YH26-32. Ruth Minnis the Calming Spirit

Your health is your choice with Sara Troy and her guest Ruth Minnis. On air from August 11th

I believe my calling is to bring healing and shine light into places where pain, fear, and darkness have taken hold. It has been the thread woven throughout my entire life and the work I was created to do.

Whether through massage therapy, Reiki, energy healing, intuitive guidance, sound, or simply holding compassionate space, my purpose is to help people reconnect with hope, awaken their innate capacity to heal, and remember that they are far more resilient and whole than they may believe.

Every session is an invitation to quiet the noise, restore balance, and rediscover the wisdom that already lives within them.

My life’s work has always been to carry light into dark places until others can see their own light again.

There is no greater privilege than witnessing someone leave feeling lighter, stronger, more peaceful, and deeply connected to themselves.

Ruth Minnis is the founder of Ruth’s Healing Arts, where she has dedicated her life to helping others restore balance, discover hope, and reconnect with their authentic selves.

A Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher, and intuitive energy practitioner, Ruth weaves together therapeutic massage, Reiki, craniosacral therapy, reflexology, sound healing, aromatherapy, and other restorative modalities to create deeply personalized healing experiences.

Known for her compassionate heart, calming presence, and intuitive insight, Ruth believes true healing begins by addressing the whole person—body, mind, heart, and spirit.

Her passion is creating safe, nurturing spaces where people can release what no longer serves them, remember their inner wisdom, and move forward with greater peace, clarity, and purpose.

Above all, Ruth believes that every person carries within them the capacity for healing. Sometimes all they need is someone willing to hold the light until they can see it for themselves.

When she isn’t working with clients or teaching, Ruth can often be found exploring the beauty of nature, collecting stones and fossils along the Oregon coast, studying personal and spiritual growth, and continually deepening her understanding of the many ways healing unfolds.

AK26-26. Andrea Nechita & My Student Toolbox.

Authors Kiss with Sara Troy and her guest Andrea Nechita, on air from June 30th

My story began with my own struggles as a student. I know what it feels like to work hard yet still feel overwhelmed, discouraged, and burnt out. Through years of trial, research, creativity, and persistence, I developed personalized strategies and systems that helped me move from struggling to thriving.

Today, through my debut book, My Student Toolbox: From Struggling to Thriving: Your Student Success Guide, and my personalized educational performance coaching, I help students and families build their own personal toolkit for academic and lifelong success.

As a student success coach, author, speaker, and artist, my mission is to empower students to move from struggling to thriving and to remind them that with the right support and strategies they too can succeed in school and beyond.

With a passion for art and history, I pursued my studies starting with an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Art History from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada. My love for the renaissance and medieval periods took me to Budapest, Hungary, where I completed a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary History and Medieval Studies from Central European University. Afterwards, I went on to further develop my professional skills in Montreal, Canada, with a Master of Library and Information Studies from McGill University.

My work has taken me into the heritage and education sectors, including roles in universities, museums, cultural centres, libraries, and even in the field on archaeological sites. I consider myself a lifelong learner and a learning advocate. I love helping others and empowering them to learn, reflect, and thrive through designing, developing and publishing meaningful educational and artistic content.

BB26-21. Mike Qu & Total Freedom

Building Your Business with Sara Troy and her guest Mike Qu, on air from May 26th

THE FUTURE IS UNPREDICTABLE…

But it does NOT mean you leave your family’s future up to chance!

You are here because you take charge over your family’s future, and consider these factors independently:

My personal mission in life is to help families achieve their freedom. Of course, it varies by family. However, the critical overlap is in financial freedom. Imagine family function if every family can make decisions without financial scarcity , and the children growing up in a household where their upbringing isn’t bound by finances. I am fortunate enough to know at least one way to achieve this, and that’s the method I want to share with the audience. The fact that I’m at an oil and gas company providing direct oil and gas well ownership to investors is just a slice of that mission.

It’s one thing for me to share the concept and roadmap with folks and say good luck. But much more impactful if I can share the roadmap AND give concrete steps to take this year for people. That’s how I can actually achieve impact for families.

I started in the software industry and while the salary was great, life was just passing, with very little freedom to show for it. After close to a decade, it was enough for me. I went off to build my financial freedom first, and then show that path so people have at least one proven way to do it.

RG26-18. Dr Susan Blumberg & Marriage with a Neurodivergent Child

Raising Our Gifted Children with Sara Troy and her guest Dr Susan Blumberg, on air from May 5th

Today, we’re opening a conversation that touches the heart of many homes, the delicate dance between communication, relationships, and the realities of raising a neurodivergent child within a marriage.

There’s a common belief that having a child with special needs automatically places a marriage under greater strain, even leading to higher divorce rates. But the truth is more nuanced than that. It isn’t the child who defines the outcome—it’s how the couple chooses to walk the journey together.

When communication remains open, when both partners feel seen, heard, and supported, the relationship can deepen in ways never imagined. The challenge then becomes not just caring for the child, but consciously nurturing the partnership, making space for connection, understanding, and shared resilience.

This is about balance… about choosing each other as much as you choose your child, and recognizing that a strong relationship becomes one of the greatest gifts you can offer your family.

I’m a married mother of two young adult, twice-exceptional children. I’ve lived in Colorado for over 40 years, but I still think of myself as a New Yorker!

My background in cognitive behavioral therapy informs my work as a life coach, as I help people set goals, plan their journey, and achieve success. I worked as a licensed clinical psychologist for over 20 years, in mental health agencies, in private practice, and for the federal government overseeing child welfare and adoption services in the Rocky Mountain region. This has given me a solid and varied background, and extensive level of experience.

Working as a special education advocate for 40 years means I have honed my skills as a negotiator, my ability to collaborate, and my understanding of being a team member. I always put your child first. I have training from the Arc, Wrightslaw, and I was a member of COPAA, the Council Of Parent Attorneys and Advocates. I have sat on both sides of the IEP table, as a professional and a parent, which gives me an unique perspective. Though I am not currrently taking new clients, I am available for consultation as needed.

I am also the coauthor of multiple books, including Fighting for Your Marriage (2010, Markman, Stanley & Blumberg), 12 Hours to a Great Marriage (2003, Markman, Stanley & Blumberg) and Parenting a Child with Sensory Processing Disorder: a family guide to understanding and supporting your sensory-sensitive child (2006, Auer & Blumberg).

RGC25-39. Fiona and Molly McIntosh. U Shape Us

Raising Our Gifted Children with Sara Troy and her guests Fiona & Molly McIntosh, on air from September 30th

U Shape Us: The power of imagination to turn ideas into friendships

So many of our children carry creative gifts that go unseen. I first noticed this with my daughter Molly, when we used a simple imagination game to help her make friends. From that moment grew U Shape Us—our mother–daughter social enterprise creating playful imagination games to spark creativity, connection, and belonging across generations. Each time a child shares an idea and sees it welcomed, it builds self-esteem and the deeper belief: “I am someone whose ideas matter. I am creative.” Parents, grandparents, and teachers often tell us they’ve discovered a new side of their children through these games, as ideas turn into friendships and voices are heard. At its heart, our message is simple: you belong where your ideas are welcomed.
