IG23-01. Theresa Contaxis a Soul Ageless Journey

Ignite Your Heart and Soul with Sara Troy and her guest Theresa Contaxis, on air from January 3rd 2023

A Journey Of the Soul For All Ages

As a child, Theresa Contaxis struggled to navigate her way in life. She was bullied and felt insecure when measuring herself against others. In adulthood, she battled with feelings of anger, jealousy, and fear. Married, with her third child on the way, she had to confront depression. She went on a spiritual journey, embracing spiritual learnings from many belief systems and eventually becoming a reverend. In the process of finding herself, she was inspired to write a book for people of all ages,

The Littlest Sailboat.

Why she uses the ocean and a sailboat as metaphors for finding spirituality
How and why we each should embrace the power of letting go
How adults can find it within themselves to change course when life’s storms loom
What she learned from studying for several years with a shaman
What we can do to confront our feelings of anger, fear, shame, and jealous

“This relatively short but meaningful book has been a work in progress for a long time,” shares Theresa Contaxis. “But isn’t that who we are, in essence, as human beings, a work in progress? It takes time to learn that we are Divine beings living the human experience.”

The Littlest Sailboat
is a story about some of the challenges we face growing up, and reveals the pearls of wisdom we gather along the way. Its childlike simplicity enables this book to be read across generations. The inspiring story takes readers on a journey in the search for truth, acceptance, meaning and ultimately, love.

An elegant metaphor narrated by the Littlest Sailboat herself, she takes us along her floating journey, encountering adventures with the elements and meetings with unexpected friends, teachers and guiding forces — surrounded by the guiding spirit of Love.

“With the chaos we see in the world today, people are scrambling for answers and solutions,” says Contaxis. “The Littlest Sailboat navigates the journey we all go through while returning to the point we began. Full circle.”

The book, beautifully illustrated with unique watercolors by Jennifer Anne Contaxis, is for anyone who asks: Who am I? Where am I going?

Theresa Contaxis is an author, reverend, and student for life. She recently published The Littlest Sailboat: A Journey of the Soul (IPBBooks), an inspiring tale of how one finds their place in this world and calls upon faith for guidance. Contaxis suffered from loneliness and depression while pregnant with her third child. It was then that she found herself on a formal spiritual journey, attending a spiritual retreat, EMMAUS. The retreat was a defining moment in her life that forever changed her direction.

A mother of three, Contaxis studied under a nun, multiple energy workers, James Twyman, and two shamans for two years before becoming a Reverend at All Faiths Seminary International. She has studied mysticism from various spiritual leaders. Her writings reflect her spiritual evolution.

“It is important to laugh as you learn and grow,” she says. “I am grateful the Spirit teaches me through humor.  I have lots of examples of that. For those that are at the end of the rope, there is always hope. For those who feel unloved, that they are loved, loving and lovable. This applies to all people. Especially those who feel they have led a ‘bad’ life. They are loved. And underneath the actions that we see, our spirits are always connected to God, Source, Divine, Ralph whatever you want to call it.”

She graduated from Hartt School of Music and earned an MBA from University of Hartford. She worked in finance for a short time, and then stayed home to raise her family. Theresa resides in Tolland, Massachusetts.

BB22.52. Anish Majumdar, are you a WAGE-SLAVE?

Building Your Business with Sara Troy and her guest Anish Majumdar, on air from December 20th

My why is to free as many deserving people from the quiet hell known as “finding a job” for the rest of their lives. It doesn’t matter what your current job is, or how much you make, or what company you work for: if I took away your job today and you are unable to quickly find something better ON YOUR TERMS…you are not free. You’re just a paid wage slave. And this goes on all the way to the top.

This is personal for me because years before I became a career coach, i was hustling for my own abundance (and that of my family). And I saw firsthand that what you accomplish or achieve makes LITTLE TO NO difference if the only way for you to get paid is to impress a fear-based recruiter or gatekeeper.

There is a COMPLETELY different way to do all of this which we were never taught about.

And once you learn it, you will have the power to stand on your own two feet, write your own professional destiny, and take intelligent risks without fearing the judgment of those who simply do not get you.

GV22-52. Kevin M. Hallinan, Outwittng the Criminal

Our Global Veterans with Sara Troy and her guest Kevin M. Hallinan, on air from December 19th

The Police force needs to understand the criminal mind to know how to combat it; there needs to be an expansion of education and integration of psychoanalysis, social workers, and even past criminals to show the way forward. Things so need to change on all fronts to combat criminal minds.

We are grateful for the brave men and women who help keep New York City’s streets safe, and we know the challenges they face every day. With your ongoing support, we can continue to provide peer assistance to struggling police officers who need our help. Thank you.

POPPA has responded to thousands of police officers who have reached out for help.  The majority of calls to POPPA were by officers who just needed to talk to someone or wanted to meet to discuss issues in more depth.  Approximately 45% of officers were referred to clinicians for ongoing confidential professional help.  Of the officers who received POPPA services, the vast majority returned to full-duty with no career disruption, or chose to retire.

During the 10-year period (1986-1995) before the existence of POPPA, there were an average of 7 active-duty officer suicides per year.  The 28 police suicides from 1993-1995 contributed to the urgent need for an organization of police peers, separate from the Department, but able to work confidentially and with the cooperation of the NYPD.

In the 26 years (1996-2021) since the creation of POPPA, the number of NYPD suicides dropped from an average of 7 suicides annually to fewer than 5 per year, with a low of 2 to a high of 10 in 2019.  In addition to this reduction, more than 150 police officers who have reported to POPPA that they did not complete suicide as a direct result of calling the POPPA 24/7 Helpline and receiving services.  The reduction in police suicide may be attributed to a variety of factors, including changes within the NYPD making officers more comfortable with seeking services, changes in attitudes reducing the stigma of needing and getting help, and the greater availability of resources, we believe that POPPA has played a significant role in the reduction of suicide among NYPD officers.

Nationwide, the number of suicides is greater than the number of line-of-duty deaths.  This is true among NYC police officers if we exclude the 23 deaths on 9/11, an ever-increasing number of 9/11-related deaths, and police deaths attributed to COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021.  Suicide is consistently the number 1 killer of police nationwide annually.

Among NYPD officers, the suicide rate is lower than that of the National Police Suicide rate (13.8 vs 17.0 per 100,000).  This may reflect a combination of the resiliency of NYC police officers and the availability of resources.  POPPA has been a leader in developing initiatives to combat officer suicide.  POPPA’s Suicide Awareness for Emergency Responders (S.A.F.E.R.) Program gives police officers the tools to identify specific warning signs of suicidal thinking and strategies to respond to an officer in crisis.

His fascinating inside look at a life in law enforcement spans layers of history, explores evolutions in national security, and features game-changing heroes and eye-opening innovations. Kevin M. Hallinan’s life and learning are at once informative, thrilling, entertaining—and perhaps most of all, truly inspiring.

Kevin M. Hallinan is known as an innovative leader in professional sports security and operations. Serving under four commissioners as SVP of Security and Facility Management, Hallinan oversaw security for all thirty Major League Baseball Clubs, creating revolutionary new systems to better protect the game and its players.

Prior to MLB, Hallinan was commander of the FBI/NYPD Joint Terrorism TaskForce, where he was recognized for his contributions in the war on terrorism. He testified before the U.S. Congress on domestic terrorism and received numerous NYPD/FBI citations and the U.S. Attorney General Award for Exceptional Public Service.

Hallinan earned his collegiate degree at Fordham University and attended the FBI National Academy.

22-51. Consciousness Rising

Sara’s View of Life, with Sara Troy, on air from December 13th

Consciousness, what is it, how do we access it, and why is it so important to rise up to it. Without a conscience, we have no compass; we can not tell wrong from right and do not know kindness, caringness, or compassion. A higher consciousness is tuned in to a higher frequency and vibration, and the higher we go, the more we know, and the more we care about each other.

You hear of people doing atrocities to another, they can not have a conscious, and therefore no heart connection, and most certainly, no opening up to a higher power, for a closed heart can not hear the wisdom from the higher forces.

Knowing your reason for being here, and living in your purpose and playing your unique instrument, is truly an illuminating and inspiring heart felt way to live. How do you get yourself to this state of being? by stepping in to that conscoiusness of enlightenment and heart soul connection, we become the solution, not only to our our own lives but also the lives of others.

It all starts with opening up your heart, that is your compass, it is where love projects from, and it is your generator, so open that heart by seeing all there is to love about yourself, this world, nature, childen, animals, the sky, the wind, the sun and waters, for all of it when you truly decide to be come engaged, will open you up and you will recieve the love and enlightenment, the visions of possiblities, and an excitment to rise up to that higher energy of a loving conscoiusness.

May you rise up to your loving consciouness and radiat from that love to one and all.
