of that time in partnership with my husband of over 40 years. Our primary business for 25 years was a scheduled charter airline that carried passengers on wide-body jets between Alaska and Hawaii. It was called Hawaiian Vacations. After growing it to mid-8 digits in annual revenue, we sold it to Alaska Airlines in 2008.
We did not stop there, however. Our next big venture was buying small (under 100 passengers) cruise ships, which we then leased to a cruise line that operated them in Alaska, Mexico, and on the Columbia River. Later, we ventured into partnering in multifamily syndications that purchased apartment complexes across several states in the US Sunbelt. This was an expansion of our real estate investing side businesses that we had started in the early 1990’s.
In 2023, I decided to start yet another business, this time on my own. Primarily through one-on-one coaching, I teach entrepreneurs the 6 principles we used to grow and scale our businesses. I show them how to organize their business in a way that creates freedom for the life they want.
