Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest Scott Paly, on air from March 20th

THE KIDS AREN’T ALRIGHT?

Scott Paly, author of Get It Together: Cultural And Practical Tips To Be A Successful Adult.

This book is about taking control of your life. That’s it. What you do with that control is entirely up to you. Inside, you’ll find things you may not have learned in school, but you absolutely need to know if you are going to Get It Together. The tips, advice and exercises are helpful at any age, but especially for a young person wanting to become an independent high schooler or adult.

A sample of the highly useful and must-knows: Part One – the value of mentors, the American Dream, keeping commitments, hard work, moderation and “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should” Part Two – finding, keeping and being successful at a job, interviewing, resumes, and getting into and paying for college Part Three – getting your financial life in order: bank accounts, credit and debit cards, saving for the future, insurance and basic legal documents Part Four – the how-to’s of daily life, from buying smart, eating smart, personal security, getting a good roommate and renting an apartment to taking care of a car, doing laundry and cooking for yourself All these life skills, not generally taught in school, are crucial to being an adult and crafting a successful life. It’s time to Get It Together.

C18-10 DEARJAMES. Intuitive Insight, Answers & Advice… To Your Life Questions

Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest  DearJames, on air from March 6th

2

DearJames is an intuitive advice column, offering Insight, Answers & Advice… To Your Life Questions. The Insight, Answers & Advice are intuitive/clairvoyant in nature and are intuited from the Universe / Source.

DearJames is also a community, whereby resources for inspiration/motivation, charitable giving, discussions and the search for something “greater” in one’s life may be experienced, shared and realized.

You will experience here, my routine use of and faith in, the “Universe” / “Source.” Society uses many different names for the source, depending upon your faith, culture, religion, belief system, etc. For me, “source,” is all that is. It is that, which we are all connected, born from and return to. It exists in a higher realm than earth, and yet encompasses earth, the Universe and all that is.

In all aspects of life, I firmly believe the Universe / Source, speaks to each individual soul.

It is our internal compass.

It is only the degree in which each individual soul “tunes-in,” to that internal compass, that allows it a “greater” or “heightened” sense of connectivity and guidance… A higher intuitive sense of awareness or consciousness of the events occurring, not only in our own lives but also in the lives of those around us and the greater of society as a whole… the “collective consciousness.”

We are all part of the grander “Oneness,” or “All That Is,” as we are each individual souls, of the collective whole, on this journey of experience called “Life.”

Having begun this journey in 1992, and having read for individuals, both nationally and internationally, I can say with all honesty and sincerity, I did not come to this calling easily, and yet I did. It was and is an inherently innate gift. For me, there is no greater life gift, than the ability to help your fellow souls, on their journey through life. The ability to intuitively help people you’ve never met, met for the very first time, or known for lifetimes, overcome obstacles, push past / through fears, realize their inner potential, their dreams, and/or just make better decisions in life, is electrifying and humbling, awe-inspiring and reflective. It comes with great care, consideration and responsibility, great humility and grace.

DearJames is a conduit, a vessel, through which the Universe may communicate and I am a willing and humble steward of this communication. It is one way in which I am able to share this gift.

May the gift of Intuitive Insight, Answers & Advice, be yours, and may your journey through life be filled with conscious awareness of All That Is.

DearJames is available for private, Individual, Group and Corporate Intuitive/Clairvoyant Consultations.

The Best and Worst of 2017 movies

Another year in filmdom has come and gone, and countless movie reviewers have issued their best and worst lists for 2017. And so, with that said, it’s time to add my voice to the chorus, with my choices for the cream of the crop and the curdled cream best discarded.

In the interest of full disclosure, I must confess that I did not screen every film that was released in 2017, most notably those that were distributed through limited or select channels, such as the Netflix exclusive “Mudbound.” However, I did spend considerable time staring at those flickering lights on the big screen last year, enough to make me feel comfortable in offering up my selections for the pictures that I believe represented the best and worst of past 12 months.

C18-07 DO WOMEN STILL WANT TO BE SOMEONE’S VALENTINE?

Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest Prestell Askia, on air from February 13th

THERE’S A CHILL WIND BLOWING…

“The #MeToo movement is putting a chill on romance this Valentine’s Day, and a deep freeze on what for years has been a route to marriage: the office love affair, according to relationship experts.

The number of Americans admitting to being in an office romance has fallen, and some feminist activists call that change as well as zero tolerance for unacceptable behaviour in the workplace long overdue. The movement is sparking the kind of direct communication essential for love, they say.

#MeToo has dampened one traditional route to dating: Office romances. The percentage of U.S. workers are saying they were in one fell to a 10-year-low of 36 percent, according to a Nov. 28-Dec. 20 online Harris Poll of 809 private sector employees sponsored by recruitment site CareerBuilder.

That was down from 41 percent a year earlier, a statistically significant drop in a poll with a 3.45 percent margin of error.

“The #MeToo movement is splashing cold water on whatever embers of romance are struggling to survive between men and women,” said Dr. Carole Lieberman, a psychiatrist and author of “Bad Boys: Why We Love Them.”

C 18-08 “Never Give up on your Dream” with Cliff Simon

Choose Positive Living with Sara Troy and her guest Cliff Simon,  on air from February 20th

Never give up. Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth. Do not conform to what you think others want or need you to be. Be yourself. No one can tell you, who you are going to become. No one is in charge of you. If you believe you will make it, you will, don’t listen to just anyone who says you cannot. Always be open to listening to people who have experience in what you want to do. Don’t conform.  Some teachers will tell you, ‘You will never be that.’ I hated school because of the constraints. School has nothing to do with how well you will perform in the pursuit of your dreams, or in life.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, an Air Force veteran and International athlete, Cliff Simon’s unique presence sets him apart every-time. A powerful veteran actor living in Los Angeles since 2000 realized his dream of becoming a USA citizen. He is a published author of ‘Paris Nights my year at the Moulin Rouge’.

At a very young age, Cliff aspired to be the first South African swimmer to win an Olympic Gold medal. His mother, being a swim teacher, had him in the pool before he could walk and instilled all the confidence he ever needed to follow that path. At the age of 6, he showed talent as a gymnast. By age 15 Cliff had reached a national level in South Africa in both swimming and gymnastics, but to go further in either one, he needed to devote 100% of his time to just one, and he chose swimming.

At age 15, with all the turmoil in South Africa, his parents decided to immigrate to the United Kingdom. It was here that Cliff completed his schooling and was chosen to swim in the British International squad. He competed in Olympic trials and qualified for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. He was offered scholarships to Houston University and Southern Methodist University in Texas, where he would train with the best United States swim team, the Mustangs. This would have culminated in him competing in the 1984 Olympic Games.

However, after scraping ice off his car windshield at 5am every morning for 3 years before heading off to swimming training and spending 61/2 hours a day in the pool, Cliff felt waterlogged, burnt out and that he was missing out on his social life as a young man. Halfway through a training session, Cliff climbed out of the pool, sat on the edge and told his coach that he was leaving and would be returning to sunny South Africa. Back in South Africa, Cliff entered the Air Force where he continued his swimming and achieved the highest athletic award given in the Air Force, the Victor Ludorum. In 1982 after serving his 2-year term, Cliff took all he owned in one suitcase and headed down to the coast in an old Fiat convertible.

He landed a job teaching windsurfing and water-skiing at a resort hotel. As fate would have it, a stage show was in production at the resort and Cliff was informed by one of the performers that the choreographer was looking for a gymnast. Cliff somehow knew that this was going to be the first step towards a career on stage. To cut a long story short, Cliff performed all over the world in various stage productions as a dancer/acrobat, culminating in his dream role as a principal performer at the world famous and iconic Moulin Rouge Theater, Paris in 1989.

On his return to South Africa, Cliff pursued his stage career. Whilst studying drama, Cliff secured himself a modelling agent and enjoyed much success in ramp, print and television commercials. Cliff received major recognition as a model in South Africa and was asked to enter The Mr South Africa talent and action man competition. On winning this competition in 1992, Cliff was offered an audition on a hugely successful television series, called Egoli – Place of Gold. After guest-starring on the show for 3 months, he was offered a permanent contract as a regular cast member in a lead role and would go on to become a household name for his 6-year run. After being personally affected and sick and tired of the violent crime in Johannesburg, he decided it was now or never and he immigrated to the USA with his wife, with the hope of having a better quality of life. This also gave him the opportunity to realize a long time dream of further pursuing his acting career in America.

Cliff soon landed a guest star role with Don Johnson on the hit TV series, ‘Nash Bridges’. A short time after that, he acquired the guest star recurring role of Ba’al on ‘Stargate SG1’. Cliff’s combination of charming bad guy charisma and wicked sense of humour made him a viewer favourite antagonist, keeping his character recurring for 5 seasons.

In 2007, Cliff was brought back to play Ba’al in the Stargate SG1 movie, ‘Continuum’, which was released in 2008. Cliff was nominated for BEST GUEST STAR at Best of TV Awards Canada 2014 for his role in ‘Castle’. Cliff has many upcoming projects and has guest-starred in many network TV series and films. His short film ‘The Long Dig’ is due for release in Aug 2018. He is penned for 2 huge upcoming projects ‘Almythea 2 Rise of the Astra’ and ‘Land of the Free’. His latest film release ‘Project Eden Vol 1′( Best Vision Award at the Boston Film Festival ) had a USA theatrical release in Jan 2018, and he is getting ready to shoot Vol 2 in 2018.

When Cliff is not working you will find him racing dolphins on his kiteboard off the beaches of Malibu or surfing a wave and leading a quiet life.
