What Is Dyslexia
Dyslexia literally means ‘trouble with words’. The term dyslexia can be used in two ways:
specifically for challenges with reading and spelling, or
as an umbrella word to encompass over 70 so-called learning disabilities.
Stereotypically, people with dyslexia reverse letters and words and have difficulty with reading and spelling, but this is not always the case. They may read well, they may have difficulty with printing, processing, written output, math, directions, organisation or paying attention.
Dyslexics have a gift – a natural ability.
Ron Davis, the author of The Gift of Dyslexia, discovered he had an ability to perceive mental images as if they are real, and to view these images from many different perspectives. One-third of the population share this gift. It works to their advantage in the real three-dimensional world, and many famous dyslexics succeeded because of their gift, not in spite of it.
However, this gift works against them in the two-dimensional world of print. If a person imagines a 3D elephant and perceives it from many angles, it is always an elephant, but in the 2D world of print, a lower case ‘d’ is only a ‘d’ from one perspective. Also, the letters in the word have to be seen from left to right in a certain sequence, rather than the other way around…
Sue’s training began experientially at school. By the age of 18, Sue remembers promising herself that she would never read another book as long as she lived. It was a solemn heartfelt promise that lasted many years! She worked as a secretary for several years, before changing direction to train as a Reflexologist, with Therapeutic Massage, Reiki, Bach Flowers, Metamorphic Technique, Hopi Ear Candles and Nutritional advice.
When her son started school, she noticed his reading ability did not relate to his intelligence and powers of memory. She discovered he was dyslexic; he had learning assistance and eventually went to a special school for dyslexics, where his abilities did improve, but when she attended a lecture on “The Gift of Dyslexia” she realized this was the much needed positive approach she had been looking for. After his program, her son described his dyslexia as a wound – other systems had given him band-aids for his wound, but his Facilitator had helped him to heal it himself!
Sue trained as a Davis Dyslexia Correction Facilitator with Ron Davis in the UK, and was delighted to discover that she too was dyslexic. She emigrated to Canada in 1998 and is one of over 400 Facilitators worldwide. Sue feels very privileged to help those with ‘the gift’ overcome their challenges and enjoy learning. She is totally dedicated to this approach, knowing it addresses the cause of the challenges.
Sue loves to speak to groups of parents, teachers, educators, and of course dyslexics, sharing her knowledge of the perceptual gift that underlies their talents and their challenges. She is truly thankful for to all her students, past and future for the learning experience that they share together.

“for the LOVE of Music” with Sara Troy and her guest Dr Michael Likey, on air from June 20th
Join us on why music all music feeds the soul and how every voice needs to sing. Singing to set yourself free, for fun, to invite, to feel and to connect to our divine love, singing can do all of this.
Michael says, “I actually started my magic and music career back home in 1970’s Montreal, using the stage name “Shawn Stevens”, because I liked Shawn Phillips’ mystical image and the music of Cat Stevens. As a solo act and with only my acoustic Aria, I did colleges, Parks and Recreation events, and coffeehouses in and around my Montreal. Never reaching the musical heights of my drummer father Lou Likey who put me through college with his career, (he made quite a name for himself back then) he bought me my first guitar (the Aria) at Steve’s Music Store in downtown Montreal, as well as my second guitar, a lovely nylon-stringed one from Pascal, a hardware store near our home in Cote-des-Neiges!”
Dr Likey, has had an extraordinary life’s journey and along the way has been a student of many modalities. To hear about his METAPHYSICAL journey and hear his other show with me pleaseGO HERE

SERVING JESUS should be an outward-focused adventure. Unfortunately, many churches have become inward-focused over time and have lost the ability to connect with the culture of today. Just as many people are afraid of riding motorcycles, some church attendees are afraid of making relationships with people who live and act differently. This disconnect tends to show a judgmental attitude from the Church towards others.
The Harley-Davidson story is a great example of an organisation that accepts anyone who comes in the door. Outlaw Bikers, Rich Urban Bikers, and those in between are treated the same when they enter the Harley-Davidson Dealerships. Their acceptance and lack of judgement give bikers the gift of belonging. Isn t this what the church should be about? Take this journey with us as you explore what the Church can learn from Harley Davidson.
When Lisa Barnett wrote The Infinite Wisdom of the Akashic Records, she knew that she had an instant success on her hands. Rocketing to a bestseller, it helped people to understand that there is a universal archive of our infinite soul’s journey through the millennia and the dimensions. Furthermore, it can be accessed to understand and help course-correct in this lifetime.
Barnett, the internationally renowned founder of the Akashic Knowing School of Wisdom, has been teaching people how to connect with the Akashic Masters for many years. But she also spent 10 years as a prayer practitioner at the Golden Gate Center for Spiritual Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, guiding people to the right prayers to seek intervention for specific issues in their lives.
So, was it any surprise when the Akashic Beings of Light metaphorically tapped Barnett on the shoulder and asked her to bring forth a series of powerful, Source-imbued prayers that help people turn their lives around? Indeed they did! And that’s howFrom Questioning to Knowing: 73 Prayers to Transform Your Lifewas born.
With a foreword from Jack Canfield, this book provides illumination for those seeking to end the pain, suffering, financial strain and the feeling of being trapped in their own lives – and to take a leap forward into a new state of being. Notes Canfield, “It’s no accident, but rather divine timing, that Lisa has written this book now when so many have unanswered questions. By simply reading a prayer, every page of his book can transform you effortlessly from where you are to where you feel loved and supported.
Here’s how the Akashic Beings of Light expressed it through Barnett: “When your readers chose to say a prayer, they are connecting to us…They will energetically access their soul’s library…receiving guidance from us as the divine messengers. We are here to guide and help humanity remember the truth of their infinite souls. We are here to support you in releasing old beliefs or karma stuck outside of time (from previous lives) blocking your progress or to understand more about your soul purposes and gifts.”
Barnett thus covers a great deal of territory in this book. Interlaced with explanations of how and why the information in the Akashic records can impact your life today, specific stories of how these prayers changed the lives of her clients, and how her own gift of inter-dimensional connection evolved out of her pain and searching, From Questioning to Knowing, provides the answers to the questions that–until now–have not been answerable-why you are stuck where you are and how to move forward, grow, expand and be happy.
The Akashic Masters offer prayers for Self-Trust, Heart-Opening, Fear, Strength, Courage, Forgiveness, Shame/Guilt, Judgement, Self-Love, Abundance/Financial Growth, Grief/Loss, Release of Unconscious Beliefs, Vibration Elevation, Creativity, Happiness, Life Balance, Grace, Peace and more. There are also prayers for Healing from Abuse, Dysfunctional Family Relationships, Physical Pain/Illness and one specifically for Cancer.
Along the way, Barnett addresses:
How to release old karmic patterns and complete soul contracts with these messages of light
The influence ancestral lineage may have on you
The way to unblock chakras using prayer
How these prayers are best used to resolve issues, clear blocks, heal emotional pain and resentments — and open space for the miraculous to arrive.

Their Story Matters with Sara Troy and her guest Leah Guy, on air from May 30th
Author, intuitive transpersonal healer, spiritual teacher, professional speaker, and media personality – Leah Guy releases her new book “The Fearless Path” out via New Page Books! There are not only stories in the book, but compelling information about our energy system and overall wellness that I think is necessary for anyone on the self-care journey to understand. It’s a practical book, easy to understand and useful no matter the pain or suffering one is enduring. Addiction, weight issues, heartache, anxiety, sexual assault or behavioural issues…the information is applicable and relatable.
Leah Guy believes that disconnection is the root of all fear and the attempt at letting go causes more problems than it solves. Debunking the myth of detachment and other popular New Age ideologies, she emphasizes that there’s no escapism in emotional healing. Rather, the process is about putting the personal pieces of your heart, mind, and soul back together again. The Fearless Path offers a radical approach that will heal trauma, fear, heartache and mental and physical health.
This book highlights the impact that fear, guilt, shame, and grief has on humans and how to process and heal the pain. We seek happiness and peace and it is only through connection and acceptance that we can reach that goal. Emotional healing requires putting your broken pieces back together again. To mend your heart, you must have access to your suffering. To do this you must be willing to tear down the walls that create the confines of your emotional prison.
Through time we learn to avoid suffering by lying to ourselves and others, which serves to increase emotional distress and disconnection. These are the negative energy patterns we use in an attempt to separate from pain. However, it is through connection to our divine nature that we can be free. To be whole and healthy, it is necessary to accept and process the suffering and be open to the guidance and direction of Source, the Creator, the great Conductor. I call this energy “God.” As we walk in faith and connection to Source, we find a balance between spirit and body, between heaven and earth. A rich spiritual life leads us to a satisfying and peaceful human life. This is the final link to healing. Integrating spiritual wisdom with earthly experience allows us to emotionally process and evolve. Enlightenment is achieved with the alignment of heart and Soul. Every experience in our lives offers exactly what we need to heal and grow into this alignment. If experiences are dismissed or abandoned, the progress of our spiritual evolution grinds to a halt. Our purpose is to stay connected to all our experiences and emotions so we walk toward the alignment and experience true self-love and peace. Because we are so unique, our paths to healing must be unique. That is why we are each given different experiences to process and endure in our lives. As we process the suffering in our life, our hearts are free to participate in our higher purpose. Emotional healing is important because it is the path that allows you to reach your true purpose.
The quest for peace and happiness is fulfilled through the process of emotional healing. If we avoid healing, we become trapped by the illusions of our minds. Our minds trick us to believe that peace and happiness are achievable only if we do something different or better. There is the illusion that earthly attachments will make us feel better with more money, the coolest car, or the new drug. These false beliefs mask the need for healing. It will not suffice to depend on external things to satisfy the internal war of emotional distress. Peace comes from your Soul, not by mental illusions.
Shifting your perspective from how you view the reality of your mind to the reality of your Soul helps define who you are. This is where you heal and gain insight to why bad things happen to good people. It is from the Soul that we can accept our weaknesses and move from fear to greatness. The more we heal, the more access we have to the alignment and reality of our divine being. It is from this place that we can experience the peace and happiness that we crave.
The spiritual path is a difficult one for many. It symbolizes vast ideologies that include acceptance of things such as compassion, love, and grace. It is believed that we must surrender our own desires or needs for that of the larger cosmic plan. The more you commit to healing and aligning your heart with your Soul, the easier it becomes to accept the aspects of spirituality.
It is your responsibility to tap into the connection of your divine presence. It’s scary to rely on faith and trust in yourself. It may require that you go against what other people think you should do or who you should be, but it’s possible to find happiness on this path. The more we are guided spiritually, the more wisdom, joy, and peace can be attained. We need the balance and strength that comes from a faith in something beyond the confines of our minds. There is a great relief as we tune into our spiritual wisdom and faith because our minds attempt to make us believe in the false promises of the world. The mind tells us that we will be free of our hardships and turmoil if we work harder or make more money. But it is only through the connection to your divine being that ultimate freedom is possible. As you become emotionally healed you align more closely to your Soul where peace reigns.
By accepting and trusting that suffering and joys are part of a greater plan for our lives, we connect to our divine selves and loneliness is relieved. This requires welcoming the unknown and working through our fears. On the fearless path, shame softens into love, and guilt becomes compassion. We can walk in faith and know love. Love transcends the belief that the world will provide the relief we seek. Relief is within you and connected to your Soul.
Your spirit is the expression of your Soul. You are divine energy that is perfectly made with a unique and guided personality and purpose. Your Soul does not change, but your relationship to your Soul may change. Prayer, meditation, and spiritual work are things that connect to your Soul. The nature of prayer and meditation carries high vibration energy, which is more in tune with the vibration of divine energy. As you become one with your true self and create openness for the heart to give beyond what is materially possible, you connect with the frequency of divinity.
Spiritual faith is a belief structure that is unique to you. Beliefs are often based on what we’ve been told to believe. It’s important to discover your own beliefs and ensure they are attuned to your heart. Be careful not to aim low in your spiritual quest. The mind can limit the possibilities of the world, including the potential of knowledge, our personal lives, love relationships, and spiritual beliefs. Harnessing divine energy makes all things possible, including the extraordinary.
If we allow ourselves to witness the divine order of things, we can see miracles happen every day. They may not be life-saving miracles with neon lights, but the miracles and connection of life become huge in the eyes of a spiritually tuned in person. This is the divinity that connects us to each other.
