8 Steps to Stop Dying Every Day and Start Waking Up

When Did You DIE?  When someone told you that you weren’t good enough? When you buried who you really are for fear that others would disapprove? Or when you gave up your creative dreams to take a “practical” job? Are you in a relationship that does not ‘relate’ to you?

You may not have realized you were dying, but you have been dying a little more each day. And that’s the miracle of Temple Hayes’ remarkable new book, When Did You Die? 8 Steps to Stop Dying Every Day and Start Waking Up (HCI Books). It empowers you to wake up and take back your life!

Hayes is today one of the most respected and authentically inspiring leaders in spiritual enrichment and a sought-after speaker. A Unity minister in St. Petersburg Fl., with a global following, and an extremely popular radio show, Hayes knows firsthand what it is to die to your true self and your dreams.

templeBorn in a rural Southern church-going community, she knew from the beginning she was different from those around her. Her life was filled with strife–violence in the home, a lack of love and compassion, blatant neglect. Her father killed her adored cat, later ran over her dog with his truck and when she was helping her beloved dog, her grandfather–with reckless abandon–ran over her with his car. Horrifyingly, her mother was forced into shock treatments for not conforming to local morale judgments. What terrible message did THAT convey to her preteen daughter? Men tried to force themselves on Hayes. So at 13, she sought to numb the pain with alcohol bought at the local grocery store. But there was more than she was hiding, she knew she had a deep connection to the spirit which no one would approve or believe because it didn’t conform to traditional Christian teachings. And the biggest secret of all was that she was attracted to other girls. So each day, she denied who she was, diving deeper into numbness, dying a little more each day.

And so she raged on, with a drinking problem that resulted in multiple auto accidents, arrests, the loss of her driver’s license, and years of bad behaviour. Over the years, despite outwardly having a very successful professional career in the corporate world, she floundered in relationships, felt empty and hid her sexual identity. And then slowly she emerged — with a deep hunger for spiritual connection, a connection that led to her healing and to the wisdom that she offers in When Did You Die? to help others resurrect themselves.

Says Hayes: “Many people do not realize that there are many layers of being asleep and dying while we are living. We are so caught up in the motions of living, eating, working, and making and keeping appointments that we don’t realize that we died to our potential a long time ago. We have become robotic! How do you know whether you’ve been dying a bit every day? One key way is to notice if you are feeling disconnected or drained rather than energized or impassioned about your life… the inner cause of feeling disconnected and drained is that our society and surroundings often do not allow us the chance to be our true selves. We often approach life being half awake which gets in the way of our success.

“True success is measured by how we thrive and live being totally alive, rather than being drained and weary. Subtle deaths prevent us from experiencing the miracles and magic that are our birthright. Your light is your energy, your gift to the world. And your lightness of being is your gift to yourself. Making a decision to stop dying will greatly increase your capacity to start living and to manifest your true purpose in life. You will now begin to shine.”

When Did You Die? is designed to inspire you to become more alive, more authentic, more youthful, and more energetic!

book temopA much-needed wake-up call for an emotionally and spiritually drained generation, the book offers a profound 8-step program to propel you to a healthier, happier, and more prosperous life. This inspiring, realistic guide is packed with motivational tools, shamanic surprises, daily practices, uplifting parables, and good, old-fashioned Southern storytelling. Chapter by chapter, step by step, you’ll learn how you connect with those subtle moments which will leave you either disconnected and drained or energized and impassioned. Discover practical ways to actually go through fear and not let it stop you. You’ll learn how restoring your soul re-energizes you and creates an open heart. When Did You Die? shifts the paradigm and lifts you to live beyond your greatest vision.

Hayes is the embodiment of what she teaches. Authentic to the core, she inspires millions around the world: “I had almost become comfortable being a chicken even though deep down I always knew I was an eagle destined for an ‘eagle’s life.’ The eagle within me continued to call me to keep going.” And so Hayes did…living in full brilliance instead of dying a bit more each day.

What is Anxiety and Depression and can we just snap out of it?

internal-demonsFor me No, I can’t, it is very hard to come out of a dark cloud and the feeling of despair. For me I know it is a case of chemical imbalance which takes me over and eats away at my gut and very being.

People see me as someone who is always upbeat positive and with a believing of living life, only some know of my darkness that I live in. Many do not want to know, they like the person who goes after life and believes in what is possible no matter how many times I get knocked down. It is not that they don’t care but that they do not know what to say or do about it when I am in darkness.

I discovered through my Wise Health host Suma Nathan on Self Discovery Radio a product a natural nutrient called Q96 that feeds the brain and rebalances our equilibrium. This product works and for 4 months I kept my anxiety at bay.   Even though physiatrist are finally understanding the benefits to this nutrient, it is still far from the main stream and supported by medical. It was great having the 4 months of anxiety and depression gone, and no matter what family crises, running a radio station, renewing a business, finding a new home etc., it got me through and for that I am grateful.

314773_261103207329351_1457952676_nIt is not all bad, something always good comes out of it if we survive it, I got offered a radio show 6.5 years ago that set me on this path that came from my depression, go figure. Comedians get their material from those dark places, it is just sometimes the darkness is too much and you can’t find your way back home. We have to be in purpose or we look at our lives as useless, we have to know we count or why be here and when in the darkness, there is no warmth no hand no touch to make you feel less alone, only the cold dark.

I am not like this all the time, it comes in waves, we do feel the pain in our bodies and mind soul and heart, it all hurts, sleep is so very important not so easy to do when you’re so down, or it is all you can do and not wake up to any possibility as your just too tried. There are many modalities that can help, this nutrient Q96, meditation, yoga, walks, dancing singing living, if you can overcome the pain enough. When in this state it is so very important that you be active in any way, find a purpose, make yourself do something, put yourself around people that care, understand it is hard to be around jolly people if you feel no joy within, do not take it personally for we appreciate your efforts.

Removing yourself from your direct pain is the key, go to a movie that removes you from you, do a sport, go for a run, help out somewhere, help someone else, that is what I love to do and it gives me a reason to still be here. Depending on if your nutrient low or struggling with mood swings that consume you, there is always an answer, look to your diet it is a key for your recovery. For me always has to be natural, I know that antidepressants make me worse and do not help in my recovery. I have to be natural, focusing and doing something outside of myself, I guess that is why I do the radio, I interview people who have overcome and I celebrate their D.I.V.A (dreams, inspirations, visions, aspirations) as it helps me find my own, plus I am so inspired by what they all bring to the table that the pride I have in my hosts and what the station stand for is a reason to fight this ugly disorder completely.

So I will overcome, I always do, time to be productive and override the pain, I have every reason to live as I have a purpose that is so much bigger than I, and knowing that these shows we do is helping people around the world find their own strength light and purpose is a reason to keep on fighting, even though I may need some help from time to time.

SO please don’t judge us for what we do, for sometimes it is out of our control, don’t tell us to snap out of it or be too aggressive with your solution, understand, anxiety and depression do HURT so help us heal with love support and belief in us and help us see the joy of life again so we may find the light once more.

I have done many shows on this from anti-bullying to featuring the Q96 and its results, you can find them at mental-challenges-shows

P14/33b “LESSONS Crime, Games & Pain”

Positive Living Vibrations with Sara Troy and her guest Scott Magri. Aired August 19th/14 on

10303455_716658348372226_4854536327116422560_nEvery so often a book of powerful honesty comes along to jog us out of our comfortable existence. Lessons is such a book. Author Scott Magri has lived the painful life of drugs, crime and physical brutality, and Lessons tells that story in his own words. He pulls no punches in the telling of this story, particularly when it comes to his own failings, but he firmly believes that the lessons he has learned so far in this lifetime were meant to be learned so that he might fulfil a higher purpose. Lessons chronicles Scott Magri’s forty-four years on this planet, the lessons he’s learned along the way, and his real purpose for being. His greatest hope is that his story will spark in others a desire to examine their own life in order to discover their own true purpose.

Scott Magri was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, now lives in Pitt Meadows, B.C. His story tells of a life of drugs, crime and physical brutality that began as a bullied youngster. He tells his story in his own words, so don’t expect great prose. He tells of the lessons that he has learned and the impact they have had on him. Now, at 44, and out of that life, he is looking forward to a purposeful future and hopes others will read what can happen in this crazy world that is called ‘life’. A must read: “LESSONS Crime, Games & Pain”

Scott says “When I made the decision to write this book, I was going to dig down deep and tell every single thing in hopes that it would help other people,” says Magri.

download (1)“If I told only half of it, it wouldn’t do what it’s supposed to do.”

Magri decided to start writing after his third suicide attempt.

“I felt my body was somewhere else. There was a message there,” he says.

Magri bought a computer and began typing the next day.

As soon as he started writing, he got chills and goosebumps. It was the start of his catharsis.

Magri soon used began using words as a way to deal with his demons brought on by years of drug abuse, criminal activity, broken relationships and aggression.

Scott now works with the police in helping kids prevent living a life or crime drugs and fear, he is an exemplary example of how life can be turned around when we decide to embrace our true value and not feed the fear hate or greed. He is open honest and in action to live a life of truth and purpose and helps others to leave crime behind. He is in resurrecting an old sanctuary called the Katzie Slough so that others may find peace and harmony in a sacred spot.
