Everyone should be encouraged to learn how the body can naturally detox, and  regenerate on its own, if we provide the information, tools (nutrition, energy/frequency) and guidance.    I was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer in 2016 with meets to liver, spleen and lower lung lobe. I was told my prognosis was grim, to prepare for leaving this earth.  The fear tactic was utilized to try to convince me to go in for full right breast and partial left breast mastectomy with anticipation of follow-up with chemo or radiation and reconstructive surgeries.  It all sounded overwhelming to me.    I have managed my MS for almost 10 years with nutrition, lifestyle management and herbs however this was more intense.  My hubby reminded me that “I Had this”.  I wasn’t so confident.

As a Holistic Nutritionist, I figured nutrition, life style management would be enough – I just needed to be very strict. It wasn’t enough. I spent many hours searching for answers, solutions.  I knew energy to the cell was key.

Dr. John Poothullil Empowers Patients with New Scientific Insights and Complementary Approaches to Prevent Obesity, Reverse Diabetes, and Survive Cancer

John Poothullill practiced medicine as a pediatrician and allergist for more than 30 years, with 27 of those years in the state of Texas. He received his medical degree from the University of Kerala, India in 1968, after which he did two years of medical residency in Washington, DC and Phoenix, AZ, and two years of fellowship, one in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the other in Ontario, Canada. He began his practice in 1974 and retired in 2008. He holds certifications from the American Board of Pediatrics, The American Board of Allergy & Immunology, and the Canadian Board of Pediatrics.

During his medical practice, John became interested in understanding the causes of and interconnections between hunger, satiation, and weight gain. His interest turned into a passion and a multi-decade personal study and research project that led him to read many medical journal articles, medical textbooks, and other scholarly works in biology, biochemistry, physiology, endocrinology, and cellular metabolic functions. This eventually guided Dr. Poothullil to investigate the theory of insulin resistance as it relates to diabetes. Recognizing that this theory was illogical, he spent a few years rethinking the biology behind high blood sugar and finally developed the fatty acid burn switch as the real cause of diabetes. Recently his own cancer diagnosis lead him to research cancer and childhood cancer.

I was born with a club foot and wore corrective shoes. I survived pneumonia three times by the time that I was six years old. Growing up in Surrey, I took my share of beatings. At age 18, I joined the army at the body weight of 120 pounds. I later gained 35 pounds of muscle, ran five full marathons and competed in kick-boxing in Canada and Hong Kong. At age 39, I went to university to earn a Bachelor of Human Ecology. At age 40, I won a welter weight kick-boxing championship. At age 47, I climbed Mount Rainier. I am the author of Stomach Flattening, Reduce Your Alcohol Craving, One Less Victim and an awarding winning teen novel: Selo.

content-left-img1-235x300[1] (1)I know what it is like to be picked last for sports teams, laughed at for trying out for the track team and almost refused to the military for being underweight.  (Yes, there used to be height and weight restrictions.)

To be the shy, skinny kid getting slammed around the school hallways or beat up in a parking lot, fishing dock and even a front living room was not a good time.

It definitely took a little soul-searching, research and trial-and-error to figure out that most of the mainstream advice about fitness, nutrition and self-defence, was very limited.

It took some time, but I was able to break through ( self-imposed) physical and mental barriers allowing me to:
– Gain 40 pounds of muscle
– Become a paratrooper
– Go from a “C” average high school student to earning a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition
– Run full marathons
– Climb Mount Rainier (at age 47)
– Compete in kick-boxing in Canada and Asia.
– Win a kick-boxing championship at age 40
