Mental Health Awareness with Sara Troy and her guest Kat King, on air from March 12th
True North — How to Center and Ground Yourself Amid Chaos
This segment is about what we can do to align our value systems with our daily lives.
The Big Idea: Psychological trauma, mental illness, physical and emotional pain, and disembodied value systems are at an all-time high. We have become guided by who we think we are supposed to be rather than who we actually are. Yet, like the North Star whose fixed position in the night sky provides a compass by which to navigate, we humans possess an inner True North that steers us toward our essential selves. It’s from that fixed home within our Selves that we allow our radiance to emanate.
The So-What: Discovering our core values and the very essence within each us is the way to nurture the brilliant light that’s our lifeforce. As simple as it may seem in theory, however, a great deal of self-reflection and inner examination is required to orient our lives with a True North perspective. But such nuanced, tricky alignment is greatly aided through practices that include anchoring (what tethers us to our authentic Self), value exploration (prioritizing values that are closest to our hearts), and intentionality (being awake and conscious of our lives instead of being on autopilot).
Key Messages: King blends scientific research-based principles with practicality to get to the heart of questions and issues that stand in the way of becoming our authentic selves. She addresses:
How to connect with your innermost Self through introspective thought-provoking exercises
How to intentionally shape your worldview into a reality that provides generativity, fulfillment, and peace
How to practice self-forgiveness and come to love the parts inside that hurt
How to identify and heal unhealthy generational patterns and end toxic family dynamics
How to live with robust integrity by discerning between experiences and relationships that either fulfill you or detract from your job

This article was written by Bill Maquis and is a re-posting of an article that was originally posted to “The Living Fractals Company” website: http://livingfractals.com
I was waiting until I could find something special to write about for the first article on our blog. Then a series of fortunate events happened that made it all come together. I hope you enjoy…
A friend came up to Canada to Spend Memorial Day here and asked to meek up with me for a coffee to go over few things on a project that I am working with him and other friend of ours. During our conversation my friend opened up his computer and went to my company website and opened my bio page (https://livingfractals.com/our-story/meet-our-founder/). He then went skimmed down the page and asked me to explain the meaning to the following to him…
“Miracles in life don’t just happen you live life to make them happen”
I began by saying that most people after hearing my life stories the first thing ask me “How do I do it?” The simple way I use to explain was by telling that that I simply believe that I can do then I do whatever it takes to make it happen. Unfortunately presenting this answer always lead people to believing in a fantasy that I am some sort of miracle worker or have been blessed with some type of divine gift. So I started explaining how I do things using the reverse logic. Starting from fantasy of miracles and leading to my truth… After I started using the new approach shifted people focus from how I did these things to asking me to explain the meaning of statement, just like you did right now. This reverse process enabled me lead them out of the world of fantasy that to the actual factual truth; which is that all I really do is just believe I can do it and then do what ever it takes to make it happen. The only ingredients you need in order to succeed are an unwavering belief that you can do it, an unlimited amount of patience and an insurmountable amount of hard work!!!
At this point my friend burst out laughing, because he has heard me often openly boast that I am one of the laziest people you will ever meet. This a true statement because you will never see me running around and working hard just to end up going no where. The secret to my successes in life is doing the things that no one else wants to do but need to get done in order to succeed. These are often the tasks that require a lot of hard work and/or an extreme amount of patience.
I then ask him to tell me what the word “miracle” means. His response was “A miracle is a phenomenon that happens that we can not rationally explain”. To which I responded with “So in fact the word ‘miracle’ really means “impossible” So if we change the word ‘miracle ‘in the original statement to the word ‘impossible’ we get…
“Impossibilities in life don’t just happen, you live life to make them happen“
Which is literally what the original statement means. Needless to say after I showed him the revised statement, my friend now had a really bemused and puzzled look on his face and asked “What do you mean we live life to make them (impossibilities) happen?” I know that no one would actually make a statement like this because people would perceive this in a very negative way just as my friend did. Using the word “miracles” is much more acceptable way of conveying the same message, however the word “miracles” falsely instills the sense that only “hope and prayer” are the only solutions to overcoming the impossible.
I then went on and asked my friend what the word “impossible” means” His answer was “It is something that can’t be done”. The word “impossible” does not literally mean that something “can’t be done”. It merely expresses an opinion that “it is something that we may want or need accomplish can not be accomplished now. Believe it or not the easiest impossibilities to make possible are the ones that everyone else believe will never happen!!!So I presented the following example to explain what I mean…
Man created the belief that it was impossible for man to ever walk on the moon. Then one day people slowly started believing we could. Many years later man actual walked on the moon. It this unique ability of human mind to recognize the impossible that creates our dreams, inspirations, visions and aspirations that it is possible.
Then I proceeded to go of on a bit of a tangent about language that went something like this…
Language was created as way to express and record very complex concepts in very simple terms. The way in which language conveys these concepts is through the creation and use of words. Using words we combine language constructs to fully express our thoughts. The word ‘possible’, it is a simple word created to express the concept that something can be accomplish within a given time frame. From this word we also needed create a way to express the opposite concept which is to explain when something can not be accomplished regardless of time frame. So we created the word “impossible” by adding the letters i and m to beginning of the word “possible”. In fact if you look at most of the words that begin with the letters i and m this same general rule applies.
Another question I need answer before we move on is “Why did we chose to add the letters i and m to the word possible rather than creating an entirely new word?” The technical answer is that the two words have a “co-dependent and dynamic relationship with one another” and because of this is easiest way for the human mind to properly convey and process information correctly. In addition to everything we have already discussed. The word “impossible” also has relevancy and interchangeability with the word “miracle”, in that the word “miracle” is based upon that fact that something is impossible that happened that can’t be be rationally explained. For example we use to believe that it is impossible for someone to jump out of a plane from 5,000 feet and survive. Then one day a parachutist who’s parachute failed “miraculously” survived such a fall.
So how is all this information getting us closer to explaining the meaning of…
“Miracles in life don’t just happen you live life to make them happen”
We then went on to have a bit if creative fun playing around with the word “impossible”. I reverse engineered a simple string of words based on the way in which the word was originally constructed. This created the following string… “I m possible”. Now drop in an apostrophe between “I” and “M” we have “I am possible” which really doesn’t really mean anything, however this string of words infers the that “I am possible, therefore?”. Pressing on from here I took this string of words and combined it everything else we had talked about you come up with the following statement…
“The fact that I am made possible is due only to ‘The miracle of life“, which in and of itself is an impossibility, means that everything in life must be possible and therefore nothing is impossible. The choice to make the impossible possible is solely up to you!”
Comedian Robin Williams had his of way of expressing this same concept…
“I am, therefore I is”
If we were mental unable to create improbabilities in life there simply would not be any possibilities for us to grow and evolve from… All you have to do is believe and be willing to do what ever it takes to make it happen! Which brings us back to where we began our conversation, but now armed with a more purposeful. meaningful and tangible explanation to the truth in believing…
“Miracles in life don’t just happen, you live life to make them happen”
If you believe in making miracles happen…

In memory of one of the greatest people to ever walk the earth…
Just as I sat down to write this article I discovered one of my role models had passed away, The great “Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr”. This was a man who believed and lived life by pursuing the true meaning of LIFE. That being to… “To peacefully transform the world into one where everyone has Liberty, Independence, Freedom and Equality.”
Here in his own words are his views on the impossible…
“Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they have been given than to explore the power to change it. Impossible is not a fact it is an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It is a dare! Impossible is potential. Impossibly is temporary. Impossible is nothing”
Muhammad Ali, 1942-2016
Thank you for all that your wisdom has enabled me to accomplish in my own life. Including overcoming Parkinson’s disease. You will always be remembered for the inspiration and wisdom that you have shared with the world .

Music has always played a very important role in Bill’s life. In fact he spent most of his career life working in the professional and consumer audio and music industries. Many of the things Bill has been able to accomplish in life he credits to music for it’s inspiration, guidance and wisdom. Here is one of the many music videos that inspired him to believe that everything in life is possible…
Thank you John Lennon
It was your song “Imagine” that it inspired me as a 10 year old boy back in 1971 who at the time was learning how to overcome a mental disorder to believe that anything in life is possible. Today this same song serves as the foundational principle that give greater purpose and meaning to everything we do in The Living Fractals Company and the Living Orchard. In honor and gratitude to you our company is dedicated to helping fulfill one of your dreams…
To peacefully transform the world into one where everyone can live LIFE with Liberty, Independence Freedom and Equality.

Positive Vibrations Roundtable with Sara Troy and her guests Bill Maquis and Richard Gorden aired from August 25th
Life Force Energy, our very planet and all that is living on it has an energy signature, how do we tap into it and how do we understand this life’s energy force and use in our daily lives?
Both Bill and Richard use the energy force to heal, Bill to heal his broken bones and maintain his health and Richard in teaching people how to heal themselves and others. We will learn just how easy and empowering quantum energy is and how we can feel ourselves from pain.
Bill considers himself to be a very fortunate person because of all the opportunities and gifts that life has provided him. One of the greatest gifts Bill received is the legacy his parents gave to him to pass on and share with others. You see Bill was born with a mental disorder called OCD which did not become apparent until he reached the age of 8 or 9. His parents instead of treating him as disabled took the approach that OCD is a phenomenon of birth and a special gift that made Bill very unique. Due to their relentless dedication to developing an understanding of how Bill’s mind worked, they were able to help Bill develop life skills that enable him to live his life with purpose, meaning and dignity. Throughout Bill’s life, he has continued to develop these skills and understanding of how his mind works to overcome and manage many other health challenges he faces developed over time. his most recent health challenges began in August of 2011 when broke his back for the fourth time, which was directly caused by his Parkinson’s disease and a degenerative bone disorder. To overcome and manage theses and all his other health challenges he simply uses the power of his mind and the manipulation of his energy.
Here is a short list of some of the things Bill deals with daily…
Bill deals with Chronic pain – various parts of the body (Bill has broken over 30 bones including his neck and back 4 times (12 vertebrae in all!)
Bill deals with a rare form of OCD plus he has survived multiple brain trauma injuries and concussions due to injury.
Bill deals with Scoliosis and degenerative bone disease that affects his spine.
Bill deals with Osteo and Rheumatoid arthritis.
To top it all off Bill has been adapting to living with the onset of Parkinson’s Disease since 2004!
Bill is also a co/host on Wise Health sharing is energy health perspective with Suma Nathan. wise-health
Richard Gordon, founder of Quantum-Touch Organization, is a visionary and a pioneer. With 37 years of experience in the field of energy medicine, Richard is the best-selling author of ‘Quantum-Touch: The Power to Heal’, now published in 17 languages, and ‘Your Healing Hands – The Polarity Experience’, available in 10 languages.
While attending Christos School of Natural Healing in Taos, New Mexico in the 70’s, Richard discovered the power of working with energies and hands-on healing. This work led to a wide range of further discoveries as Richard began to explore all the energies around his hands. He eventually met an awe-inspiring healer named Bob Rasmussen, who had an extraordinary ability to heal people’s bodies with his hands. Richard began apprenticing with him and this is how his work was born.
Richard founded Quantum-Touch organization more than 16 years ago. The organization currently has more than 1,400 certified practitioners in 50+ countries around the globe. Their vision and mission is to help improve the health and quality of life for many people using simple, easy to learn energy healing techniques.
With his expertise and passion for sharing the message about hands-on healing, Richard has travelled around the globe to speak at medical centers, conferences, and chiropractic colleges. He was faculty at Heartwood Institute and the Holistic Health Institute. Dr. C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D. (Founding President of the American Holistic Medical Association) endorsed Richard’s work, calling it, “The first technique that may truly allow us all to become healers.”
