Sara’s View of Life with Sara Troy, on air from October 6th
It is my Birthday today, October 6th, and I am thankful to have reached 66 years young. I am thankful to be with my family this weekend for our Canadian Thanks Giving, and I am thankful to be able to do what I do.
If even in these times we can look at what to be grateful for and not to dwell on the have nots, we will navigate through these turbulent times thankful to still see all the possibilities that lay before us.
When one door closes, there is always another door, or window that will open, we just have to be calm, pause, breathe and be willing to walk forward blind deaf and dumb in order to see hear and feel.
I am, despite my health condition, financial and age challenges, being able to still do my interviews on Self Discovery Media of illuminating wisdom that changes the lives of those that choose to listen.
I am very thankful for my loving family and supportive friends (both online and off) and for where I am living, very thankful.
So take a moment to write out what you DO HAVE to be Thankful for it, FOR THAT GRATITUDE WILL SEE YOU MOVING FORWARD IN A CLEAR LIGHT.

I created this sacred place for women to get help along their journey to serve the tribe they were born to serve. I use my training toolbox, I call it {Reiki, Hypnotherapy, Law of Attraction, metaphysical concepts, and traditional education (BS in psychology & MSW)} to assist women in creating peace of mind so they can get clarity on their gifts & talents which are then used to create financial security and abundance. Along the way, they gain confidence and love who they truly are so they can stand in their power to create a lifestyle that givens them quality time with family and friends without being exhausted, time for caring for themselves to recharge their “battery” without feeling guilt but feel nurtured, supported and loved.
La Shonda is a born teacher, trainer, and leader who turned those skills into successful entrepreneurship. She has been able to find the balance between business and her personal life (spouse & 3 kids). She is also an international best-selling author with clients throughout the United States who successfully learn how to design a business that fits who they are and create their desired lifestyle. La Shonda is widely considered to be the “start-up” Goddess.
Their Story Matters with Sara Troy and her guest Jackie Van Campen, on air from October 6th
I grew up in a country where being sexually active at 12/13 y/o was normalized. Teen pregnancy was (and still is) a common occurrence. By the time I was 12, I was already making out with 15/16-y/o boys. By the time I was 13, I was making out with a 23-y/o man. It was normal for young women to date much older guys. Enter the movie “Cutie” on Netflix. After reading so many posts of distraught women bashing Netflix for the hypersexualization of children for the way they were promoting the show, I decided to watch it for myself and gather my own opinions on it. If all you got from it was the hypersexualization of children, you missed very significant pieces and layers, including what leads to these issues. As I watching the show, I was reminded of my own experiences and things I saw growing up
– Poverty
Religious and cultural oppression of women
Peer pressure
Lack of open communication between parents and children
There’s so much I want to say about these points and how some of them directly impacted me as a tween/teen and then as an adult. I’m still gathering my thoughts…One thing I’ll say is that as I look at my own girls (22, 15, and 12), I’m grateful that their experiences so far have been very different than mine at their respective ages. We don’t protect our children by hiding things from them. We protect them by having open dialogue and communication – something I did not have growing up. I hope that instead of freaking out over things, we can actually have open and honest conversations, especially as women, because if we want to change the way children are hypersexualized, we need to start by confronting the issues that lead to it, including the demons in our own closets..

I’d like to start with Allium sativum, or garlic – not only out of respect for my Italian roots, but because it is quite possibly the most potently practical medicinal herb on the planet. We all know this strong-charactered little bulb for its delicious flavor and aroma, but I’m often baffled by how few people use it medicinally for its plethora of healing applications.
This wasn’t always the case. As recently as 60 years ago, garlic was a crucial component in the standard-issue medical kits that were carried by medics in both World War I and II to treat wounds. Its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties have been praised for millennia.
In terms of versatility, there are very few herbs that compare to garlic. It is an effective blood thinner, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-oxidant, and immune system stimulant that promotes heart health and is also proven to lower cholesterol.
My favorite use: garlic can literally knock out a cold or flu in less than 24 hours if used in conjunction with the right dietary protocol and adequate sleep.
The best way to take it? Raw. Yes, this can be intense, but if it’s a little hard on your palette imagine how uncomfortable it is for the critters in your gut that are making you feel lousy.
If I was only allowed to keep one herb in my medicine bag, garlic would be it.
